I loved learning to Kiteboard! They were super flexible when my flight got changed and I had to reschedule a little earlier than I had reserved. They took me out on a boat to a sandbar with waist-high water which made it easy to control the kite no mater which direction the wind was blowing! Nick was a patient teacher with excellent demonstration skills. They have a nice walkie-talkie in your ear to help you with in-the-moment tips. I have given Jeremy a lot of reviews on many different sites but after many sessions with him, I can tell you honestly that if it wasn't for him, I would have given up kiteboarding. I enjoy kiting out in Stuart because the waves aren’t intense and the sport has challenges when learning, so removing an element makes the learning curve a bit less. We travel out by pontoon boat to the sandbars, so that you can stand practicing kite skills or body dragging but easily ride once you’re ready. Once you’re up and riding, the headset comes in handy because Jeremy can coach you through any mistakes you may be making. It’s a unique and efficient set up. Found Jeremy Lund (Newwavekiteboarding.com) by doing an online search. He had a bunch of great reviews on trip advisor so I thought I should add one. I had two half day semi-private lessons. I never had a lesson prior and there was one additional person in the lesson both days who had kited before and just wanted to get better. Jeremy is a nice guy with an easy demeanor. Everything he said during the lessons was important to listen to as it was a building block to the next step. I wore a helmet with built in 2 way radio which made this critical communication easy. All the equipment was safe and in great condition. His basic teaching methods and shallow water location combined with his kiting experience made me confident and controlled, but the kite clearly made me humble about this new sport. He first showed me all the built-in safety mechanisms then taught me how to set up my own equipment. I kited with New Wave last year around the same time...I come down to visit family and wanted to get in a couple of sessions during a short trip.Last year I hauled all my equipment down from NY, and did a “ride along “....the spot is amazing and the they helped me set up in the waist deep water....and off I went.This year I decided not to bother to pack up my gear and rented a kite and board. They have a full lineup of kite sizes and boards to choose from!! Their equipment is top notch. Cabrinha kites! Oliver set everything up for me and I enjoyed a great session! As the wind picked up...I came back to the boat and switched out the board. They even had an awesome neoprene hoody I wore over my rash guard cause it was a bit cool/cloudy!!! When I was finished riding, Oliver packed up the kite, lines etc. I’ll never bring my gear for a short trip again!!! I was so fortunate to be taught in such a patient, thorough manner. Throughout the lesson, I not only learned about the equipment I was using, the safety of kiteboarding, and the setup, but I was walked through step by step how kiteboarding works. This breakdown of steps allowed me to truly gain an understanding of the sport and feel much more confident about my abilities. Really had a blast. The whole staff is very friendly and experienced and the location is beautiful. The area in which you learn is shallow and safe and the whole process is very controlled. This was our second time out with Jeremy and Billy. In the meantime, we tried it with another company during travel. This was not a great experience and left me feeling nervous about trying it again. Jeremy was so incredibly patient and fantastic at explaining why the kite moved the way it did and how I needed to manage it. It took a while to work through the basics and refresh me on technique, but at the end I got up several times and was very pleased. Really good instruction for myself and my daughter, who are both beginners but also enjoyable and helpful for my son who is more advanced. These guys are great! Less

Their process of teaching kiteboarding is superior. I was on the board and beginning to ride the FIRST LESSON. Staff was friendly and safety conscious. There were 4 students today ages from13 to 50+, every rider began riding the board in the first lesson. Don't learn on the beach, this instruction is far superior. Less

The New Wave team, handled our diverse ages (12 - 60) with such enthusiasm and skill as is rarely seen in recreation education. New Wave has an all inclusive program with fair pricing so no stress or surprises. The shallow water training program they have developed, resulted in all of us getting up on a board on our first day. Florida in January 👍 Having got the kite surfing bug in the cold waters of Troon, Scotland back in November the warm waters in Florida seemed to be a good trade up . As novices without any kite surfing kit we had to track down a company to help us build on our foundation and get up on the board. After much google surfing we shortened the list down and made contact upon our arrival in the US with a few companies, and we honed in on New Wave Kitesurfing. From our first contact with Jeremy It felt like a good fit - great communication and updates as we found out all plans are weather dependent. Billy was our instructor for our two sessions and it was a most professional set up , his patience and knowledge of kite surfing was put to the test . I was given a lesson at another Kiteboard company for my 60th birthday. I quickly learned that trying to learn off the beach in heavy surf for a beginner is next to impossible!!New Wave Kiteboarding does it right!!! The lessons are in a bay near Stuart, FL. in waist deep water. My instructor Billy was knowledgeable and patient. During my first lesson I managed to get up and sail for a 100 feet or so. Billy was very enthusiastic and encouraged me when at times it can be frustrating. I've just taken my second lesson and I'm beginning to get the hang of it.The sport has a tough learning curve but when you get it you get it!! I encourage anyone thinking of learning to Kiteboard to use New Wave Kiteboard!!! Less

two of us have just arrived from Scotland. The water here is significantly less icy than the waters of the Broomie Law (the River Clyde) and so maybe coaching is less challenging but this guy, Billy, he was just awesome. Very patient with the two of us overweight 53 year olds - and both of us got up on the board at the end of our sessions with Billey (we had each come with 3 previous lessons back In Scotland but neither of us had got up on a kiteboard). I've been a kiteboarding wannabe for a few years now. Every time I visit Delray Beach and see the folks kiteboarding there I stop and say to myself "that looks like so much fun!" But the idea of learning in pounding surf was a bit intimidating. This visit I did some research and signed up for lessons with Jeremy Lund and his team at New Wave Kiteboarding. The shallow water bay where they teach was a perfect learning experience. No worry about crashing the kite into anyone on a beach, and no pounding surf to navigate while learning to control the kite. I took a private lesson in early April and was quite pleased with the location, equipment and instruction. If your budget allows I really recommend a Private Lesson vs. Group Instruction to increase your chances of getting up. I didn't get up after my 2.5 hours of instruction but there is a great deal to learn and would now expect that it would take 2 or 3 sessions before one could reasonably expect to be successful. If you are staying in the West Palm Beach area the location is a bit of a drive but well worth it Less
