So happy to have found this daycare! My kids are enrolled in their Afterschool program and are allowed to join in the taekwondo classes for their age group, no extra charge. Homework is made a priority. I am pleased that the Coaches and Masters are teaching the kids to have respect for each other as well as adults, to be good losers AND winners, encouraging them to try something again if they fail and cheering each other on. It is hard to find good child care and I feel fortunate to have my kids with this great group of people. Less

We got recommendations about Legacy Marial Arts from my good friend. After the first class my boys were ready to join and commit! We got their uniforms at a school the same day ! They got their pictures taken in them, welcomed and journey begun! They love their instructor! We also love that there are other activities for a whole family. My daughters have learned so much in the few months we’ve been going to Legacy! They also love coming here and strive to do their best, they’ve even learned how to count in Korean! My son has been taking Taekwondo in the Little Champs program at Legacy for around 4 months. He had major surgery when he was younger and has been in PT for several years. Taekwondo helps him continue to improve his core strength and balance, while also working on focus and discipline and building self confidence. The "Kids Martial Arts" program at Legacy in Irmo has been great for our three boys. They're always excited for each class and stay engaged throughout the session. The instructors actively involve all students, keep the sessions fun and full of encouragement, and often provide individual attention. The drills are great for learning martial arts, but the program as a whole strongly promotes self-confidence, leadership, and sportsmanship. My daughter has been taking now for about five months and absolutely loves it. I think the coaches do an excellent job and my daughter has learned a great deal. What I appreciate most is she is learning a form of self defense and getting a good workout in the process. She also has gained self confidence which is important for her age. My son has been going there for a few months now. He has suffered from bullying and ADHD. He has soared with loving martial arts. Master Sim makes the classes fun, energetic, yet teaches discipline. I've never been disappointed. His confidence has grown and this year he says he is making friends. Priceless. In fact, we knew we would not have time to do soccer and and karate this year. We love Legacy! We moved to SC in March 2021 from MA and Legacy has been a great way for my oldest son (4) to get involved and meet new friends. It has also been a great way for him to burn his extra energy, work on following direction, listening skills, focus and discipline. We were in the process of relocating and needed some summer activities for our 3yo and 8yo. Legacy gave us great short term options(as we weren't sure where we would live permanently) and the children eagerly went to class for the next few weeks. There were protocols in place to allow for everyone to be safe and the children to have a class. There was also attention given for new members to ensure they were learning at their own speed. This place is great! I have gone to this Taekwondo studio for just over three years and my experience here has only been getting better. Legacy Martial Arts has an amazing program for little kids, teens, and adults. They have different classes for different levels of skill and for differing belt levels. Legacy's curriculum also includes a weapons class and black belt club for more advanced learners. Throughout your Taekwondo journey, you will learn valuable soft skills such as responsibility and integrity. Last but not least, the coaches. All Taekwondo coaches are determined to help your child to become the best they can be. They are all incredibly kind and they care about you and your life. One person in particular I would like to point out is Coach Tae. Coach Tae is responsible for most of the new students who come to Legacy and I believe that they could not function without him. My son has been with Master Kim for over 5 years now and has loved every minute of it. It sometimes amazes me because my son was 9 when he started with Master Daniel Kim is now 14. My son still loves going to class and his closest friends are from the studio, which I know he counts Master Kim as one of those friends. My son is also on the HS Football team and is now a starting running back in large part to being a part of this studio. He works harder and is mentally tougher than almost anyone else on the field because of his TKD training... Master Kim cares about the students and tries to get the very best out of them. This is NOT a black belt factory. You have to do the work and earn your Black Belt, but the students that have earned their Black Belt know they did earn it and are very proud of it. I can not say enough kind words about this place. If your kid is looking to build long lasting friendships and earn something they will be proud of for the REST of their lives, then this is the place to start. Less
