In November 2020, at the age of 58, I walked into South Island CrossFit looking for a more aerobic workout to partner with my yoga practice. Coach Daniel put me through a basic routine to analyze where I was, then actively listened as I explained my fitness goals. I was so impressed by Coach D's professional yet compassionate demeanor, and the cleanliness of the gym & equipment, that I signed up that day for private sessions. Over the next seven months, Coach D helped me rebuild stamina, muscle mass, and regain range of motion, all of which I thought were lost. He never gave up on me, and on Memorial Day 2021, I participated in my first Murph. Words can't describe how wonderful and powerful I felt; it was better than when I finished my first half-marathon. It's changed my life, and my family loves having their happier, more energetic wife/mom/Nana back.
