Align therapy is by far one of the best physical therapy practices out there. I have been working with them for over two years now for multiple injuries: Herniated disc, back surgery, shoulder surgery, tendinitis. Their level of care exceeds my expectation and it always feels personalized. I am a bit of a veteran in the PT world and have worked with all of the therapists there. All of them are great, and it goes beyond someone helping me recover: they are my friends. Despite this, we are still getting work done. My son was recently diagnosed with a moderate case of scoliosis, and we were referred to Align for their unique experience with the Schroth Method (exercises specifically tailored for those with scoliosis). Due to an insurance issue, we could only attend Align for a short period of time, but the therapists worked within that timeframe to teach my son the entire exercise regime, and ensure he mastered it. The entire staff were so incredibly attentive, knowledgeable and kind. I mean really, they truly cared about my son and his interests, and treated him as a whole person and not simply another client. This office is absolutely amazing. Everyone is super friendly, the receptionists are always helpful and kind and always take the time to answer any questions I might have. I've really enjoyed my appointments with my physical therapist Char as she gives me great cues and guidance the whole hour and is with me the whole time and gives great verbal and physical feedback so I can really know where to send the breath and how to modify correctly. Char really takes the time to know what exercises would be most beneficial for me to work on that day and is not afraid to trouble shoot and think outside of the box when it comes to modifying and applying any exercise I might have a question on how to modify to make it work with the specific curb of my spine . I have loved learning the different Schroth exercises and learn about my specific type of scoliosis. David Butler was really patient and informative in answering all my questions and it was helpful to get x-Rays and imaging done to get better awareness and understanding of my spine and to track improvement. Working through the Schroth program at Align Therapy has helped tremendously with my mind body awareness and to feel and know where my body is in space so that I am now better equipped to apply the Schroth principles to every day life and other exercises I enjoy. I feel so much more empowered to modify exercises on my own after having learned and practice the Schroth exercises daily these past 4 months and can see how it has helped me not only feel better and stronger but I feel like I am finally in a position to start to improve with other exercises such as strength training as now muscles that were not firing before are able to fire correctly because of prober posture and breathing. I have found those exercises so beneficial that I even installed some permanent stall wall bars and mirrors in my home so that I have everything I need always ready for some "do it anytime" quick Schroth exercises and breathing. My experience with Align Therapy has been superb, and they deserve all the good reviews that you see here. Their staff is extremely talented, knowledgeable, and friendly, and they are trained and certified for proven, research-based Scoliosis treatment. They really care about their patients, and it shows in so many ways. I wasn't diagnosed with Scoliosis until just recently (I'm 35), and I had just been coping with symptoms for years until I had pain I couldn't ignore. I was diagnosed with an AVM when I was younger, and although it explained some of my problems, I felt like I was missing a pretty major piece of the puzzle. TLDR; Align Therapy is special --------- I came to Align Therapy because of pain in my lower back and neck. Over the years I have tried many different place, but Align Therapy is special. Mostly everyone's first impression of a doctor's office is with the front desk. I found it easy to contact them online or via phone. Jenny was responsive to my questions and ensuring my issues were addressed in a timely manner. I liked that I was able to take my time at home to fill out the intake paperwork online, so I could be thorough. I also received plenty of reminders so I won't forget appointments, which I appreciate. Next was my time spent with Dr. Butler. I was on time and so was he. He took time to get to know me and ask pertinent questions. He was able to evaluate my problem and explained what he was seeing. Then he asked if that sounded right to me to make sure I felt heard. After that he explained the treatment plan and why it was going to work. Next was accountability and implementation. I was sent an email with videos of how to do the exercises. With very attainable and sustainable goals. I was able to quickly feel results. Jenny took the time to try and set me up with the same PT Assistant each time so that they would be familiar with the progress I was making. I have been working with Janessa, she has been extremely knowledgeable, personable, and motivating to work with. Every time we meet it seems like we are trying something a little bit different, which helps me feel the progress. On top of that I am feeling the difference, for the first time in years I have felt pain in my back diminish. I can crack my back again and have movent in parts I thought were fused. While I have a ways yet to go I am feeling stronger in my back and less on guard that it was going to go out. I wish the Schroth Method had been available to me in my youth. I’m 66 now and have battled discomfort from my scoliosis my whole life. Came to Align after over a year being injured which ended in ankle surgery. After months in casts and boots, I had a lot of pain walking and was pretty discouraged about ever getting back to an active lifestyle. At that point, I would have settled for the ability to walk through Costco or get to my gate at the airport without needing help. What I love about Align: 1) Dave manages his clinic so you get time with him as well as another therapist, meaning I got access to his experience and expertise. 2) He and Janessa helped me set and work toward specific goals. 3) I always understood EXACTLY what I needed to do at home to continue progressing. Starting to be able to do more gave me confidence that Dave and Janessa weren't crazy when they told me I was going to be mountain biking and skiing again--THIS YEAR. Yes, I can now shop pain-free in Costco and have no problem getting to my gate, even when it's on the B concourse. My surgeon was amazed at my 4 month check and two days ago I achieved my number 1 therapy goal--cross country skiing again--five months before the anniversary of my surgery. I was referred to Align Physical Therapy at the end of July after being turned down for back fusion surgery by a neurosurgeo because of extreme arthritis problems that have led to scoliosis in my lower back and neck. I was apprehensive and pretty down, feeling like I was in a no win situation and destined for limited mobility and a lot of pain for the rest of my life. It has been 2 1/2 months now, and although I am far from being well, David Butler and his whole team have restored hope and helped me conquer the fears I mentioned above. I have a lot more mobility now, and the pain has diminished significantly. I am so grateful for each of the people in this office. They are truly miracle workers, and in addition to their tremendous skills and knowledge, there are two things that they are doing that are making a real difference in my life. I know they truly CARE, and they have given me HOPE! I am sure I will never be totally free of the problems with this condition, but I know that with their help I can continue to lead a pretty normal life! I had a total knee replacement while in CA. I was in pretty bad shape when I moved to Utah. I started at Align Therapy as it was located close to my home in Lehi. My care has been exceptional!!! I had to have a 2nd surgery as things weren't done correctly during 1st procedure. Janessa worked with me weekly to prepare me for my surgery. Focusing mainly on strengthening so that my recovery after surgery would be successful. It has worked!!! If you've been waiting to see a Physical Therapist . . . don't! My PT is a vital member of my "maintenance crew." I can't figure everything out on my own! I can spend time and money fixing a problem early or I can wait, let it snowball, and spend more time and money later. A friend recommended Align/Dave Butler to me after I had been dealing with knee pain during and after running for more than six months, despite seeing a few different specialists about it. I was starting to lose hope that anything was going to help, but I had my eye on two 12-hour mountain ultramarathons and one road marathon, all within less than two months, and I knew if I wanted to be able to finish them (and finish well), I needed to deal with the issue. I came to Dave for a consult first, and within 15 minutes, he had given me hope that the issue was something we could actually fix--with a combination of in-office treatment and at-home strength exercises. I saw him five more times over the course of the next two months, and he not only properly diagnosed and help me treat the knee pain (actually a hamstring issue--go figure!), as well as a range of other small issues that were cropping up during my training and racing. In turn, I was able to run each of my events pretty much pain free, hit my goals (finished first in each 12-hour event and broke 3 hours in the marathon for my first time--after 22 years of marathoning!), and feel confident in my body's ability to do these things for the first time in a while. I really appreciate David and how he works with scoliosis patients with the Schroth Method exercises. His techniques have helped me with the pain I deal with and has helped me strengthen my core specific to my curves.
