I decided to give Driveway Armor a try and support a local business in our area, especially during these uncertain times with the pandemic. Although I have sealed our driveway before several times since we moved here,7 years and three seal coats later, I never had a problem. We gave Driveway Armor a try since we saw their lawn signs throughout the neighborhood. What a mistake. Their rep came to my home to look and give a quote. He actually pointed out a few quarter sized peel marks and told me " see these, that's what happens when the other companies use the cheap water based sealer... we don't use that one" We got the job done in spring of 2020. The recommended time to stay off the driveway after the completion of the job is 3 days. We stayed off the driveway for 5 days for good measure. Its started to peel within a few weeks. I called the office and told them of the situation. They said they would send a rep to look at it. The guy came that week and agreed it was not good and doesn't know why it peeled , but offered to come back a re-seal the areas. I said great, thank you. They came back a few weeks later, re-sealed the peeling areas and left. However, fast forward to Feb, 2021, 6 months later, and its really peeling and scaling again. I will have to re-do the whole driveway come spring. Obviously by another company. DON'T USE. Less

We were excited until we finally parked our cars in the driveway. When we got out of our vehicles, the entire left side had tire marks. Looked like someone was burning their tires out on the drive way. Right away we removed the two vehicles and looked over the marks. It looked horrible. Remind you, it never rained, no one step foot on the driveway, and the temperature was mild. I called the office to only be told that "this was normal" and to give it 3 to 4 weeks and the marks would go away. After 5 weeks, the marks were still there. Neighbors, friends and family all asked "what is wrong with the driveway?" Embarrassed, I said that's what happens due to the "special sealer" they use as I was told. I called the office back and the person who answered the phone said it didn't sound normal what was happening after I explained what was going on for the second time. I sent pictures to the office in which I was told that they will get in contact with the manufacturer, Seal Master from PA, and should hear back in a few days. After a week and a half went by, I was getting concerned. I called for the third time to speak with someone different, again, explaining myself, about the situation and the photos. This person said she will call me back right away once she found out what is going on. I didn't hold my breath but was happy to hear back the same day that someone will come out to look at the driveway. A few days later, a representative from Seal Master came to my home to address the tire marks. This gentleman fought tooth and nail to defend the company he worked for and stated every reason under the sun why this was "normal". He mentioned weather, seasons, the use of the driveway etc. Things that have not threatened the driveway. After politely asking him why did this happened when three other times from a different company it never happened? No really good answer other than it normal base on the sealer they use. Strange enough, standing on my driveway for about 20 minutes, he found some areas that the seal coat didn't seal correctly. I'm thinking to myself "finally"! He took some pictures who he said he will share with his manager and the owner of Driveway armor. Two days later, I get a text message, not a call, a text stating this is not something Driveway Armor doe not warranty, thank you and have a good day. I couldn't believe it, a text message and that's it. No phone call from a manager, anyone to explain to me what's up?! The very next day I called the office to speak to the person who sent me the message. They connected me and I asked for further clarification. I asked Brandon, the person who text me, did he speak to the seal master representative, Ray, and looked over my pictures that Ray also took. Brandon replied with "what pictures?". That when I finally spoke to Ed from DA and Mike from SM, whom neither would further help me. As passionate as I was trying to get it fix or re done, they both decline and set me on my way. At first they said the driveway was wet when I took the pictures (it was not). Then they referred me to the original contract and noted that there was "flaking" on the driveway before they sealed it. Total nonsense and lots of excuses. Clearly, there was something wrong with either their process or the seal coat materials they used. Driveway Armor just lost a repeat customer...and future customers. Anyone who asks me about Driveway Armor -- and they do a lot of work in the area -- will be urged to look elsewhere. That's no way to run a business. IN RESPONSE TO DRIVEWAY ARMOR'S REPLY, notice how the excuse changes from "flaking" to "customer driver habits." They're grasping at straws. The driveway in question is a TYPICAL RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY SUBJECT TO TYPICAL USE WITH NO TRUCKS OR COMMERCIAL VEHICLES. Driveway Armor sealed my driveway yesterday. I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of their work. The edges along the garages, walkway, belgium blocks and sidewalk are meticulous. My experience with Driveway Armor has not been positive. I spoke with their telephone representative in early September and based on a previous estimate, I scheduled the work to be done the week of September 20th while we were away on vacation and sent a check for the job. While away, I received an email that the technician wanted our driveway powerwashed before the job could be completed. We returned, the driveway was powerwashed and the appointment was rescheduled. I thought. When they did not come, I called again and was told that there had been miscommunication and the technicians had not been informed that the driveway was prepared. Today is October 22nd. The technicians finally arrived but instead of patching the driveway in areas that need it which was part of the estimate, I thought, they simply applied some sealer over cracks and said they didn't have the material with them to patch any deteriorating areas. I called and spoke with their representative who has not yet gotten back to me. I can't understand how a professional company would seal a driveway if patching is needed first. I told the representative that I need an immediate answer and want to schedule with a different company but apparently customer satisfaction is not a priority. Rochelle East Brunswick Less
