Dishonest or ignorant, take your pick! I called Service Relief because my 5 year old heating unit wasn't working. They advised me the unit needed to be replaced for $8k. I called another service company who repaired my existing unit the same day for less than $500.

Despite ending up with a slightly bigger pipe repair than originally thought, Mike was able to get it fixed and replaced with new piping within 90 minutes and even shop-vac'd the water off the basement floor. Which they said they would get an electrician and hang the one piece of Sheet rock back. I haven't heard back from service relief since April. I was disappointed that they didn't get back to me with an explanation or to complete the repair. I wanted to use their services again but was waiting to see if they would complete the repair but so far nothing.If this changes I will update. Update on review. On 9/16/2024 the electrician came and installed the outlet for the sump pump. Which completed the job. Nicole was polite and helpful with getting this repair done. BEWARE! Context: When we turned our garden hose on this spring we noticed that it started leaking into the basement. I hadn't worked with plumbing much and I didn't really want to deal with it, so I searched for outside help to fix the issue. This lead me to calling and scheduling an appointment with Service Relief LLC. Mike showed up on time as scheduled. I walked him around the house and in the basement to show him where the issue was. He probably looked at it for less than 3 minutes and said (in summary) that you likely need to replace your outdoor faucets altogether. They are the cheaper kind and likely busted over time. He then quotes me to replace both of of our faucets for..... Wait for it.... $800! I immediately said that this isn't going to work out and Mike responded that he might be able to talk to his management for a better price. I said no. Granted, after the conversation I had, I knew this was a fairly simple replacement job. So I did a quick Google search... Went to home depot, spent $100 on two NICE new outdoor faucets with frost protection. It took me 45 min max to install myself without knowing anything prior. So.... That leaves $700 for labor? Hmmmmmm Less

Our service tech, Armando was great. Very personal and professional. He performed great work and educated us along the way. Both jobs required him to break through plaster-like walls and title in order to complete the repair, not easy at all! Second time he’s been to our house for work and both times we were very pleased with the result.

When she provided me with a quote, I was floored! I had forgotten about the $69.00 service fee upon arrival of the technician (sorry Nicole) but even with that, their price was extremely competitive compared to five other companies I had called. I also appreciate Nicole sending texts concerning the work order. My service technician Armando was punctual (actually early), professional, knowledgeable,  humorous, courteous, energetic and humble. Furthermore, Armando was diligent when disconnecting an old gas range that according to him "must have been installed by the Hulk." As I mentally betted on Armando, he went out and came back in from his very attractive service vehicle and voila...I won the bet. Armando's persistence paid off, "the Hulk" was no match for him. You may not believe me, but Armando swept debris from behind the old range that undoubtedly had been there for a while and he offered to mop. I called Service Relief around 1pm about a water heater that was broken. It was leaking water all over the place and I called Service Relief. They fixed and replaced everything including a brand new water heater within 2 hours. It was the most amazing response time I've ever seen from a company. Highly recommended!

Update: while first experience with Armando was outstanding, the second experience Aug. 2022 with Martin was very poor. BEWARE OF SHODDY WORK! Martin is very kind and personable, but he initially quoted $2300 to move a toilet 3 feet across the bathroom to make a more direct route from the door to the tub for my ill wife. Martin said it would take a full day with 2 plumbers to cut and remove hvac ducts, move toilet, and reattach hvac. He was affable, seemed sincere and lowered the price to $1600+ when I questioned the cost. Note the bathroom is above the basement with clear access except where the hvac was close to being in the way. Work was scheduled within a couple of days thanks to Nicole in the office and Martin. As they were cleaning up, the toilet fully bolted to the floor, I brought in my level to check the toilet set for level. It was way off side to side and front to back. They suggested shims but blamed their inability to level it on the floor tile. The job was done in a half day, there was no need to move the hvac, and Martin left to run back to the store at least 2x. Once because the masonry bit broke. I lent them my shop vac to drain the toilet when theirs didn't work. I contacted Nicole regarding concerns that I was charged for what was a full day, the toilet wasn't level, nor caulked at the base to hide the large gap. She investigated and spoke with the owner and refunded $250. The truth is always somewhete in the middle in these situations, and sometimes the truth is skewed toward one or the other person's point of view. Martin reported when I found the toilet unlevel they had not finished. He reported he told me they could work around the hvac. The toilet leaked from the tank bolt starting right away, and plumber from a different company who came to install tub tried to fix it when he reseated the toilet after the tub install. The toilet still leaked from the tank then began seeping from under the almost 1/4" gap left by Martin and his helper. The second plumber came back and upon closer examination found that the first install did not include the washers under the tank between the gasket and bolt. The flange Martin had installed had a rise across the middle, and when trying to bolt the toilet to the floor the flange rose. Turns out Martin used PLASTIC anchors for some of the flange screws, so it warped the flange! Outcome: properly drilling all flange holes and installing washers correctly results in a level, nonleaky toilet. I would give this company 1 star but the first experience and Nicole's work was so helpful. At this point, I believe the job is still overpriced at @ $1390. Am new to CT and am disappointed that I can't count on Service Relief after I felt I could after the first experience: Armando and Ivan were very kind, professional, and efficient. They took time to help tag shut offs in the basement and show me how to use them. The water line install to the fridge is secure and well installed. I can't speak highly enough about these 2 young men and their sincerity and kindness when they learned I have an ill spouse. They were respectful of the house in wearing boot covers and were happy to wear masks. Service Relief is our go to from now on. Less
