She had to basically carry me to her van where i laid in the back until we got there. After my first session, not gonna lie, i felt like i got beat up. my muscles were sore but it was a new kind of pain. I took a nap when i got home but when i woke up i was able to sit up on my own and eat some food for the first time in more than a month. The Doc scheduled me for another appointment later in the week. so i went. and again i felt sore but not in a bad way. another nap afterward and this time i was able to get up out of bed on my own accord and go to the bathroom. By my 4th session i was walking again. by my 5th i was able to go back to work. That was 7 or so years ago now maybe more. Since then ive been seeing Doc Hoekstra and i havent had a backslide to the state i was in before. Not once. i didnt have insurance at the time either but he made it incredibly afforable for me. but honestly if he had charged me more i wouldve paid it and it wouldve been worth every penny. I highly recommend Dr. Hoekstra, I remember the 1st time I went to him about 1 year ago I was so scared and in so much pain. He really takes his time with you. He’s knowledgeable and never in a hurry. His treatment always resolved the problem and reduced or eliminated the pain.

He makes you download/use an app to schedule appointments etc. Also, his hours are not very accommodating at all. Not to mention he forces his patients to listen to 90s alternative at obnoxious levels. Overall, I’d say get your chiropractic care elsewhere (because, chances are, his office is not open anyways!)

I have been seeing Dr. Hoekstra for about a month now for neck and shoulder pain. I always leave his office pain free and after a month my pain is substantially better.

I have been seen by Dr H for several years for lower back pain and bursitis. At times, I’ve barely been able to walk - the pain has been so great. Dr H’s treatment plan has always resolved the problem and reduced or eliminated the pain. He’s very personable and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend.

If this place doesn’t define snake oil and witch doctor medicine I don’t know what does. “I don’t use xrays before adjusting” is one of the things I was told. I walked out feeling worse than I did before being seen at this establishment. Chiropractic medicine seems to be a murky area but if you’re going to go down that road do yourself a favor and try anywhere but here.

Due to an insurance situation, I took a shot with Dr. Hoekstra's local practice. I found in my several visits that he has many varied tools to afford relief. Dr. Hoekstra is great! He really takes his time with you, and you never feel like a number with him. He's knowledgeable and is never in a hurry! Dr. Hoekstra provides chiropractic care for both my husband and I. He is incredibly flexible with appointment scheduling, and our treatment has been so beneficial that we drive an hour and a half (twice a week!) to see him.
