My family and I had many problems with the arrangements for my father’s funeral and burial with this funeral home. My family and I are not the type to complain. But some services you receive, for better or worse, deserve to be shared. Our experience included: -My late father’s name printed within the funeral program, reading the eulogy. At his own funeral. Clearly, no one proofread the program pamphlet. -Flowers ordered through Bennie Smith’s website by family members, who could not attend, not being delivered at the service. They provided no feedback or warning prior to the day of the service. -Multiple unreturned phone calls and emails. -Lying about reaching out the cemetery to secure a plot. Something me and my family had to rectify ourselves. Thank the lord the cemetery understood our situation, and kept our scheduled burial. Any other option for burial services should be taken over Bennie Smith. I can not stress it enough. Loosing a loved one is a very hard process as is. You want someone who is empathetic, experienced, and understanding to be coordinating your arrangements. We found Bennie Smith in Dover, Delaware to be unresponsive, uncoordinated, and downright disrespectful when confronted with problems. I would advise anyone to think twice to before inquiring about their services. Less
