I can’t say enough good things about Carol and her incredible dog training skills. She has been guiding me through every step as my dog is transitioning into becoming a service dog, and the results speak for themselves. Everywhere we go, people comment on how well-trained and well-behaved my dog is, and I always proudly recommend Carol. Her knowledge, patience, and attention to detail have made such a difference, and I feel confident knowing my dog is in the best hands. If you’re looking for a trainer who truly cares and gets amazing results, Carol is the one to go to! Less

Carol is an amazing dog trainer, and my experience working with WagtheDog.ca has been one of the most valuable and educational experiences of my life (which is saying something). Working with her (flexibly and collaboratively within my lived limitations and with easy accommodation I might add) helped me get my service dog ready for and through his public access test with flying colours. She is flexible about time and comes to you, which is amazing. Her understanding of dogs is comprehensive, which of course, we all want in a dog trainer, however it is her understanding of humans, and the human/dog relational dynamic that really sets her apart and sets this business apart. In addition to the extremely high competency and professionalism, Carol is unwaveringly committed to her clients, and invests in your success, and in your dog's success. As an owner/trainer of my psychiatric service dog I was drowning and had no support from any government or organization and almost no resources to help me prepare my pup for disability-related tasks , though we muddled through with articles and YouTube and choice-based training guides. I was, however completely at sea on public access training, not knowing how to even start, what I could legally do, what my/our rights were. My little dude is incredibly smart, and incredibly stubborn and I was failing in my efforts, near hopeless that he could ever be ready to access public space, let alone pass the required test. From the moment of our first phone call, Carol took everything in hand, supported me, reassured me, and taught me everything I needed to get him ready, and, because of her, I now have a fully certified psychiatric service dog who LOVES his job and I have the tools to adapt to most new situations. I also know that when I cannot adapt, when I am again at sea, she is there and will always be able to set us back on course. She is an exceptional human being and any family, person, or dog will be better for working with this company. Her knowledge, skills, and expertise cannot be overstated, and I cannot reccommend her, or Wagthedog.ca more highly. On a personal note, as a result of a nasty neighbour and the ignorance of most people about the work of psychiatric service dogs and their training, my service dog was forcibly taken from me by a bigoted and discriminatory BC SPCA constable. In crisis, not knowing what my rights were, what their authority was, how to get him back, I reached out for help and Carol, once again, took things in hand. She supported us, worked tirelessly for over a week and helped with statements and reviewing evidence and even came to the assessment I was forced to undergo with a dog behaviourist. She saved us, and I have no doubt that without her help that organization would have done everything they could (as it was I had to fight 3-4 lawyers in a documentation war over 10 days) to threaten and coerce me and keep him from me. As it was we were separated for ten days and the damage caused to him and to me was significant. I have no doubt Carol's support and help in this crisis mitigated that damage, also significantly. Now that he is home, and we have half a dozen new problems and trauma-related behavioural issues to address before his next testing date in December, I know that there is no one better to help us assess and correct those harms and I have no doubt that her skills and expertise will be invaluable in repairing our relationship and in repairing the harm done to his ability to work and to LOVE his job again. Carol is really spot on with our concern of our 2 dogs. We know what we have to pay attention to from her lessons to us / as human also the dogs. It is a great pleasure to see our dogs improvement from lesson to lesson. We are really glad that we have her and that she understand our problem and helping us. Hugs and Kisses to our dog trainer. Can't recommend Carol enough. We started working with her remotely from the moment our pup came home at 8 weeks, and now at 5 months Bear can already communicate with more subtlety than most humans I know. Instead of traditional positive reinforcement training we've committed to Jennifer Arnold's bond based approach with Carol. Frankly, we're already seeing results we were reading out loud from the book with awe only a few months ago. Bear is blissfully anxiety free and well on track to being a service dog for my disability (as well as being the goodest boi.) He's the calmest and most loving he's ever been. And this is at the height of teething, when we can see his gums are visibly swollen, red, and tender. Not to say there haven't been tough moments... But I can say with confidence that with Carol on our side, it's hard to imagine a puppy challenge we couldn't overcome. Thanks for making the ever-changing experience of puppy raising less terrifying and overwhelming! Less
