We hired FunFlicks for a large Community Night event for families and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. Our event was scheduled for 8:00 PM, and we specifically paid an additional $99 early-arrival fee for a 5:30 PM arrival because we wanted the screen fully set up and tested well before families began arriving. Setup was still being completed around 6:50 PM, as our families were beginning to arrive. What was particularly frustrating is that FunFlicks later told us that they allocate approximately an hour and a half for setup and testing for our screen arrangement. Had we not paid for early arrival and setup began around the standard 7:00 PM timeframe, that would have put completion after our scheduled 8:00 PM start. We then experienced technical difficulties when it was time to begin the movie, and members of our own staff had to become involved in troubleshooting. The movie ultimately started late. We hired a professional movie service specifically so our staff could focus on our students, families, and running the event rather than assisting with the audiovisual setup. Most concerning was an interaction with one of the technicians later that evening on the school campus. I reported the incident to FunFlicks, and management investigated it. To their credit, they acknowledged in writing that the customer service we experienced was unacceptable and told us corrective measures had been taken. However, I was disappointed with how the company ultimately resolved the overall experience. Our event cost $1,198 before taxes and fees. After I explained that our concerns involved the setup, delayed start, troubleshooting, and technician conduct, not simply one isolated interaction, the adjustment to this event was $99. Their additional offer was 50% off a future event.I explained that after this experience we were unsure we would hire FunFlicks again, so a future discount did not feel like a meaningful resolution. We ultimately paid the remaining balance.I don't expect events to go perfectly, and I understand that technical problems happen. What matters to me is how a company handles those problems and takes responsibility afterward. Unfortunately, based on both the event itself and the resolution offered afterward, I would not choose FunFlicks again for an event of this importance.
