6 months ago, I made a decision that I will forever be thankful for. 6 months ago, I drove to Cleveland to undergo head surgery that has ended my chronic migraines. For years, I have struggled with chronic migraines that left me feeling defeated. My daughter had migraine surgery performed by Dr. Guyuron in 2008, when she was nearly 18 ears old. Why have I waited so long to write a review? Dr. Guyuron performed a facelift, under eye and neck lift - I’m a 45 y.o. male and work in financial sales. Dr Guyuron and his staff are amazing. I have had chronic/intractable migraines for the better part of 9 years and 4 months with only a total of 189 days migraine free in all that time. I had a fall on the beach with concussion in November 2010 and by June 2011 I was in a chronic migraine at the back of my head. I woke up with them and went to sleep with them, I muddled through every day with them. I tried food elimination, cranial sacral work, chiropractic, nerve blocks, acupuncture, radio ablation, meditation, biofeedback, Botox, salt caves, and every medication they recommended including medical cannabis. No medication would eliminate them, no holistic approach and no plant based products would end my misery. I was diagnosed first with Basilar migraine, then complicated migraine, then hemiplegic migraine and finally Chronic intractable complex migraine. I have been on various brands of anti seizure medication, anti depressants, Maxalt, biologics, medical Cannabis, barbiturates, gabapentin, and opioids. All would help a little (reducing them only one or two points on the pain scale) but nothing would stop the migraine and it often made them worse. I learned about Dr Guyuron from another plastic surgeon in Santa Barbara I was referred to by a migraine patient on one of the medical boards. That Dr referred me to Dr Guyuron because it would be easier to drive to Ohio and in this age of Covid, probably safer. I made the initial appointment on FaceTime, filled out the paperwork and spoke to the doctor. Within the month, I was in Ohio and had the surgery on October 12th. I woke up from surgery with no migraine and have woken up every day since then with no migraine. The pain of the surgery is a walk in the park compared to the migraine. I have a little bit of a full feeling in my head but no real pain. I am three days out from surgery and I feel absolutely great! Awesome, actually. I can look at lights, I can hear music and not cringe, the dog barks, no pain and I feel like getting up and moving. I feel so good I have to remind myself to pace because I did, after all, just have surgery! The only thing that hasn’t resolved yet is the tinnitus, which I assume is caused by the swelling. This man saved my life. I developed a migraine on May 1, 2019. The headache had just about debilitating. I was spending 22 hours a day in bed. My name is Sandy and I would like to share my story with the purpose of bringing hope to those that have been disfigured and left traumatized by a plastic surgeon. My ordeal began when I had a car accident in which my nose became very crooked. The only way to fix my nose was through surgery, so In August of 2018 I decided it was time to take that step. I did my homework and chose a triple board certified doctor in my hometown of Las Vegas, NV. We agreed that my nose would be straightened and symmetry improved. To my horror, what I got was a botched surgery that completely devastated my life for over a year. This doctor completely annihilated my nose. He removed so much cartilage that my nose was disfigured , caused my nasal passages to cave in , injected my nose with fillers to disguise some of the damage , by the way which was done without my knowledge or consent, and above all, I lost the ability to breathe through my nose. For a whole year straight I had to live with flu like symptoms, anxiety and grief because my nose was not working properly. It was a complete nightmare!! I sought help for reconstructive surgery but many doctors turned me away. My final attempt was going to be a plastic surgeon in California. I have suffered for over 4 years with debilitating migraines. I’ve had 4 migraine surgeries which was successful to a point . But this last time that it came back it was in behind my eye , so my surgeon in Lexington Ky sent me to Dr.Guyuron . He used the Doppler to hear the blood vessel as soon as he put the Doppler where I pointed is picked it up . He then did a nerve block in that location within 5 minutes I was pain free . I’m writing this review Two months post surgery and I am so happy with my results. Dr. Guyuron preformed temple migraine surgery on me 3 weeks ago today. While I understand the final results from my surgery are yet to be determined, I'm pleased thus far. I am a physician who was seeking a facelift. I had a facelift done 12 years ago and I was referred to Dr. Guyuron by a plastic surgeon in my area. I was thrilled with the results at that time and when it came time to have a second facelift this year, I had no doubt that I wanted him to do the procedure. I am now 6 weeks post op from my second facelift and I am even happier with the results this time. I had fat transplanted into my cheeks this time in addition to usual facelift procedure. It came out FABULOUS! it was very natural looking and symmetrical. I also had a facial laser procedure for skin rejuvenation and removal of aging brown spots. It came out wonderfully well.
