Went in Sep 2026 on a sunny day, low 70s and 10mph wind. There were small waves in the river however we felt very safe being out there. It was a great experience, we rented 3 individual kayaks; my tiny frame 11 yr old did great in her own kayak. It was fairly easy to maneuver it even with the small waves. Moreover, it was very easy to book the experience with Alex; everything is done online but you can also call to confirm details (I would call ahead to ask about the wind forecast in the area for the day). If you want to start on time then I would plan to arrive at the location half an hour before your scheduled time. It will take time to park, pay the fee ($1.50/hr payable by card as of Sep 2026; you need to know your plate number at the pay station), get there (a few minutes walk through the parking lot to get to the sandy beach where the kayaks are located), sign the wavers and get ready for launch. All in all, go for it, it is a very pleasant, relaxing and fun experience. The scenary is beatiful too.

We had a wonderful time. Angel greeted us and told us everything we needed to know. He was helpful and funny! We will be doing this again and will bring more people for a great day of kayaking on the Hudson. Thanks Angel for being so helpful and encouraging!

We had an amazing experience at Hudson Kayaks. There service is phenomenal! Any questions were answered immediately over text. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Would recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy a day at the Hudson river.

My 7-year-old daughter has been asking to go paddling, so I searched for a canoe/kayak place nearby and found this place. We had gone paddling once before at a place near Princeton, so this was our second time.Andrew was so kind and helpful! He even offered to take a family photo for us and kindly lent us a phone case to keep our phones safe. 😊The equipment was also very clean and well maintained. At the place we visited near Princeton, the life jackets had a noticeable smell, but the ones here were very clean, which I really appreciated.My daughter and husband had such a great time canoeing! I unfortunately got a little motion sick, but we may come back again and let them try kayaking next time. ☺️
