Frankie is perfect and we're so happy she loves her forever home! After the sudden and very unexpected passing of my first dog, Sheldon, my other dog, Buster, and I were lost without him. We mourned a great deal and, while I knew I would eventually adopt another dog, I had not thought it would have been so soon after Sheldon's passing. However, the moment I saw Frankie's picture, I was in love with her because she looks like she could have been Sheldon's sister. After reading her bio and talking with Bluetails Pet Rescue, it sounded like Frankie had a lot in common with Sheldon and could be a wonderful fit with Buster. She was described as a playful and cuddly pup who loves to play fetch and who likes every person and dog she meets. After learning more about her, I was certain she would be a wonderful fit. I completed the adoption process for Frankie in mid to late November, but was informed that the rescue's transport van was in the shop. The staff at Bluetails were wonderful and provided me with updates until the van was finally repaired and they could bring Frankie to St. Louis where I would meet them to bring Frankie home. Frankie's transport day came on December 3rd and Bluetails provided regular updates on their ETA to STL which was important because I'm about a 3.5-4 hour drive from STL. I had to arrange it just right so I could meet them without either party waiting too long for the other because we both had long drive's ahead of us. The updates from Bluetails made for a very easy day with only about a 10 minute wait. That was great! Now, here we are. Tomorrow night marks one week that Frankie has been home and we are so lucky and thankful to have her in our lives. A friend referred to her as a "plug and play" dog. I hadn't heard of this before, so she explained that's a dog who just fits right in from the very first moment. That couldn't be more true! Frankie belongs with Buster and me, and we belong with her. I told them I had already left and wouldn't return until July 10. She said they could board the dog for $10 per day but never said anything about paying in advance. I never heard anything else until July 4 when I was informed that in order to hold Honey I would need to pay for the boarding up front. Why wasn't I informed of this on July 1? Then they sent a link for fastpayments.com and not bluetails. I again informed them I would not be paying any money in advance. At that point I was told Honey would need to be relisted and they would continue processing applications. And then Courtney sent me this after I told her it all sounded like a scam since I had never met Hobey in person, This is Courtney the founder of Bluetails. We have a very high reputation in our community. We take payments up front because PEOPLE always try to get a dog for free, or watch it for free etc. Feel free to call the Jefferson Parish animal shelter or the LASPCA and ask about our credibility. I was looking for a small dog and came across Bluetails. They were awesome from the beginning. Responsive throughout the entire process. They were patient with my lack thereof (HA!). Very disappointed in an adoption process that calls your vet before even personally reaching out to you as an applicant. Basing judgement about a pet's behaivor while they are visiting a vet's office is not the best way to go. Not to mention it's just rude to not even call the applicant first.

I had been following their Facebook page as my husband and I were looking to adopt another dog. I had put in an application, which I thought they had a very thorough application and vetting process, where they reached out to our vets, references and ensured our home check met their approval. I had corresponded with Tasha along the way who was extremely nice, professional, and patient with us. We ended up adopting our fur baby last weekend where we picked him up at a local adoption event. They provided us with informational paperwork for new animal parents, prior medical history, and dog food. I appreciate the professionalism of the staff and how they ensure they are putting their animals in the best care. I will definitely recommend Bluetails to anyone looking to adopt a fur baby! Less

I adopted a Maltese/Yorkie mix, Jazzy, about 3 years ago from Bluetails. They were very thorough in their investigation of my application and also kept an eye on things after Jazzy came into our home. Additionally, Courtney offers a boarding service that we have used multiple times. Jazzy loves going back to see her foster family. Can’t say enough great things about Courtney’s group💙

I have been working on adopting a dog for months.Today I was supposed to adopt my new best friend and they adopted her to someone else HOURS before.The president will treat you like trash too.I feel so bad for the dogs.And all the great families Im sure they deny.

The person I was communicating with had a negative undertone, made several unnecessary comments that were offensive and very hurtful. At times I felt attacked as if I was making up a story just to get a free dog, because according to this person "that's what people do." When you lose a pet that is a part of your family, you feel lots of emotions. To say this is a pet rescue, I didn't feel like this person was at all sensitive to my situation and even had the nerve to tell me he/she was "taking a lot of time with me and had other things to do." I can go on and on about our conversation but I will end with this, one should not feel dismissed when speaking to an associate. Bluetails needs to do better with training their employees (volunteer and all) on how to communicate properly. I was trying to support your organization and provide a loving home for one of your pets but I was handled as if I was TOO MUCH TROUBLE and TAKING UP TOO MUCH TIME. Not professional AT ALL and Not an organization I would recommend supporting! Less

It sounds weird to note this, but hear me out. The women I dealt with handled me well. My attention span can be weak, especially in a new situation, with new people, and with animals. I get overwhelmed and unfocused. They had the reins. They helped me get through this as much as they helped my new dog. I would suggest anyone looking to adopt start here. And it all comes down to "one adoption saves two lives." Less

A wonderful pet adoption organization!

Everyone at bluetails was so friendly! They have their hands full, for sure. Peanut, formally Mellow, is a happy little guy. They told me how they lost out money wise for him, but didn't ask for more with his adoption fee. I'm so happy my application was approved!

We have adopted two dogs from Bluetails and they're both wonderful pets! Truffle is a 1.5 year old Schnauzer Poodle mix and our first rescue after losing our 10 year old mini Schnauzer to cancer. I was devastated after the loss of my elderly dog, I was looking to adopt and it was a hard choice but bluetails worked with me and made the process so easy and enjoyable for me. The baby I adopted was heart worm positive and blue tails gave my dog treatment to become heartworm negative with NO COST to me. I highly recommend and love the ladies at bluetails !

I cannot recommend adopting from bluetails more! We adopted Susie, a Jack Russell terrier mix 5 months ago and it was such a great experience that when I saw Susie’s sister from the same litter was still available to adopt this month we adopted her as well! Courtney was quick and easy to communicate with and incredibly helpful with any questions.

Blue Tails is a fabulous organization and a great advocate for animals. The volunteers are very hands on and involved with the foster dogs and show much care and concern for their animals. Kudos to Bluetails and all of their hard work.

Had a very good experience adopting from this group. We were thoroughly vetted before getting our dog and they provided her with all her veterinary needs prior to handing her over to us, like vaccinations spaying micro chipping etc. Adoption prices very reasonable. Courtney gave her time for a comfortable and relaxed home visit which was appreciated.

Courtney comes to our house twice a day to snuggle and walk our dogs during the week. I could not ask for a more responsible, pet loving, proactive, communicative person! I rest easy at work knowing that Courtney has it covered with my pets. She is a godsend.

Courtney came to our rescue to take care of our 3 fur babies when we had to go out of town. She keeps you updated on how they are doing and goes above just caring for your pet! We definitely will be calling Blue Tails next time we will be away.
