I had also spent hundreds of dollars on massage therapy which would give temporary relief but didn't seem to be solving any underlying issue. I decided to try a physical therapist as an alternative. Having known Luke for several years from sports leagues and through friends he was naturally my first choice once RecoverRx Physical Therapy - Oakbrook Terrace was open. Luke spent a considerable amount of time reviewing my activity history, pain areas, mobility, flexibility, and concerns. We then went through a variety of physical tests to identify the nature of my hip and low back pain issues and soon discovered the primary culprit as an imbalance in my hips (i.e. my hips were out of alignment). Luke devised a personal treatment plan to help with the alignment issue and then also build strength in key leg muscles that would help maintain that alignment going forward. I also had Luke treat me twice with dry needling to release some major trigger points (knots) in my back and glutes that had developed over time as a result of repeated stress and likely this prolonged misalignment. There was almost instant relief with the needling treatment. For full disclosure there will be some residual soreness (you are getting poked with a needle after all) but the longer-term relief is more than worth it. All in all RecoverRx Physical Therapy - Oakbrook Terrace was a fantastic experience. Luke is extremely knowledgeable and spent considerable time with me to make sure he got the diagnosis right. In my early 40’s it’s a necessary treatment plan to when I push it in the gym(trying to act like I’m still in my 20’s), incur an small muscle tweak, we adjust it and diffuse the situation so it doesn’t become a major issue. I came in about 6 or so weeks ago with a rotator cuff problem and in those six weeks David helped me work through it and get back to 100% so I am painless in my lifts. I’m honestly blown away with the results! I attend a CrossFit gym 2 times a week. After finally getting the hang of doing pull-ups, I began to notice a pain in my inner elbow - Golfer’s Elbow. I tried to regularly ice a the elbow on my own, but the pain was now lingering everyday without much aggravation, opening a door-knob for example resulted in pain. I checked out other free PT sessions in the area, but no conclusive answer or remedy besides stretching and ice. I was recommended by a friend to see Luke, extremely professional fellow, who has a strong resume in the PT community. He was able to quickly diagnose the issue as a tendentious (and some long medical term) aka Golfer’s elbow and suggested dry needling along with a program of excersizes. Luke shows patience and he really cares, as he routinely checks in with me. Results have been amazing! I’m a skeptic of funky things like acupuncture, dry needling is in a similar genre. It took 3 sessions, the pain is completely gone, and I’m back to CrossFit! Less

Luke listened to my prior history and was able to create a custom plan tailored to what I wanted to accomplish. Luke was very understanding of my prior frustrations and setbacks, that I had from prior establishments. He was able to work alongside my other mobility programming from another coach, adding in dry needling and other manual techniques to make it more successful. I was a competitive rock climber in my youth (14 to 19) and am still actively climbing roughly 2 times weekly for 2 or 3hrs each session. I have developed a lot of strange injuries and tightness from climbing, Luke has always been available when something would flare up. He has also educated me about how important a proper warm-up and cool down are, even created a tailored plan to make things easier. I attend regular Crossfit classes and have Olympic lifting programming I follow regularly throughout the week. Luke has helped me recover and stay injury free in all aspects of my training.
