She has early stage dementia, so I project managed and she weighed in on design and financial decisions. Every single member of the Altec team understood my challenges and treated her with the utmost respect. They also helped make suggestions about best practices for aging-in-place and adapted plans quickly when we ran into *many* weird issues in her 1980s house. Speaking to him he was up front about it was not going to be a quick fix.If we wanted to make changes we can negotiate what the Insurance pays to what it will cost. My wife and I had an idea of what we would like to do with our kitchen since we had to tare it up anyway. I will not lie it took a lot longer than we anticipated. When you have multiple people you have to plan to come together not everyone has the same schedule. Living out of boxes is tuff especially with a disabled daughter and wife.Shawn was nice enough to install a temporary sink so my wife didn't have to handle the heat of the garage. As this project was progressing we were giving Shawn instructions on what we wanted but then tweaking it in the middle of the project. I am not the easiest person to get along with (just ask my wife) but Shawn took it like a trooper. All said and done my wife and I are very happy with the job they have done. Our kitchen is very beautiful and now my wife has the kitchen that she has always wanted. We were so empressed that we hired them to install a new floor in our living room and replace a French door.I checked around on price and he always came in a lot cheaper than other contractors. He does a great job and he is very honest. The work on our house was no small task, but Altec Construction took care of business and exceeded our expectations! Throughout the planning, permitting, and renovation process, Shawn, the project manager, stopped by often to check on his crew and to keep us informed as to their progress. If we knew his size, we’d get Shawn a superhero costume for all the times he went above and beyond. He patiently listened to our concerns and ideas. He made sure that the work that was hidden behind the walls and underneath the flooring was of the same high quality as the finishes that we could see. Very disappointed in the service I received. A team worked here for three months restoring my lower level after a broken water pipe. Everything went fairly smooth with the repairs and the team was very friendly and accommodating for the most part. A week after completion of the reconstruction I had a leak in my upstairs master bath by the tub. I called Altec right away. Someone came out within a few days but the leak could not be found. Over the course of a couple weeks and five different guys coming here, the leak was finally located and repaired. Turns out it was a tiny hole in the grout which I found, not Altec. What disappoints me is the fact that one guy in particular, I was requesting to not come out to the house because he didn’t seem to know what he was doing, yet he returned on two other occasions. This leak repair took 2 1/2 months to complete and drywall was cut out of my water closet. My request for completion seemed to be annoying the head guys at Altec. I was then requested to pay a huge bill for a tiny leak repair in the grout. The job was never even completed and the huge hole in my drywall left unfinished. Altec wanted an exorbitant amount to get this repaired, but I was consistently told that they were backed up and didn’t have time to fix it. I had to find an outside person to finish the job for far less money. Furthermore, the one guy who I did not want to return to my home always had his phone on speaker and I heard the head guy from Altec saying that he did not want to do this job and didn’t have time for it. Why did he not tell me that in the first place? Very disappointed and will never call on them again. The final bill also noted plumbing repair, when the plumbing was never ever touched Less
