Great personal training in Park Slope. Small group sessions give the benefits of personal training attention while still having other friends/members to work out with. Paul and the coaches are awesome and have built a great community of awesome members.
Hands down wonderful gym experience! The instructors are knowledgeable, friendly, attentive and encouraging. Group sizes are fairly small which gives the instructors more of an opportunity to help you and keep you motivated. The community of people who come to Lapine are also great. Everyone is working towards their own goals, and we’re all cheering each other on. 10/10 place to workout

Earlier this year I realized that I had fallen into a fitness slump. While it was easy to motivate myself to do a cardio workout, strength training often felt like a chore. I also struggled with consistency. I knew I needed to find a gym where I could be held accountable, but I didn’t want to have to rush to sign up for a desirable time slot or get stuck with a 6 am session because it was the only one available. Lapine Fitness Studio (LFS) showed up as an ad on my Instagram and I soon found myself on a zoom call with the founder Paul Lapine. My goal was to find out more information but by the end of our conversation, I had scheduled my first workout! It’s been 3 months, and I haven’t looked back. A lot of times when you join a gym it can feel intimidating or impersonal, but LFS is the opposite. When you enter the space, you’re typically greeted with a friendly hello and introduced to the other people training with you that day. Since it’s small group personal training, you have 1 trainer and then a max of 4 people working with that trainer. At the most there will never be more than 8 people total training in the gym at one time. This setup enables a high level of personal attention without the higher cost of one-on-one training. Additionally, the other members I’ve interacted with are all nice and friendly and it generally seems like a welcoming and supportive community. Each person has their own workout station and an individualized workout plan that aligns with their goals and interests and takes into consideration any injuries you might have. The trainers walk around, continuously checking in, correcting your form, and giving you tips. They also set up your equipment so you’re ready to go for the next set. In the time that I’ve been there I’ve been surprised at how much stronger I’m getting. I’m lifting weights heavier than I’ve lifted in my life. When left to my own devices I don’t push myself in the weight room. Here I’ve learned I’m more capable and stronger than I thought. Overall LFS is one of the best gyms that I’ve been a member of. Can't say enough good things about Paul and this studio. I joined up with Paul and his squad in November 2023 to train for an annual hike of the Grand Canyon. At the time I was feeling bored with my at-home routine and missing the accountability of having a friend to work out with so I took a leap. I have been working around a life-long mobility issue and have tried other fitness programs, chronically disappointed by the lack of focus to form. The small group coaching session way of operating has been amazing for me, and specifically Paul and his team's expertise, attention to detail and continued flexibility. They listen to what I need and when I say hey man, I'm getting bored - they adjust. They help me push myself in a way that accommodates my injuries and help set me up to succeed rather than chronically injure myself and lose motivation. I mostly train with Nate these days and love him, he listens if I'm having a bad day and will change programming around on the fly based on it. Having mobility issues shouldn't hinder anyone from being fit and I'm so grateful to have found a place that has been able to support my goals. The crew is a nice blend of people new to fitness and people further along in their journey - I say that as I was a bit hesitant based on the ads that it would be too "newbie" oriented and boring for me. The programming works in a way that can accommodate wherever you're at and Paul encourages being vocal and giving feedback which I've genuinely appreciated so much. I like that the classes are small (3-4 people) and that the trainers devote equal time to each of us. They monitor our performance closely and are quick to take it down a notch when they see us struggling but are not afraid to push us when they think we can do more.
The new Lapine Studio is spectacular. Well equipped, well staffed (Nate is lovely) and a treat overall. The perfect way to get back to fit. Workouts are tailored to push you just the right amount and I made real progress. Thank you Paul and crew!

The correctives he gives me on things like posture or positioning when I'm doing each exercise are spot on, he is super-knowledgeable, and it's clear he is excited about doing this work and helping people feel better. Paul did an intake conversation with me where we identified what I want to focus on most, and he created an individual plan for me that targeted those goals. (You can see the other folks in your session are working on different exercises.) He has regularly referred back to those goals, and it's nice to feel that level of personalization. I definitely felt very "heard." This is "small group training," not one-on-one, so If you need your trainer's attention 100% of the workout, this is not for you. But I am really enjoying the small group training (2-3 other clients share the session) because of the added comradery; it's nice to meet some neighbors sharing common challenges and goals. Since it's catering to a Park Slope/Brownstone Brooklyn clientele, it feels especially geared toward middle-age parents like me who have struggled to find time to workout consistently. Have loved my time at Lapine Fitness over the last 5 months. Paul and Jos have been amazing coaches. I have a couple knee dislocations and they curated workouts to help my knee get stronger while also focusing on upper body as well. 100% recommend!
4 months in and I've never felt better about fitness! Exercising no longer feels like a chore and I look forward to it every week. Paul is a gem! Super encouraging and not at all overbearing. Excited to meet my goals and then some!
Paul and his team are the best! Honestly, I signed up thinking I would just do this for a few months to kick start my fitness journey, but the investment is well worth it, and I've stayed on longer than I thought I would because of how wonderful and personal the experience has been. Looove Lapine personal training in Park Slope. After years of trying and hating gyms, this is something I like. I enjoy the small groups of 2-3 people with personalized workout plans for each. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, supportive and they meet you where you are (but are not afraid to challenge you ;) A great community!
I have had a lot of personal trainers and strength training classes but Lapine Fitness is by far the best program for me. In just a few months since joining, I have made tremendous progress in my fitness goals and have gotten much stronger. The owner Paul has done a great job at creating a fun and welcoming environment for folks at all fitness levels.

Lapine Fitness is absolutely the best personal training gym in park slope, Brooklyn. The trainers are attentive, use various proven methods, and develop a tailored programme based on your goals and your body (including any injuries). I made more progress here in 3 months with them than I did in 3 years with other trainers and in physical therapy.

Paul is a true professional. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the body and has been really helpful to set me on a path regain strength after several injuries. He strikes a great balance between working you hard and listening to your body. I couldn’t recommend him highly enough !

The best option I have found in my area (Park Slope) but worth coming out for if you can make it a part of your regular practice. In just a few sessions, he not only made me confident that I could do these movements every day with heavier weight than I initially thought and showed me how to utilize more parts of my body during the exercises, but he identified some weaknesses in various rotations in my body and gave me some simple (but challenging) exercises to improve my trouble areas. This training facility is unique in that it is a truly 1-on-1 personalized approach to fitness. The space is well equipped, clean, and private. I recently had a great boxing workout here! There is also access to a squat rack, dumbbells and kettlebells, and more- all the classics that you need to become strong and healthy! Been training with Paul for a few months and its been wonderful. Paul is a blast to work with and the best trainer I've had. Always motivating and nice. The facility is clean. Workouts are engaging, already seeing great results. 10/10

I have been using LPS a few months now and actually enjoy the workouts he specifically designed for me based on my age, fitness level and rotator cuff injury. Paul is always accessible for questions or to tweak my routine as needed.
Highly Recommend!! Paul is the most knowledgeable personal trainer I’ve ever had. If you want to make sure that you have proper form and technique, this is the guy for you. He gives you the extra push you need to really give it your all and will make sure that you get a good workout in a safe way. Love how he adapts the training to best fit your goals!! I’ve been training with Paul for a few weeks now and have had a great experience. Paul’s a total professional – always positive and encouraging while never failing to challenge and push you to go further with your workouts. Paul was professional and made me feel comfortable. The gym was clean and he wiped down the equipment after I was finished with it. He was patient, demonstrated and explained the purpose of the exercises before he had me do them! I am definitely going back again and will recommend him to my friends and family!!!

Lifesaver during this season. There are cleaning and tracing protocols put in place to protect clients and trainers. Paul is amazing. He has put in place a program to meet me where I was and I see progress weekly and can say I am finally pursuing my goal of being a healthier me.

Had a really good training session with Paul! It was my first time going to a workout in awhile due to COVID so I was a bit nervous if I could keep up but Paul was super patient and helpful with tailoring the workout to be just right. He's a wonderfully nice, professional person and I would highly recommend his services!
Attended a great outdoor workout class led by Paul Lapine. He was super nice and friendly from the get go. The class itself was a mix of exercises, so never got boring, plus went by super fast. It was also easy to tailor to the different skill levels. I was definitely sore the next day, a sign of a great workout :) Highly recommend to anyone !
