On this visit we saw Dr. Pathan instead of Dr. Leon who was vacationing in Greece. To start with I was totally unimpressed with the RN who took our vital signs. Dr. Pathan did not do much of an exam having both my wife and I breathe deeply while he listened two places on our back and listened to two places on our chest. He did ask about any edema in my legs but never actually checked for edema, which is a symptom of the disease that I am seeing a cardiologist for. To me this visit was a total waste of time since he did not seem to be knowledgeable of why either my wife or I were seeing him. I was not happy seeing someone other than Dr. Leon who is knowledgeable of my wife and my illnesses and was very surprised to see Dr. Pathan since our appointments were rescheduled because of Dr. Leon's vacation. Wasn't real comfortable with the Dr. that was filling in for Dr Leon. He didn't seem to care about me as a patient and wanted to change my meds that Dr Leon had been prescribing to me for years.

If the Dr is going to order labs every two weeks then follow through with reading the labs not just ordering the labs because the labs need to be looked at and reviewed not just ordered because the lab levels are important in order to save a patient's life. When you tell a patient that you are going to refer them to a heart transplant team for years and never do I suggest you actually do and don't get their hopes up and when you put them on a heart catheter and tell them that's what they have to be on it for the rest of their life and give them absolutely no hope. That's just not the right way to practice. Less

Overall not happy with my experience at the clinic. The nurse and ultrasound technician were great and addressed all of my concerns. Dr. Oghafua (Dr. Leon's coworker) was okay in going over basic test results though I felt rushed during my appointment. As a medical professional in training I know how busy clinical work can be, but still I didn't feel much freedom to have conversation based on my concerns. My biggest concern was with the front office who twice called stating I missed my appointment and requested missed appointment fees when I had set different appointment times than they scheduled me for. I was also given the expectation by the front desk that charges for the testing I received would amount to one fourth of the actual cost. I paid for testing in the clinic and received a hefty bill two weeks later. This is not acceptable to me by any standard. Less
