Came here while traveling and the gym was very welcoming, they changed up the program to allow me to do things around an injury I had at the time.I have recently come back to visit the area and spent the last few weeks training here more often and I have to praise the coaches and the members for creating such a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The workouts are challenging but fun too. Hopefully I'll be able to come back again soon and I'll be straight back to train here without a doubt.If you're thinking about trying CrossFit or a new gym going to CrossFit Dungeon would be a great place to start! Returning to training post-partum has been such an easy and stress free experience at the CrossFit Dungeon. Sharon and Lenore are experienced mums who understand the importance of having “you time” to attend the gym. They care for your child during the free child minding classes so you can work out and also enjoy the social aspect of attending the gym. The gym itself caters for all levels of fitness and the coaches are the best in cairns. I can’t thank this community enough! I started at CrossFit Dungeon after my last gym had shut down. I felt really lost and I tried EVERY gym in Cairns just to find a similar community to where I was training. I did a free trial at the dungeon and everyone there was so welcoming and supportive.I now regularly train in the afternoons and am apart of the barbell club.The coaches are so unbelievably supportive, take the time to learn your limits and have a wealth of knowledge. I have improved my technique a lot since starting here and always come out of a class feeling really good. There is a big prioritisation on mobility and technique which I found a lot of gyms lacked and I really need as a young person.The community is so supportive and there are always class times to suit when I want to train. If anyone is looking at starting CrossFit/Olympic weightlifting I highly recommend CrossFit dungeon. You won’t ever find another community as inclusive or supportive as the dungeon! Less

I moved from Melbourne and was looking for a home gym where I can continue to improve my overall strength and conditioning but with a big focus on community. This is it! Lynnie made me feel welcome from the first call, first trial session and every coach I had in class was the same. The members are like family, it’s a positive community vibe. Modifications are made of my old injuries and limitations. I attended a couple of drop-in sessions in late Oct/early Nov at CF Dungeon and had the best time. As I've been travelling up the East Coast over the past couple of months, I've visited a few CF boxes, but nowhere has made me feel more welcome than here in Cairns. Jim, the trainer, introduced me to regulars, as well as showed me around the box before the session started. The sessions themselves were great and I felt comfortable asking the trainer how to scale some of the exercises (which I don't always at other boxes!).Also big thanks to Lynnie for talking me through options for a weekly pass during my stay, as well as recommendations for what to do in Cairns.I definitely recommend the box if visiting Cairns - I'll be straight back if I find myself in Far North Queensland in future. Was nervous walking in the door but straight away the coaches made me feel very comfortable and like I belonged. Great options for all levels of fitness and all ages. If you’ve got some pre-exisiting injuries the coaches are more than happy to customise the workouts to aid in a healthy recovery whilst still building strength and fitness all around. Lots of options for different times during the day and so many nice/ happy people attend the classes. Great way to make friends when new to town and increase your strength and fitness at the same time. Love it! Less

It's not just a gym, it's a community. Having always struggled with my weight and felt uncomfortable at the gym, I was very apprehensive to try CrossFit. From the minute I started everyone was so welcoming and I have never felt anything but comfortable and supported. Owners Shaz and Malcolm have created an incredible facility and along with the staff, they always go above and beyond to help me on my journey. If I could give them a million stars I would. The programming for both their CrossFit and barbell club is the best I've experienced. They keep it interesting while ensuring the heavy lifters are just as satisfied as the cardio lovers. The coaches are all incredibly experienced with each offering something different, yet all following the same principles of safety and good form over hitting big numbers. To top it all off, the community is second to none. I have met many of the kindest, welcoming and supportive people since joining 3 years ago. Being surrounded by such amazing coaches and members makes even the toughest days easier to head to gym. Came here for 2 drop in sessions. Coaches were friendly, inviting and very helpful! They pay particular attention to technique over reps and that is somewhat rare for some gyms. Excellent experience and when I go back up there I’ll drop in again for sure! Less
