Had a lunch while in the area for few days. Lovely hotel staff polite and friendly. Very good food although the chips with his lordships gorgeous steak were frozen but overall ok. My lentil soup and chicken kebab were delicious, very generous portions. Guinness... sadly poor pint

I’ve stayed at The Buccleuch and Queensbury Arms Hotel 3 times and have found the service, ambience and food to be excellent. Ralph the manager runs a proactive, helpful and attentive team who deliver an excellent service. I would highly recommend it as a place to stay and eat in Dumfriesshire

We stayed for two nights at the hotel to visit family and see the local sights. We booked a classic double room and had the blackmoor room on the top floor.Wonderful stay with a great room with all the features you would expect and a nice bathroom with a double shower. We were told the room gets hot so they had a large tower fan in the room which helped. Good breakfast in the morning with both continental offering and generous cooked breakfast.However the stand out was the staff at the hotel with the standout being Susan who was doing the breakfast service and Ralph the manager.We would definitely stay here again!
