Concerning the after school and summer program. The teachers are terrible and yell at kids and belittle them and do not know or use "karate" principles to teach or encourage. They make it seem like your child will be in a karate evironment but it really is just a very, very bad day care that has a karate lesson 3 days a week for 45 min. from the teacher of the karate school which is NOT the same as the after school program. The karate teacher/sensei, Ken, is teaching other classes separate from the day care/after school program when he is there and the people left responsible for the children are just terrible and say things to the children you would not want an enemy to day let alone a person of authority or responsibility. The kids are yelling, fighting, stealing and hitting and not being helped or guided correctly. They should not be called a "school" and in fact got in trouble this past school year for it. They tried to bring in an actually teacher, Stephanie, but she only lasted a few weeks because she could not straighten it out and was overwhelmed by how bad it was. They also say your child will get a healthy snack, such as fruit, but what they actually give them is the bottom of the barrel $1 store high sugar chemical crap and expect them to behave well. NO KARATE in this. Very ghetto, unsafe place. -Uncle of student

Abel aka AB Dvinci is an incredible instructor. He seems to have mastered the art of finding the perfect balance of push & pull even in his youth of an instructor. Here is what I mean by that, on one hand, he pushes at what seems like the perfect rate. Challenging and encouraging the student (me) to just the perfect amount of persistence with a goal in mind so that I may grow. Pull in the aspect of he never leaves a student down or as they were when they came into class. On many occasions, I would bring some of my family or a friend and Abel would never let the novice nature of a first timer let them take it easy and/or quit if something seemed to difficult. They always left not thinking about what they couldn't do, but what they accomplished. That is because of Abel's style of teaching he would get them there. Abel instructs with a wealth of wisdom & moral authority that is rare in someone his age. Any person young, old, fit or self-described out-of-shape would benefit greatly with the expertise of his personal & powerful instruction.

I live in Corpus Christi where I trained with Abel βABβ, and he was the best instructor Iβve ever had, very knowledgeable about martial arts and always respectful and down to earth young man. He made my son and I feel very welcome and we learned alot of valuable skills from his teachings.ππΊπΈππΌπ₯

Our 11 year old son loves Pflugerville Martial Arts Academy. Both owners, Brenda and Ken, are amazing with the kids. Lots of fun activities along with karate. Highly recommend the after school and summer programs.
