The atmosphere is welcoming, and a lot of that comes down to Deven, the owner and main instructor. His vision and values are clearly reflected in every class, making the experience both enjoyable and meaningful for the kids.I really appreciate how each day of the week focuses on different techniques, which keeps the classes educational yet engaging. On top of that, the academy offers flexible packages to fit your family’s needs. We chose the weekly option, which lets us attend unlimited classes, and it’s been perfect for our schedule.For my son, it’s not just a great workout that burns energy at the end of the day—it’s also building his confidence, respect, and discipline, all while having fun. Deven and his team were incredibly welcoming to our whole family, and they went out of their way to connect with my kids. Both my daughter and I have been training in the sport for some time, and stepping onto new mats—especially for children—can be nerve-racking. But here, my kids instantly felt comfortable and had a great time.I was also invited to try an adult class, and it was a fantastic experience—an amazing group of skilled, friendly people who know how to make training both productive and fun. Both the kids’ and adult classes were well-structured, with clear, high-quality instruction.The facility itself is spotless, well-maintained, and clearly cared for. We’ll definitely be back!

Nothing but good things to say. Deven and his team have gone above and beyond to teach and support my son, and now me, for almost 3 years. He has gone from a shy kid to an outgoing 15 year old who is ready to take on the world. I would 100% recommend Ground Control Academy to anyone looking to train in Jiu jitsu. We’ve only been there for a few weeks after switching away from another gym, and the difference is night and day. The instructors are friendly and welcoming, and Deven is truly a gem. I’ve shed happy tears watching some of the moments my son has had there already. We had a bad experience elsewhere, and a friend mentioned I should try Ground Control. I only wish we switched sooner! My son is excited to go to Jiu jitsu again :)

This program is top notch!!! I have had both of my young daughters (5 & 6) in the Jiu-Jitsu program for a couple of months now and I am genuinely very impressed. Coaches Deven and Annika are amazing coaches with the right mix of patience, encouragement and discipline. This program is excellent to help your kiddos develop in so many ways - physically, mentally & discipline-wise. Would recommend this program to everyone!

We have had a fantastic experience at ground control. Deven and the other coaches are absolutely fantastic with the kids. I have noticed such positive impact not only on my son’s physical health but his mental and emotional well being as well. He is more excited to challenge himself when normally he would give up if he wasn’t instantly good at something. His emotional regulation has improved dramatically as well and he is now more able to handle emotional challenges and big feelings. I highly recommend ground control academy

Have been training here for a few months and now have 4 kids in the program as well. Deven is an exceptional instructor and runs great classes for both children and adults. Highly recommend dropping in and trying a class. You won’t be disappointed!
