The food looked and smelled so delicious that I forgot to take any photos! The photos are from a very quick video I took and I'm very happy to say that it tastes even better than it looks. The place is great and the staff were very accommodating, the restaurant didn't have QR codes to order from but rather individual tablets for the tables. We had the curry katsu don, the salmon nigiri, and the tofu udon. The service was nice. They had a digital ipad for each table (talk about opulence). the portion size were smaller so the curry katsu don did not fill me up. The curry itself was okayish. The noodle soup was again okayish. Great Japanese restaurant in Clayton, Melbourne - would highly recommend the katsu tamago don, which had a generous serving of chicken katsu, side of eggs, rice and salad. The chicken was impeccable and very tasty. The sukiyaki beef don was also great - although I felt that the beef wasn’t as refined as I expected. We also got the sansanni roll to share - amazing taste with the prawn and grilled salmon. The interior is very clean and the seating area is quite aesthetic. Such a lovely cozy place with delicious Japanese food. We had a large party and most of the food came out at relatively the same time. The restaurant was warm and cozy which was lovely on a cold night. I would recommend the chicken karaage don and curry katsu don. Amazing experience with tasty food, good portions and a very reasonable price point. Don't be scared by the taco price! Most mains are actually around $20. For 3 adults for dinner on a Friday night, each with a main and a drink, as well as renkon chips and a salmon maki roll to share -total was $104 and we were stuffed. iPad ordering is easy. The foods were super quick to serve and were delicious. We could get the table to sit at right away, and water and glasses were provided immediately. The restaurant had a clean, relaxing environment. I feel like the only room for improvement would be the menu. The ingredient list should be provided in the menu for people with allergies such as nuts and beans allergies. The food doesn't have to be that expensive, and considering the ingredients (with exception to the sashimi) it should have been 20-30% cheaper per dish. Especially the edamame and karaage. Even though the food was very good, for the price, it wasn't exceptional. I would go back, bet be weary of ordering the single dishes. The sets are better value for money. Putty. Very clean restaurant. Fresh sashimi salmon. I had the deluxe meal. At $35, I had 2 types of pickles, fried salmon, salmon sashimi, miso soup, tempura prawns and tempura enoki, tempura mix veggies, Japanese omelette and hot steam rice. Four of us live locally and were very keen to try this Izakaya restaurant. Quality and variety of the food was very good, the service was excellent. However, the portions were very small for the price - we paid $36 per head for food (plus $8.70 each for drinks) and we all left hungry. We used the ipad to order but couldn't use it to pay and we couldn't split the bill (even in half!) which was very inconvenient. 3 of us had a beer - price ok at $8.70 for a stubby of Saporo or Asahi. We would have liked to order a bottle of wine but at $58 for a bottle of bog standard Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc (other comparable restaurants sell this at $32 - at the MOST) we decided to go home with our own bottle (which we purchased at the bottle shop for $12) and have some cheese and crackers to end the night. Suggestions: - extend the ipad ordering system so we can pay online (that way we can manage our own bill splitting) - have a couple of set menu banquets to suit different budgets - have a cheaper house wine, or allow BYO / corkage. Pretty good Japanese food, for Clayton, and reasonably priced. We were served by the Chinese Uncle Roger, and we didn't see any other staff. This is not, as the name implies, an Izakaya - the venue style, menu options and lack of very cheap draft beer, or a range of sakė / shōchū is the first clue, no complimentary otōshi is another. I won't delve further into it, but it's merely a restaurant, nothing like an Izakaya. The modern clean atmosphere is refreshing with comfortable booth seating, but the Jpop blasting was not at all enjoyable, felt like we're in a boba-tea shop or video arcade - could definitely fix that with some classy music. Food came out mains before entrees, mains ordered 3 minutes apart (this is the system) came 15 minutes apart….Staff decided they were going to clean all around us while we were eating. Quick walk from Clayton station, which is great for Monash students. The interior is cute. I got the beef teishoku set which was presented great and tasted nice. It came with sashimi, fried tofu, soy sauce and instant miso soup. You place your order via an iPad and pay by the counter. The Katsu Curry was alright too. Less

Very clean, modern and welcoming restaurant. You order food on this tablet, keep in mind once you press "send to kitchen", it goes through immediately. Food was delicious, I got the chicken Katsu sashimi set, mixed aburi plate, salmon & scallop sushi and it did not disappoint. My friend been here a few times and she recommended this place to me.
