The udon and the soup is great. Finally a decent Japanese meal. Would be a great option if you don’t wanna travel to the CBD.

So glad we stumbled across this hidden gem! The staff were so friendly and the food was sensational and reasonably priced. We got 3 mains dishes and 3 drinks for $65 AUD. Ordering via the tablet was so simple, we just added items to our order as we pleased then paid for everything at the end. Plus, the adorable booth seating made for the perfect date night. Will definitely be back!

One of the best Japanese restaurants we have tried in Melbourne. Their salmon nigiri is beautiful. The signature sansanni roll is sensational too. Definitely a much better money worth than other sushi trains. Will come back again.

Had the Katsu Tamago Don with a Miso Soup, and both were absolutely delicious. The chicken katsu was perfectly crispy on the outside while staying tender and juicy inside. The fluffy egg and savory sauce paired beautifully with the rice, making it a comforting and satisfying meal. The miso soup was warm, flavorful, and a great complement to the don.The restaurant has a clean, modern atmosphere, and the service was friendly and efficient. If you’re looking for authentic Japanese comfort food in Clayton, Sansanni Izakaya is definitely worth a visit. I’ll be back to try more dishes!

First time at Sansaani. We had a fabulous meal, all food was delicious and nicely presented , staff friendly and decor clean and pleasant. Miso was really tasty, also enjoyed gyoza, takoyaki, sushi platter and finished with banana fritter and ice cream, (a first for me at Japanese)Only issue was the spoon provided for dessert was made from cardboard! Most unpleasant in the mouth, and no idea why a meal with nice crockery ended with a cardboard spoon 🤔Will definitely return, very good experience, but what’s with the cardboard spoon!

🌺 walked around the Clayton strip and decided to dine here for a late lunch/dinner after getting discharged from the hospital :pmiso soup - looked average like regular miso soup (i didn’t try it but my company had it) ⭐️⭐️⭐️chicken katsu curry don - the curry had good flavour, the chicken was nice and crispy, rice cooked perfect, portion is large and i requested extra red pickles and they delivered 🥹 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️matcha shake - more like a frappe but was still sweet and tasty!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️okonomiyaki - didn’t expect it to be on a stick but i personally didn’t like it because it had way too much sauce so i couldn’t really taste the actual pancake + plus the sauce was sickly sweet :( ⭐️⭐️*note for people that struggle physically with eating from medical conditions; everything was fine for me to consume like the chicken wasn’t too big for my mouth and they provide straws

I ordered the beef bento set and my friend ordered the salmon bento. Both were really good. My friend is a small eater but she finished most of her food. The portion size is just right.

The sushi rolls were really good. The staff was professional and prompt. No wait time at all. The venue is cute and clean. We had a great experience 😃
