I recently visited your restaurant and the staff was a lack of attentiveness when addressing customer needs 🙂↔️

Such a lovely cozy place with delicious Japanese food. We had a large party and most of the food came out at relatively the same time. The restaurant was warm and cozy which was lovely on a cold night. I would recommend the chicken karaage don and curry katsu don. Looking forward to coming back and trying out some of their other dishes.
First time eating here so I ordered what I usually do to try out a new Japanese place, Katsu Curry Don & Takoyaki. Very pleased with the food, generous portion size and excellent quality. Great service as well. I'll definitely be eating here again.
Amazing experience with tasty food, good portions and a very reasonable price point. Don't be scared by the taco price! Most mains are actually around $20. The food is delicious, reasonably priced, and comes in generous portions. Highly recommended!

The flavour of the dish and the vegetables were good and saved the entire meal from being a complete disaster. I was also disconcerted by the lack of cleanliness of this business ,which was not apparent at first but then as you linger, you notice that the kickboard on the door to the kitchen looks like it has never been cleaned and the dustpan that I spied near the kitchen looked filthy. These details make me question the general hygiene practices here. I will not be dining here again. Less

This place was excellent- really great variation of sushi and the sukiyaki beef was tasty. Would recommend and will be back again!
Great place to eat! Reasonably priced, fantastic atmosphere, always lovely people & service! Fantastic food, always take the time to dine in & tip when we can.
I called to ask if their tofu dishes could be made vegan friendly and I was hung up on after spending three minutes on the phone with them. Don't think they understand dietaries...
I would say 3.5 stars The staff were helpful and the food was very good. Just the price. Nice food it’s really clean compared to other places in Clayton you should give it a try
Clean, modern environment Order thru tablet Highlights were cocktails, wagyu sushu + grilled skewers
Very clean restaurant. Fresh sashimi salmon. I had the deluxe meal. At $35, I had 2 types of pickles, fried salmon, salmon sashimi, miso soup, tempura prawns and tempura enoki, tempura mix veggies, Japanese omelette and hot steam rice. It was a delicious simple Japanese dinner. Not top end but very fresh. The sesame ice cream was truly flavoursome and deliciously creamy. Highly recommended.
Very poor quality food. Udon katsu was way too watery and sushi was average.
Delicious food and good service.

We used the ipad to order but couldn't use it to pay and we couldn't split the bill (even in half!) which was very inconvenient. 3 of us had a beer - price ok at $8.70 for a stubby of Saporo or Asahi. We would have liked to order a bottle of wine but at $58 for a bottle of bog standard Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc (other comparable restaurants sell this at $32 - at the MOST) we decided to go home with our own bottle (which we purchased at the bottle shop for $12) and have some cheese and crackers to end the night. Suggestions: - extend the ipad ordering system so we can pay online (that way we can manage our own bill splitting) - have a couple of set menu banquets to suit different budgets - have a cheaper house wine, or allow BYO / corkage. Sushi was nothing special, but the teriyaki chicken don was fantastic!! the serving size is just right and the chicken is flavourful and tender! Would definitely get it again!!
Best Japanese on Clayton Rd
The food at Sansanni Clayton was alright. The service could use improvement; we didn't receive any water, and despite being a party of three, we were only given two napkins. We ordered sushi and had to go get our own soy sauce. Overall, it was an okay experience, but there is definitely room for improvement.
Very likeable Izakaya, nice to have one here - very similar to many in Japan with Tablet menu ordering, authentic Beers and authentic menu. Gyoza was good not great, Karaage slightly better, didn't try any Sushi so can't vouch for that, Beer a little overpriced ($11.50 for a 330ml Suntory Premium Malts bottle) clean and modern interior, service fast, music authentic, will return.
Wagyu Tattaki so nice
Delicious food, great service and a beautiful restaurant. Highly recommend 😊.
Wow just amazing. The food is so good. Sushi and Sashimi is fresh and so well prepared. Only the best. Just 5 stars of wow!
On a cold autumn day, make sure to book in advance and avoid the front shop seating area where you will be constantly reminded of the weather outside and having to manually shut the door. I guess this made me feel that the "everything" was so so. Standard Jap fare with a standard Jap menu at standard Jap (dear) prices and standard Jap decor.
Love every grill staff like in Japan.is really good grab sake with collies or friend. Come here couple times but still not took any photo because the food gone so fast
Impressive
Pretty good Japanese food, for Clayton, and reasonably priced. We were served by the Chinese Uncle Roger, and we didn't see any other staff. This is not, as the name implies, an Izakaya - the venue style, menu options and lack of very cheap draft beer, or a range of sakė / shōchū is the first clue, no complimentary otōshi is another. The modern clean atmosphere is refreshing with comfortable booth seating, but the Jpop blasting was not at all enjoyable, felt like we're in a boba-tea shop or video arcade - could definitely fix that with some classy music. This is a great place for Japanese food in Clayton. The service was amazing as the guy who served us seemed to be the owner was very helpful and attentive. I would certainly come back and recommend Sansanni Izakaya. The staff were very friendly. The food was delicious and they have great variety on the menu, with lots of options for vegetarians. Their agadashi tofu was really well done.
Great place, nice and clean with a good atmosphere. Reasonable price, food is tasty with different choices to choose from.
Great food and vibe. Food was fresh and clean!
First time here. We had quite a few small dishes, Salmon Taco (nice), Udon Katsu Curry (OK), Nasu Dengaku (nice), Udon Tofu Curry (nice). Most disappointing was the Wagyu Tataki, it was not fresh, it had a strange taste. Service was very good. We spent $30 / head. Overall experience was average.
While the food was actually quite good. There was a critical thing that failed for me.... when I ate the veggies that were used to garnish their teishoku plate.... the veggies were crunchy from unwashed soil which is a critical fail in my opinion. This should not be acceptable
Great izakaya place. The purple sweet potato is amazing.
food is good, needs more waitstaff in busy periods, such as public holidays
Family friendly Japanese restaurant
All the food was amazing, presentation was spectacular. The food came out within seconds and the sushi was delicious especially the wagyu nigiri which sizzles in your mouth. Overall 5 stars.
there is fly in the food ,the food here not clean!!!

Very good restaurant. Friendly service.
The food was absolutely amazing! Best Japanese food I've had in ages. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Very accommodating. 5 stars from me. See you again soon! 😊
We always go here. The food is great but they operating hours are not reliable. Even though the hours say all day Saturday we went all the way for a meal at 4.30 on Saturday and they were closed. Our family was very disappointed. Most likely won't return to avoid such disappointment again.
Love the Bento sets here. A popular place.
The food was so good, karaage udon was very tasty. Staff were friendly too. Good service

Very fast, convenient and good food 10/10
What an awesome place to go to! For $75 me and my partner (2 adults) had heaps to eat & all the food was cooked amazingly! The Chicken Katsu was incredible! Cool atmosphere with awesome food and staff. 10/10
Great place for Japanese food. The bento was nice and varied, and absolutely delicious. Expect to spend ~$25 here.
Salmon are not fresh and the beef and chicken so hard . It is really unreasonable for the price . So sad and disappointing, will not come again 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
I LOVE the food here !! My fav drink is definitely the matcha smoothie :) The food is always so yummy especially the sashimi. Which you order the food through a tablet. Atmosphere is very nice, service is also good when seating at table and serving food :)
First time going here and it was so lovely! We got the sushi and sashimi, Katsu chicken teishoku sets and they were so fresh and yummy. It was easy to order and the staff were excellent, as well quick and efficient! Would 100% go back!
My experience was superb. try making the teishoku sashimi into aburi, they will do it for you. Must try for late night dinner dates.
Well well well… Where do I start guys… Let’s just keep it simple, it’s not good at all and I’ve gotta be honest to save my people who are spending their hard earn’t money to dine somewhere nice with their families. I don’t recommend this place, it’s just awful, go to Okami and green village, and save some money. Only ate it cause we felt bad for the chef. Thanks guys for reading my review!

Tried some yummy Japanese dishes. Tried eel and my kid had a kids meal which came in a kid friendly plate. Had a nice overall experience.
Great variety of dishes, the sushi/nigiri were a highlight.
Quick walk from Clayton station, which is great for Monash students. The interior is cute. I got the beef teishoku set which was presented great and tasted nice. It came with sashimi, fried tofu, soy sauce and instant miso soup. You place your order via an iPad and pay by the counter. The Katsu Curry was alright too.
Interior was beautiful and the teishoku set was delicious.
Super fresh food, friendly service. The prawn sushi was one of the best I’ve had. The staff are lovely.
美味しくなかった。。全部、冷凍食品の味がします。。もう来ません。
Highly recommend this Japanese restaurant the food and presentation is amazing .
Everything we had was good. Yakitori was delicious and I wish they served more chicken varieties. Karage was disappointing and edamame was a little overdone. Prices are high for things. Glad to have a new option in the area for Japanese food.
Tempura, wagu beef tataki, agedashi tofu are very good and fresh
Quite expensive for the quality, a bit disappointed about the taste
i cant even try to start pronoucing this name
Awesome Japanese food at very good prices😁
Great quality and affordable Japanese cuisine! Teishoku sets were delicious and the sashimi was fresh and tasty. Would definitely visit again.

This Japanese restaurant seamlessly blends tradition and technology, providing exceptional customer service and an unforgettable dining experience. The warm and attentive staff, along with efficient ordering systems, enhance every aspect of the visit. From the exquisite flavors to the elegant ambiance, it's a must-visit for Japanese cuisine enthusiasts.
Not sure what happened with the service but they completely forgot to bring out one of the main meals… asked where it was and it took another 20 minutes to come. Pretty disappointing but there are plenty of other restaurants in Clayton so I’ll cross this one off my list 🙃
Clean and neat venue with friendly staff. Food is authentic but portion is not generous.
Calming atmosphere, good food and services.
The food and sake was very nice. We mainly had nigiri and it was all fresh and tasty. A great place for a casual night out.
I'm a frequent customer of Sansanni ever since its opening. The food was good at the start but the quality started to drop. The salmon sashimi contained a lot of bones and it wasn't fresh because the colour was very off and unappealing. The skewers were also extremely dry that no amount of drinking water could save me.
A very good place. Quick serving of order (tablet), polite staff and good atmosphere. We were surprised and want to return again.
Really recommend this place. Very tasty and quickly ate.
Excellent - every dish ordered was so delicious! LOVED the salmon taco! Would highly recommend 👍
The teriyaki Udon was good
Well made food. Both in terms of taste and presentation. Probably the highest quality meals in the area for a reasonable price per dish.
Dinner was nice, the reason for 4 stars is they have AMEX stickers on their door but when I tried to pay it didn’t take it?
Amazing food, great service excellent experience. Will definitely be back for more.
Food was eatable but. Kid's udon soup was very salty while the miso soup on the bento was rather plain, Gave feedback to the staff but he didnt seem to like it very much. The katsu in katsu don did not taste very well either, the meat was separated from the skin, and lack of chewy texture on the meat. Curry needs to be better seasoned.

When I asked the counter who made the chicken katsu The answer was that they bought it outside If, according to the owner's reply Dear owners, do you know how thin your katsu is? Of course Panko can be bought from the supplier, but this meal just makes me think you are over costing down! I've had many grilled fish but this is the only restaurant that grills the fish until it turns into bark and then tells me to pair it with sake which is also a bad answer! Especially the skin of the mackerel, the aroma of the oil is the essence of the fish And your chef has completely killed the fish by grilling it like this! I used to think the lowest rating I could give a restaurant was that the water was good. But this restaurant has changed my perception He didn't even serve water At dinner time, I regretted reading the 5-star review above I wasted my money and time on a restaurant that I will never return to again. Very clean and modern restaurant, airconditioned on a hot day. You order food on this tablet, keep in mind once you press "send to kitchen", it goes through immediately. Food was delicious, I got the Katsu set and it did not disappoint (see picture, forgive my half eaten dish). I'm making this my go-to for Japanese food from now on.
A friend and I have been waiting for this place to open so we could try it. The staff were so polite, it was fastidiously clean, and the large serves (I had the karaage Don, my friend the eel don) were delicious. We also squeezed in some very nice edamame. Would highly recommend!
