Our cavoodle Mikey has severe anxiety with strangers which means we rarely have people round to our apartment due to his barking and general response. Our beautiful velcro Vizsla is generally very well behaved until other dogs are in the mix. Then, while on a lead, she’s highly reactive and anxious. Ian demonstrated how to better manage her environment to keep her calm and build up more positive experiences to lower her reactivity. After big improvements, at our next session, we discussed how heightened she is in off lead areas, engaging with every dog, often stealing their ball to be chased, and too often ignoring us when called. After walking through such an area with Ian, he talked through what was happening as she visibly displayed signs of over stimulation. He then took us to a wooded area and showed us how to exercise her off lead in a mode that suited her working dog qualities. She came alive! Immediately engaged, attentive and hungry for instruction. It was so clear that this was what she was bred to do and she’d just been waiting for us to give her the right environment and instructions. It was amazing to witness. We’ve since repeated what we learnt and she was straight back into attentive pointer retriever mode. Afterwards as we strolled across the park, we had a happy, stimulated dog, happy to ignore other dogs and just walk with us. We can’t thank Ian enough for making both our dog and her owners so happy! My partner and I recently adopted a 11 weeks old Kelpie x Huntaway cross. I've never had a dog before so I wanted some tips and trick to train him properly for him to become well behave and so he can settle in his new family. I was on a hunt for puppy classes for a couple or weeks before decided to go on with Bondi Behaviourist. I had two very anxious Blue Heelers. I tried puppy pre-school, adult training via other trainers including Bark Busters but to no avail. Bonnie and Clyde could very well have stayed 'on the wrong side of the tracks' if it weren't for Ian who through, disapline, professionalism and sheer enjoyment for what he does developed them into happy, confident dogs that they deserve to be.
