And we like the work they did. We had two dead walnut trees completely engulfed in black berry vines, and many dead and overgrown juniper's in need of removal. Her crew came in and made short work of everything. They not only took everything out down to the dirt but they ground up all the berries and juniper then took all the trash away. We Received a notice dated 4/11/24 from Cal Fire stating that our grove of eucalyptus trees in the back of our property was very overgrown and would need to be cleaned up and a few rows taken out to give our neighbors better defensible space in case of fire. Since we are now in our mid 60's and have had a few medical issues, we knew we would not be able to do the work ourselves. I contacted Grind Fire Defense and spoke with Lori on 4/19/24. She came out to give me an estimate for the job that same day. Her crew came out 4/24/24 at 8:00 am and worked until the job was done. They did a great job, and the price was very reasonable. It was so nice to call someone and get such fast results. They not only cut and chipped the wood, but also hauled it off the property. Lori, John, and crew took on a complex project for us and performed with excellence. Our property was heavily forested with lots of downed wood and many standing dead trees that we needed to have cleared for safety, useability, and fire protection. We also have a beautiful view of Mt Shasta that we wanted to preserve and improve. Heavy work needed to be done but we also did not want the land scarred up. All this meant that there were several competing priorities and decisions that needed to be made along the way. After receiving a very disturbing letter from my Homeowners insurance co. stating I was to be cancelled if tree limbs near the roof were not removed. I contacted Grind upon the recommendation of the insurance co. Lori at Grind led the project and dealt directly with the insurance co as what I called an advocate. Knowing my trees were valued for the shade over the house that they provided i wanted to minimize the amount cut. A time was scheduled, and her team was here on time and well equipped. Ended up efficiently taking one whole large oak down and some big limbs way up in another oak. It was cleaned up very well as the limbs were left here off to the side in a pile and stacked. as requested by me to save some money, as I can burn right here. Th arborist came back a couple days later, climbed a mulberry that needed some crowning and more limbs removed. Photos and receipt submitted by Grind on my behalf to the insurance co. and I believe the cancellation notice will be itself cancelled, and if there is more to do and I hope not because this kind of work well done is not cheap.
