UPDATE: It's been over a week and no one has reached out to me. Can someone please contact me. Thank you.I hired this company to perform the concrete work for a 24' x 22' sunroom addition. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing from start to finish. The project began with communication and coordination issues. Despite receiving direction from Hometown Contractors regarding the dimensions and layout, the slab was formed with the dimensions reversed.Throughout the project, there were multiple promises that were either not completed or only partially completed. The crew stated they would grind down the remaining concrete from a former fireplace foundation, they tried to complete they by using tools belonging to Hometown Contractors without permission, they stopped them and ended up completing their work for them. Before work began, I advised them that the existing concrete was significantly deeper than they believed. They insisted it was approximately 12 inches thick, but it turned out to be much deeper, requiring them to rent additional equipment. As a result, the project cost increased substantially. The original quoted price was approximately $6,500, but by the end of the project I had paid approximately $7,700. It seemed like additional charges were added throughout the job, which was frustrating. The site restoration was also disappointing. I was told dirt would be brought in and graded where the bobcat damaged the yard and that once grass grew back, the area would be difficult to notice. While some dirt was delivered, several damaged areas were left unfinished. When I asked about filling and grading one area, I was told, "We're not landscapers." They also damaged a sprinkler head and replaced it with a smaller, less expensive head that did not match the existing system. I ultimately repaired it myself. Another area near my garage was supposed to be filled but was never completed.Scheduling was another issue. Even Hometown Contractors appeared to have difficulty keeping the concrete contractor on schedule. Fortunately, Hometown Contractors stayed involved and helped move the project forward. The most significant issue surfaced later when I obtained flooring quotes. Multiple flooring contractors informed me that portions of the slab are not level and will require grinding high spots and applying leveling compound before flooring can be installed. I attempted to contact the concrete contractor multiple times by phone and text to discuss possible corrective action, but I have received no response. While the slab ultimately allowed the project to move forward, the combination of poor communication, additional costs, incomplete restoration work, leveling issues, and lack of follow-up after payment leaves me unable to recommend this company.
