I am just a mom trying to instill positive values and lessons into my children. I refuse to put my children in situations when they are uncomfortable and feel unwanted For any reason but especially not for no other reason than the color of their skin. Not only do the students, and their parents but some of the staff members provide this energy as well.I have informed management let me and my brown children and I do not feel comfortable in their establishment. Unfortunately, they said my contract is irreversible and even though we will no longer be in attendance they said they will continue to charge me for the classes that My son is not participating in.This place is very unwelcoming to people of color. Please do NOT take your children here. I hate that I put my child in that environment.

I have been in BJJ for the past 20 years. I have been a member of many outstanding gyms and this is no exception. The culture at this gym under the leadership and direction of the head instructors is world class. There is no shortage of BJJ facilities in Az, but if you want a safe place to train, heavy on the technique side and enter into a welcoming culture then I highly recommend Gracie AZ Gilbert BJJ.
