Hello,I am a Generalist Teacher (meaning I am qualified to teach all core subjects that one would associate with a Primary school curriculum) however, in Term 4 of this year I was tasked to be a Specialist Teacher providing music lessons from Pre-primary to Year six, including overseeing the school choir. Quite a daunting task for someone who has no previous experience in this area. I reached out to West Coast Music School (WCMS), to assist me in up-skilling my knowledge and skills in order to feel confident in providing good quality, engaging lessons.I am now feeling less intimidated of the musical equipment, instruments and terminology one would encounter on a music enrichment journey, and have even successfully completed a Christmas event with the school choir. I am now feeling more confident going forward in my employment as a music teacher.The development of skills has been acquired and developed by the excellent tuition provided by my tutor Sandro (WCMS), who has been a kind, supportive and engaging teacher. Our son has been with West Coast Music since he was 5 years old. At the start, it was to help him with his fine motor skills. We didn’t expect he also gained other skills through music. Music makes him calm, happy and more confident. Through out his music/piano journey, the school and his mentors has been fantastic and tailored his learning to suit him. WCMS provides a safe & supported environment for the kids which nurtures the kids through stages of musical growth. Kiara from WCMS teaches our daughter vocal tuition in a 1on1 environment & she is AMAZING - so full of energy, passion & care that it has really helped improve our daughter’s vocal abilities whilst enjoying music & each lesson.
