Choosing a contractor is not an easy thing to do when it comes to any home renovation. I was so lucky that I had several personal referrals to N&R Finishes, and had seen 2 of his finished basements (that were absolutely beautiful). When we finally were ready to gather quotes, I was so thrilled to reach out to Nick. We had received other quotes to do our due diligence and through that process, it was Nick that we had to go with. We had a more complicated project with having a dug out crawl space done prior that created larger needs for plumping and HVAC. Knowing that Nick knew the codes and did not take shortcuts, he made design decisions that would maximize our space even if that meant a lot of extra work upfront with working with our unique space. His team is also fantastic. They were very accommodating to what we wanted, quick to respond to any changes, and pleasant to work with. Our basement is just under 1,000 square feet and through his design we were able to get a small kitchen, living space, great size bathroom, laundry, storage and 2 bedrooms. I had a hard time finding smaller basements like ours that could fit all of that, but Nick made it happen and our space is beyond what we could have imagined. JJ at Bird Dog Electric, Inc is a highly qualified electrician. He knew far more about wiring our basement safely and professionally than the code inspectors. The drywall workers were efficient and professional building out our basement finish with precision accuracy. We were so impressed with Zach at Valiant Air that we hired him to perform our annual furnace maintenance, after he completed our basement HVAC work. Donny was outstanding with his work on all of our plumbing. Salvador did a great job on all aspects of the framing and other work often overseeing the work of others on the team to make sure everything was according to our design plan and up to code. Harry and Travis are amazing carpenters, who also did an amazing job installing our shower door. One of the most impressive workers was José and the incredible work he did leveling our basement floor.Nick oversees a fantastic crew of basement finish specialists!We really cannot say enough good things about Nick his entire team at N & R Finishes. N&R Finishes was a dream to work with. Their estimate to finish our basement was very similar to the two other companies we interviewed but we got so much more for our money with N&R. Nick was totally open to hearing our ideas and we were able to add some beautiful custom touches. All the finishes are impeccable. The basement is now our favorite part of of house.
