I've been a member of The Movement Collective for almost three years now, and it's genuinely one of the best decisions I've made for my health and wellbeing. What keeps me coming back year after year is the community. TMC has cultivated something really special, it's supportive, encouraging, and completely free of the competitive gym-floor energy you find elsewhere. Everyone is genuinely in it together, and that makes showing up so much easier and more enjoyable. I'm still learning, still improving, and still loving it.In addition to the great class and workshop programs, I've also benefited from seeing Alex from The Movement Improvement Clinic. He rehabbed me back to physical health after I injured my back/neck. Two months of rehab with Alex on a specialised program and I was back in class making gains again. Not only was Alex professional and knowledgeable, I felt safe and nurtured in his presence.Whenever I have had time away from TMC (because of study, work, holidays or injury), I always feel like something vital is missing in my life. I don’t just go to work out, I go because it is my happy place and my self care routine.

It's been 5 months of encouragement, goal setting and milestones! TMC has a unique perspective on excerise. I'm now more flexible and mobile than I've ever been. I've lost weight, gained muscle! Classes are all delivered by knowledgeable staff, who are approachable and friendly.If you're done with regular gyms, definately give TMC a try.

Undoubtedly one of the most unique gyms I've had the pleasure of being a part of. The focus shifting from the weightlifting at most gyms to the focus on movement and mobility at The Movement Collective has been game changing for my fitness and overall health. This is definitely a place I would recommend giving a go.

TMC has to be one of the best gyms I have ever trained at. The people, the coaches, the classes, everything about this gym is absolutely incredible. There’s a great variety of classes and class times throughout the week, making it easy to train no matter your schedule or preferences.The classes are fun, challenging, and thoughtfully structured to help you make real progress in your training. The community at this gym is amazing. Everyone is welcoming, supportive, and always happy to help, share knowledge, or simply connect as friends. The coaches are truly awesome. They genuinely know everyone by name, are personable and approachable, and care about you and your progress.Training here has helped me grow in so many ways, both physically and personally, and I’ve made meaningful friendships that extend well beyond the gym. Been training here for a few months now, and it’s easily one of the best decisions I’ve made and have not looked back! I’m 41 and getting back into training, and Movement Collective Newcastle has been great. It’s not a typical gym — it’s all about moving well, and feeling good in your body. I’ve never done handstands or gymnastics-style training before, but I’m really enjoying it and how it makes me feel. Sessions are supportive and fun, and I always leave feeling better, not smashed. Highly recommend.

The Movement Collective is a great place that can completely transform your understanding of what your body can do, accelerate your physical development, and improve your health. Rod (and the whole team) is a very experienced coach that can adopt all exercises to your level, check you out during classes and push your boundaries in a safe environment. Every class is designed to cover certain skills but you have time to work on personal goals. The community is very supportive and friendly. Drop by for a class to have some fun if you are visiting Newcastle or become a member.

While the body movement based training makes this gym unique, it’s the welcoming community that sets it apart. I’ve never felt more at ease chatting with others, working together during class, or sharing a high five at the end of a class.One of the things I’ve enjoyed most is seeing the small but meaningful progress I’ve made since joining. Noticing improvements in my strength and flexibility like developing my handstands (including earning my first handstand sticker for a 60-second wall handstand!), deepening my pancake, and even achieving my first pull-up has been incredibly motivating.The movement classes are fun, engaging, and thoughtfully programmed, and they’ve helped me improve my strength, flexibility, and overall confidence. The coaches are encouraging and create an inclusive environment for all abilities. More than anything, it’s the people and the genuine sense of community that make this gym such a special place to train.

I’ve been training at The Movement Collective for many years, and it’s been nothing short of life-changing. After sustaining a shoulder injury that seriously impacted my training, I wasn’t sure I’d ever get back to where I was. But after speaking with Jeni and Rod, they recommended a tailored combination of training and rehab exercises that helped rebuild my strength and confidence over time.Thanks to their guidance and support, I was not only able to recover, I achieved things I never thought possible again, like muscle-ups and press to handstands. The Movement Collective is a very unique gym. I started their Over 50s class and was a bit concerned at how I would cope, but having done several classes, am very happy with the results. I can feel the difference in my body and energy levels. The class is great because it's not too intensive and you work on a different part of your body each time you go. Highly recommended.

I recently joined TMC for the over 50s classes. TMC is unlike any other "gym". Their programs incorporate a variety of skills and activities for the body and brain. Challenging without being "smashed", totally supportive, lots of options / levels, lots of fun, not intimidating. Highly recommend!

I rocked up for my first ever over 50s movement class last week and had the best class ever! I was nervous in the lead up (I’m well over 50!) - what if I couldn’t do anything? But there was no need to worry - some things I could do, some I couldn’t. Dan, our lovely coach, kept a close eye and if we struggled, he jumped in with advice on how to make the movement easier, how best to work toward achieving it. The class was full of new challenges and a lot of fun! Everyone was really encouraging and I truly loved every minute of it! I now can’t wait to get back for the next class!

A different approach to fitness.If you’re bored with a typical gym, check this out… More acrobatic and calisthenic oriented movement, that changes on a frequent basis, and really pushes you to move a whole bunch of muscles you might’ve forgotten about. (Especially if you’re a little older! ☺️)Lovely people, both instructors and people doing the class… A really nice community vibe.

I've never heard so much laughing at any gym I've been to before. The workouts have lots of fun variations so you never get bored. There are also lots of fun events programmed throughout the year, which keeps things exciting. TMC- your one-stop fitness/strength/fun shop. Accept no substitutes!
