Belle Marie Boudoir

This will be a lengthy but informative comparison review. I had recently done a photoshoot with Sugar and Spice, but was disappointed with the results. My friend had also just done a photoshoot, but with Belle Marie Boudoir. I was jealous of her pictures and decided on a "do over".1) phone consultBMB: Spoke with team member who explained everything involved and answered all my questions.S&S: Spoke with owner who provided history of company and sought understanding of what I expected.2) schedulingBMB: More limited days of shooting. 2 clients per days. Got appt for 1 month later.S&S: More opening time slots for shooting. 3 clients per day. Got appt for 1 week later.3) prepBMB: Recommended when to shower, shave, timing of hair cut/color prior. Rest and hydration. Healthier food, no fast food.S&S: Encouraged tanning, teeth whitening, waxing, hair glossing, straightened hair. Hydrate and moisturize, good attitude. Gave extensive list of what not to eat for 1 week prior, week of, couple days before, day of.4) costBMB: $500 session. Accommodated package switch out and desired add-ons.S&S: $350 session. Cost more in the end. Didn't know full package cost until ready to place order. Claim no minimum. Not as upfront with pricing and try to up sell.5) makeoverBMB: Looked like myself but better. Examples provided for hair and makeup varieties to help guide me. Worked with my curly hair. Natural to smokey ranges of looks.S&S: Didn't recognize myself. Lots of hair extensions. Full glam makeup look.6) teamBMB: Easygoing. Felt comfortable relaxing in silence. I knew who would be working with me prior to arrival.S&S: Comfortable interactions. Felt like I had to hold conversation the entire time. Surprised when I learned the owner wasn't present and actually lived out of state. Didn't seem like anyone read my pre-shoot questionnaire. Asked a lot to learn about me.7) wardrobeBMB: Had ~15 items in various colors and styles prepicked in my size. Newer style options of nice quality.S&S: Claim to have lots in all sizes, but many things I looked through were too large for me. 2 outfit choices per set. All but 1 outfit had to be clamped in the back to fit. Shoes provided were obviously too big, yet they didn't switch out for a better size.8) setsBMB: More simple/clean. Focused more on client.S&S: More themed. Focused more on background.9) posesBMB: More natural. Accentuated my strengths. (Website includes many women of different size, shape, color.)S&S: More fantasy. Some felt awkward and silly. (Website includes mostly white, skinny women, with big boobs.)10) photo selectionBMB: Chose in studio right after shoot. Side by side comparisons. Assistance during photo reveal with honest feedback.S&S: Waited 1 week for emailed link, access for 30 days. Portfolio can be viewed at home, liked getting my husband's opinion. Ability to select favorites into separate file. Felt overwhelming to go through and chose.11) atmosphereBMB: Smaller studio space, well kept. Music of your choice. Upbeat yet down to earth.S&S: Expansive studio with warehouse feel. Organized space even with lots of stuff. No music.12) pixBMB: Was shown images throughout process to make sure I liked them. Listened to what I did/didn't want to be a focus. Images felt more artistic. End product exceeded expectations. Had a hard time narrowing down to 12 because I liked so many.S&S: Wasn't allowed to see images during process. When I finally got the proofs, hated majority due to unappealing poses and facial expressions. Images felt kinda cheesy and not sexy. Hard time selecting 3 I liked because of many I disliked. A lot of emailing back and forth about changing some things, but they were very willing to fix stuff until I was satisfied.Belle Marie Boudoir ... A+Sugar & Spice ... C-
