I've had an excellent experience at ThinWorks. Their initial visit is a full physical with comprehensive bloodwork, EKG, and urinalysis. After that, you can sign up for weekly sessions either by paying by week or a discount with a 4,8,12, or 16 week package. For the first month you get free supplements, such as the fat burner and appetite suppressant. If they are effective the package deal allows you to purchase with a 10% discount. The staff is very friendly. Cindy, my weight loss coach, will go over your progress and give feedback on dietary and exercise options. The nurse will weigh you in and give a B12 shot to help with weight loss. It is very easy to get an appointment. Typically you can get a weekly appointment at any time of your choosing. I've been able to lose 25 pounds in my first 4 weeks. The diet is restrictive and generally adheres to a 1,000 calorie daily intake until you hit the target weight. The first week doesn't allow for carbohydrates, but they are added in Week 2. To get the best results, carbs are heavily restricted to less than 30 grams per day. While not a keto diet, many of the recipes that apply to keto are applicable. Unlike keto, this diet is low carb and high protein. To help caloric intake, they do provide a daily appetite suppressant. You can either take the natural supplement or if approved by the doctor a prescription for phentermine. The phentermine is effective in curbing appetite. However, since I had a higher BMI and body fat percentage and a history with the drug, I was approved. The doctor may not recommend it if you are just slightly overweight because it is a controlled substance. I would highly recommend ThinWorks. The initial investment was about $550 for two months. I expect to keep re-upping until I reach my goal weight. You can buy their own products (bars, shakers, etc.) but there is no pressure or obligation to. The financial obligation holds me accountable and encourages me to lose the weight every week so I do not feel like I am wasting my money. I believe that if you follow the plan, the weight will come off. I've had more weight to lose so it's easier for me early on. Overall, just stay under the calories and carbs and you should be able to lose at least 2 lbs a week. Less

This place is such a godsend! My husband and I started the program at the same time and we both reached our goals within 3-4 weeks. Yes, it is tough, but the appetite suppressants are a game changer. They help you get over that dreaded hump, and once you hit ketosis, the fat just starts melting away. I called and spoke with Sara, the office manager, and she patiently explained how the program works and was compassionate to me when I was transparent about my eating. I was happy to hear her say “This isn’t a magic program, the success you have depends on you, but we have many, many success stories with women just like you.” I booked my appointment for the next available time. I was greeted warmly and Tahisha took all my vitals and blood. Afterwards, Cindy who would be my main weight loss coach, came in and explained again how the program works and went over my goals and my preassessment I did online. Based on that she recommended a plan that would save me money in the long run and suggested I get additional blood work run to see if my hormones where off balance. My hormones were off balance, so I opted for the hormone rebalancing and noticed a huge difference in my appetite, moods, energy and sleeping within 72 hours. Yes, they prescribe appetite suppressants to help curb my cravings and my appetite, but every week they check my vitals to make sure that they are not harming me. Since I started the program, I have lost 35 pounds, and found that even on the days I forget to take my medication, I am in more control over food. Every week Cindy discusses with me my victories and losses and offers suggestions to continue to be successful. One of the added benefits is I have more mental clarity, I am more focused, and my joints don’t hurt nearly like they used to. Last week I went in and I was up a pound; but Cindy explained to me that I had gained 2 pounds of water and lost ½ pound of fat, so the pound that showed up on the scale was water weight (the scale they use is amazing with what it measures!!!). She explained to me the different possibilities of why I may have gained the water weight and ways of getting back on track; I left encouraged, which goes a long way to not turning to food for comfort! You get reward bucks for every week you lose weight, which can be used for a variety of things, I like to use them for the delicious chocolate mint candies and chocolate protein bars (those bars are a savior for me when I am traveling!) The staff is warm, friendly, and feels like an extended family, and they are just as excited about my success as I am.
