Without even explaining anything they did filling only to bill me more than 1000 dollars. They didn't even wait a second to ask if I'm ok / if I have any questions / anything. My experience was bad - very bad. When I asked them to show the cavities, they just simply said it's all in between the teeth and can't see even in x-rays! This can't be true as I had checked a dentist few days back and they said I don't have any cavities. If I really had cavities why did the first doctor say everything is fine on first visit. I just kind of feel they do unnecessary things to get your insurance money. They run four clinics and reading the reviews of other clinics as well, other patients have posted exact same reviews of how two doctors are inconsistent. May be this is a tactic they use. This place is a SCAM. I don't know how can they sleep peacefully after cheating patients like this and what all people can do for money ?! Had a dental cleaning appointment last Saturday, waiting a half hour after the appointment starting time in order to get the cleaning started, the receptionist claimed that my coverage is 100% with x-ray and dental cleaning. When it was half done another patient interrupted my session with the dental hygienist. Then the appointment has to be put into 2 sessions instead of one. Most of all, the receptionist change the next appointment from December to next week simply because she could not communicate with the hygienist. Guess what the coverage was not 100% as the receptionist said. I had to pay deductibles and go to another appointment just to finish the cleaning job. Please train your staffs and do not make these kind of mistakes. Less

Had such a great experience at EK Dental. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Both the hygienist and the dentist were gentle and paid attention to level of comfort, I'm confident to say there is no longer a fear in me going to the dentist after visiting EK Dental!

DISHONEST This was my dentist prior to relocating from Scarborough I have now moved back to the area and returned to this dentist Staff are friendly, especially the hygienists. Appointment times are NOT always respected. Exterior of building can use some love (or windex), but interior of the office space is well-maintained UPDATE FROM 4 star to 1 star due to dishonesty. The only thing I value with dentists is their integrity and unfortunately he has none. You are entering your patients mouths, and you are to assess actual cavities and other issues and you are to report the truth!!! Dr. Shiva unfortunately did not do that. He told me I had FIVE cavities (unrealistic for a person who visits the dentist regularly and brushes and flosses regularly). He said all five cavities were in between my teeth (perfect right? I can’t see those). He fixed one cavity and created a HUGE problem in my bite. Since the summertime I’ve been dealing with food getting wedges between the area that he “fixed”. I now have to make sure there is floss in all of my coat pockets, all of my purses, and in my car. If I dare have a bite to eat without packing my floss, I am left uncomfortable and ANGRY with Dr. Shiva. I stopped going there. I went to another dental office and got the opinion of two different dentists. Initially I told them I had 4 more cavities to fill. Both of them examined my mouth (on separate occasions) and told me I had ZERO cavities!!! Like I damn well knew initially!!! I don’t have not one cavity!!! The first dentist felt horrible that I was lied to and charged me only $50 for the exam. The second dentist also felt horrible and charged me nothing for the exam. He noticed the trauma and paranoia that my experience with Dr. Shiva has caused me. I’m so mad that I trusted EK Dental/Dr. SHIVA. I could tell he was lying to me based on his demeanor and I’m so upset that I didn’t trust my gut! Now I have to deal with this huge gap in my teeth that he created. If Dr.Shiva was your dentist and told you you had cavities…please get a second opinion. He cannot be trusted!! Less
