My second visit to this clinic was with Zainab, one of the hygienists. Zainab worked hard to clean and polish my teeth. Throughout the appointment, she was friendly, kind and gentle. Without even explaining anything they did filling only to bill me more than 1000 dollars. Both the dentist and hygienist just simply walked out of the room after the procedure is over saying that's all done. They didn't even wait a second to ask if I'm ok / if I have any questions / anything. My experience was bad - very bad. When I asked them to show the cavities, they just simply said it's all in between the teeth and can't see even in x-rays! This can't be true as I had checked a dentist few days back and they said I don't have any cavities. If I really had cavities why did the first doctor say everything is fine on first visit. I just kind of feel they do unnecessary things to get your insurance money. They run four clinics and reading the reviews of other clinics as well, other patients have posted exact same reviews of how two doctors are inconsistent. May be this is a tactic they use. This place is a SCAM. I don't know how can they sleep peacefully after cheating patients like this and what all people can do for money ?! DISHONEST This was my dentist prior to relocating from Scarborough I have now moved back to the area and returned to this dentist Staff are friendly, especially the hygienists. Appointment times are NOT always respected. Exterior of building can use some love (or windex), but interior of the office space is well-maintained UPDATE FROM 4 star to 1 star due to dishonesty. The only thing I value with dentists is their integrity and unfortunately he has none. You are entering your patients mouths, and you are to assess actual cavities and other issues and you are to report the truth!!! Dr. Shiva unfortunately did not do that. He told me I had FIVE cavities (unrealistic for a person who visits the dentist regularly and brushes and flosses regularly). He said all five cavities were in between my teeth (perfect right? I can’t see those). He fixed one cavity and created a HUGE problem in my bite. Since the summertime I’ve been dealing with food getting wedges between the area that he “fixed”. I now have to make sure there is floss in all of my coat pockets, all of my purses, and in my car. If I dare have a bite to eat without packing my floss, I am left uncomfortable and ANGRY with Dr. Shiva. I stopped going there. I went to another dental office and got the opinion of two different dentists. Initially I told them I had 4 more cavities to fill. Both of them examined my mouth (on separate occasions) and told me I had ZERO cavities!!! Like I damn well knew initially!!! I don’t have not one cavity!!! The first dentist felt horrible that I was lied to and charged me only $50 for the exam. The second dentist also felt horrible and charged me nothing for the exam. He noticed the trauma and paranoia that my experience with Dr. Shiva has caused me. I’m so mad that I trusted EK Dental/Dr. SHIVA. I could tell he was lying to me based on his demeanor and I’m so upset that I didn’t trust my gut! Now I have to deal with this huge gap in my teeth that he created. If Dr.Shiva was your dentist and told you you had cavities…please get a second opinion. He cannot be trusted!! Less

By far the absolute worst dentist I have ever been to. They quoted me for a root canal and never told I would need a crown until they handed me the paper work for another $1200 dollars. I walked out and found another dentist with cheaper pricing . Never go here, EVER.

Their work itself is decent. However, they are disorganized, I had to go back to the lobby for half an hour after the initial assessment. They charge triple of other dentists I've been to in the GTA. The office is old feels dirty, the equipment is not up-to-date. You think if they charge such a high rate, they would reinvest in their equipment.

Been coming here for over 2 years. Had several cavities removed as well as a root canal. The entire clinic from the Front Desk to Doctor Shiva Monga is extremely nice and professional. Great rates too. Would highly recommend choosing EK dental as your dentist clinic. Would give 6 stars if I could.

The staff at VSDental is incredibly friendly, greeting you as you come in the door. Dr. Shawn Monga is knowledgeable and explains everything to you in understandable terms. He, as well as Hygienist Renogy, took the time fully go over my dental health, and presented several options on how to improve my teeth — and all this is done in a professional and positive manner. Long Review Cum Story: I never had any issues with my teeth in my life. Since I had unutilized insurance, a known of mine recommended me to get the cleansing done from EK. First appointment: They took various X-Rays and did a little bit of cleaning and charged my insurer more than 500 bucks. (Since I didn't have to pay anything from my pocket, I ignored it.) Second appointment: I was told that there are two small cavities which need filling. I trusted these folks and went ahead with the treatment. Again my insurer was charged exorbitant amount. (Fillings fell out after a week or so). Third appointment: (This is where things started going awry) I was told that there is a wisdom tooth in very nascent stages. I should get it removed so that it won't create any problems in future. I trusted these folks and got my wisdom tooth extracted. But to my surprise, the lady at the reception told me that I will have to pay some amount from my pocket as wisdom tooth is not covered in insurance. (I was not made privy to this information before the extraction). After I got the wisdom tooth removed, I started having immense pain in my jaws/teeth/tongue. I even passed out multiple times because of pain. I went couple of times to the clinic for the pain. To my dismay, first time my problem wasn't taken seriously and on second visit, I was referred to an Oral surgeon. Oral surgeon found out that wisdom tooth extraction wasn't clean and there were bone spicules which were cutting into my tongue. As per him, "Dentist who had done the wisdom tooth extraction should have taken care of that. " I ended up paying money from my own pocket to get it rectified from an Oral surgeon since EK had already exhausted the insurance amount by claiming exorbitant amount from my insurer. P.S. It seems they are paying for reviews to keep their overall rating on a higher side. Most of the detailed reviews have faced same problems I had faced. Maybe some of us should collectively file a complain with 'Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario' against EK and the doctors running it. Less

The personnel is very kindly and professional, with competitive prices. I highly recommend this dentistry. I felt relaxed and in a friendly environment. Just remember that the main entrance is shared with other businesses located in the first floor.
