Nakomi is an absolute godsend !! My story: I was 39 weeks 6 days pregnant to the day when I called Nakomi for an induction massage. The week prior I had attempted two membrane sweeps that were unsuccessful Bc of no dilation at all of my cervix. I was getting pretty anxious going into my due date with no signs of labor upcoming and was trying everything. Pelvic excercise daily, pineapple, raspberry leaf tea, dates , the whole nine yards and nothing. Nakomi did part 1 of my massage on my exact due date. That night , I felt some light cramping with what I thought were continued Braxton hicks which I ignored. The following morning, I lost a portion of my mucous plug and had a small bloody show. She came For part 2 of my massage . Within hours ( and I mean hours, 2-3 tops) I went into full blown active labor- contractions came on strong at 4-5 minutes apart, lasting a minute long. Got to the hospital pretty shortly and was already 5 cm along. I do not know what type of magic she has, but she is magic. Absolutely incredible massage. HIGHLY recommend. Where do I begin? Nakomi has been an angel and shining light in my pregnancy and newborn journey! I felt comfortable with her right away and was excited to have found my doula. During the birth of my daughter, Nakomi was the calming and stable presence I had hoped for. My husband and I were smart enough to book Nakomi as a night nurse for the three months after our daughter was born. While reserving a night nurse initially felt like an unnecessary indulgence, I can’t say enough how much this helped me in so many ways: with recovery, getting some much needed sleep, and most importantly in helping my little babe learn how to sleep through the night! To top it all off, Nakomi provided me with an incredible in-home massage that allowed me to relax and release much of the tension being stored in my body post-birth. We had the pleasure of working with Nakomi as our infant doula and would highly recommend. She has a natural, calm, supportive demeanor, that is very much needed in those first few weeks with your little one.
