I've been working with Scott for just over 3 months now and I'm extremely pleased with what we've accomplished so far. I've been working with Scott for just over 3 months now and I'm extremely pleased with what we've accomplished so far. During that time we've been training 2 times per week for weightlifting workouts, and Scott also put together a diet and cardio plan for me to cover non-training days. I've been checking in daily with him to help nail down the new habits, and that's been exactly the extra accountability I've needed to stick to the plan. He's even offered to act as an "accountability buddy" and help me check in on other, non-fitness habits I've been working to establish. The monthly check-ins (weight, bodyfat, and physical measurements) are nice for putting numbers to the gains I was feeling, but the primary benefits for me have been the intangibles. My results have progressed more quickly than I expected. As of the 3-month check in, my body fat is down, I've gained 15 lbs, body measurements are trending in the correct direction, and my working weights for lifts continue to get heavier. Even more so than the quantitative gains, the intangible ones have meant even more to me. My self-confidence has improved, and I am happier when I look in the mirror; my body feels stronger and more useful; and back pain has essentially gone away with my increase in core strength. I'm lucky that I live only 5 blocks from Scott's place, but my decision to start working with him has been transformative for me. It's felt to me that Scott cares about what he does and is invested in me and my health on a personal level. However, that does come with the disclaimer that Scott is the first personal trainer I've worked with, so take all of the above as you will/ymmv/etc. Bottom line: my experience has been fantastic, no complaints, and I'd absolutely recommend Scott's training services to others. Highly recommend, almost 5 months I feel the changes, though my goal is far away from being finished.I know with Scott it'll be done the motivation I get every morning, and even if I'm down, I leave the sessions with a smile and ready to push pass my limits!!!😃
I came to Scott looking to build my chest/shoulders and slim down. He put me on a simple program, learning good form, that progressively increases the weight I was lifting. Additionally, he game me a nutrition plan to help me lose weight. I’ve stuck to the program, built some muscle and in 2 months have already dropped about 10 lbs of body fat. Upon turning 50, I was seeking a trainer that specializes in weight training, as I am focused on longevity and building and preserving lean mass as I age. Scott and I connected around my goals and I jumped into barbell training with him 5 months ago. As a female, I conveyed to Scott that I want to get more fit and toned, and not get bulky, which I think is a common fear among women. We talked about building strength and muscle over time, as well as overall nutrition and health goals. The last 5 months of training have been a great experience. I have been building strength from day 1, and with a combined focus on nutrition, have been getting leaner and seeing new muscle tone (and not bulking!). We increase my weights at each session and when I hit a plateau, we reset. Scott has a deep background in lifting and training and is very focused on form and execution. Under his guidance, I now feel very confident lifting heavy weights. I typically work out with a partner and sometimes solo. My workouts include squats, dead lifts, bench press, shoulder press, and tricep curls. Scott is receptive to designing a workout that fits my needs and goals. Scott trains out of his decked out home gym in his garage, that he heats in the winter and leaves open with fans in warmer weather. It's a great set up and the neighborhood location in Park Hill is very convenient for me. As a professional working from home full-time, I had found myself sitting in front of a computer a great deal recently, feeling weak. I have dabbled in strength training, but never had a great grasp on tracking progress and setting goals until I started working with Scott. His recommendation for my goal of building strength and size has been sticking with four compound movements (squat, bench press, shoulder press, and deadlift), and is working great for me! He is always attentive and corrects my form when needed to make sure I'm not placing myself in danger of an injury, which is greatly appreciated. Three months in, I am lifting more than ever and feeling as strong as ever thanks to Scott's program and guidance. Scott is a true professional and presents himself that way at all times. I was surprised at how weak I had become because day-to-day activities don’t necessarily highlight your physical strength. What I found out quickly was that Scott’s method of training has helped me gain results faster than any other personal trainer I have ever had throughout my life. I have more energy, I am sleeping better, and I am definitely gaining muscle tone! I am committed to Scott for my journey back to being my best self because he has already proven he can get me there. Although I am active, I never really considered weight training to be something that I would be interested in. I’ve always concentrated more on cardio type exercise and up until now I have never worked with a coach. After my wife started weight training with Scott, she offered to introduce us and suggested that I try it out. Being in my mid-50s I was not expecting any miracles. I went into it as an experiment, and I am very pleased with both Scott as a trainer and the improvements that I have experienced. Over the past three months of working with Scott I have experienced improvements not only in strength but also quality of life in many areas. Better fitting clothes and everyday movement being easier are just a couple of the improvements that I have noticed. Before starting Scott’s program, I would occasionally have back and knee pain, and since gaining strength these problems have greatly subsided. I have better range of movement and just feel better overall. Scott’s coaching style is persistent but not overbearing. He is there to remind me when I miss a workout or do an exercise incorrectly but never comes across as heavy handed. He is very helpful in steering me the right way when it comes to the mechanics of lifting. He understands the best and most efficient way to do a particular exercise and will explain that to me, rather than just telling me the how without the why. And when something doesn’t sink in, he puts it in a different way that I can understand. I also appreciate Scott’s knowledge concerning nutrition and the need to eat correctly to build muscle mass. My renewed capacity for lifting entire sheets of plywood, heavy equipment, and moving 1 ton of landscaping gravel for my new woodshop is welcomed. This would not be possible without Scott’s guidance and attention to form in every workout. I have been in and out of the gym since I was 42, but I have never experienced these results. Simple tasks are noticeably easier too, like climbing staircases and ladders. Reduced back, knee, and sleeping problems are also a benefit. Often, I am the representative for my companies, and as an added plus, my confidence in the business world has increased. Through my years in the climbing industry I have begun to notice how out of balance my body was. In climbing I'm primarily pulling my own body weight with very little attention to antagonist exercises. I decided I wanted to experience another avenue of fitness that would help balance me out. I have always been hesitant to start lifting weights because I didn't want to create bad habits or hurt my body. Scott has helped me gain the confidence I needed to feel comfortable lifting as well as technique and drive. Because of Scott I plan to make lifting a part of my life indefinitely! My focus was to put on muscle and mass, in the two months I have been working with Scott I have gained 12lbs and feel stronger than ever. I considered myself in shape(mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally) for my age. I work out, eat relatively healthy, drink water, and meditate. I am a former scholar athlete. My main sport was baseball until freshman year of college; I also played football, basketball, golf, skiing, and soccer. I currently stay active by being a sports official (basketball, baseball, softball, and volleyball) as well occasionally participate in adult leagues (mens & co-ed in softball, basketball, flag football, volleyball, and baseball). I would describe Scott Beall as an active listener, motivator, facilitator, teacher, as well as patient, realistic, sincere, optimistic, energetic, and authentic. So I looked up trainers near my home and found Scott. He is very focused and disciplined in his approach to weight training. He provides the proper techniques to lift weights. He will not provide you with an aerobics program or interval training. His focus is to provide you the opportunity to become stronger regardless of your circumstances. He wants to understand clients’ motivations to craft a customized workout program. While I thought I had a decent amount of lifting experience, Scott quickly identified bad habits I had developed in my form. He is constantly encouraging, which is important as I am reaching a strength plateau that I am having to work hard to break through. Finally, Scott is organized and disciplined which allows him to provide the accountability that makes for a successful lifting program. I felt like I’ve gotten as far as I could on my own, and needed some professional guidance. I also felt that it would be more efficient to use the guidance of a professional rather than learn it on my own. Scott is a very intelligent and well-informed personal trainer, who has spent (and continues to spend) a great deal of time learning about weight lifting, and everything that goes along with it. This includes muscle functions, diet, sleep, supplements, and anatomy. Scott himself is professionally coached and trained, and also certified to teach. Scott is open to explaining details and being challenged; I like to understand the what and why, and haven’t had any issues with Scott’s explanations. My experience with Scott has been very positive. I have been training with Scott for just over 3 months, and the results speak for themselves - for example, my squat has increased from 185 lbs to 255 lbs (3 sets of 5 reps). Scott has helped tremendously with correcting my form, providing real-time cues, and programming for load/sets/reps/exercises/splits. Each session with Scott is personally tuned for my workload and my current state. Scott is a pleasure to talk to as I’m resting between sets, and I look forward to all of my work out sessions. In addition to strength increases, Scott has helped me get over a barrier of gaining weight to get bigger and stronger; this has been a struggle for me in the past, but I have now gained 40 lbs, with noticeable increases in strength. My short term goal was to get stronger for a four day hike coming up at the end of the summer and a long term goal of becoming stronger to live a healthy/quality life. My training focused on squats, deadlifts, overhead press and benchpress. With Scott’s excellent coaching I was able to do squats without any knee pain. That in itself is well worth it! I am a 30-year-old guy who has often dabbled with weight training and has been in and out of gyms for the better part of 15 years. I am still learning how complex and sophisticated strength training taught by a expert is and how the results amplify as technique is mastered. Advancing training and not just doing the same thing all the time is another key concept I have been taught. Talk about sleep pattern, nutrition, a optimistic life view, music and many other things that come up during training appointments adds to the experience. Scott provides a quiet environment (not like commercial gyms) and staying with the same trainer is a necessary plus. I am a retired Pediatrician now 10 years still busy and having fun. When I think about it a moment I can't imagine how I would feel without the strength training routines. I wanted a trainer who would keep me accountable, but who was also knowledgeable about barbell lifting and who wouldn’t have me lifting 2lb pink dumbbells and cutting a bunch of calories. Now that I’ve been working with Scott 2x/wk, I’ve been much more consistent, even when I work out on my own, and I feel much better in so many ways. Our sessions are an hour long and based on my goals (fat loss and strength gains) we do two big lifts plus a ~5-10min cross-fit type session for cardio. SBF is a great place to work on my strength goals. Today I feel a lot stronger and capable of pushing my self to do more than I though possible. Scott sets up an atmosphere that creates safe movement but also the positive reinforcement to go further than I thought possible.

I am thankful for my trainer Scott screaming at me, "knees out" every time I'm doing squats and making sure my form is correct and that I'm not injuring myself. His continued pressure has helped me learn and grow in my weightlifting knowledge. But I am most #Thankfulformytrainer, for the fact that when I had some family issues going on that kept me from the gym for awhile that he continued to check in on me from time to time.
