George De Bolt is an awesome tour guide. He drove us around Pittsburgh and really gave us a feel for the city and its spirit. He pointed to historic buildings , brought us to an incline. We rode the incline and then he showed us the interior workings of the Duquesne Incline ( An incline is a sort of an elevator that goes an an angle.) Lastly, I am not generally a sports fan, but got an appreciation for the devotion that “ Yinzers” ( Pittsburgh’s slang term for themselves) have for their teams) A high light of our tour was when he showed us “ the immaculate reception”. It is a foot print in cement where the Steelers member Franco Harris caught the ball and saved the day. Less

We had a wonderful tour with George! He customizes the tour based on your interests and hobbies. He is SUPER knowledgeable about Pittsburgh and history in general, and he does it all with a sense of humor! He is a captivating speaker, involving participation from those who are taking the tour. While I have never lived in PA or Pittsburgh, my parents grew up in the area and I have a lot of family here, so I have visited a lot, but this is the first tour I’ve ever taken, and George taught me so much about Pittsburgh that I never knew. George was fantastic!!! If you want to learn about Pittsburgh take this tour!! George picked us up and dropped us off at our Airbnb. He was a wealth of information! He had photos and maps to help orient us all during the tour. We have done a lot of city tours - and Pittsburgh would have been hard without a guide because there is not a lot left to physically look at - but George did a fantastic job bringing to life what once was there!! Although I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, since moving to the Bay Area as an adult, my family of 5 has not spent much time in Pgh. During a recent visit to the Burgh, my goal was to help my three teens and wife fall in love with the city I have so much pride for. George and his two hour tour did the trick. He is a class act and a gentleman. He truly loves Pittsburgh and knows the city inside and out. He is friendly and funny and made us feel like he knew each of us. A couple of bonus things: he rented a larger van to accommodate our big family and he took great photos using our phones along the way. I would highly recommend his tour to anybody! From start to finish, this tour was awesome! George reached out two days beforehand to confirm pickup details, and he even called to have a quick chat. The 2 hour tour was packed from start to finish with conversation and many details about the city of which he is clearly very passionate about. Our stay in Pittsburgh was only 48 hours, and I couldn't think of a better way to maximize it than this. If you're headed to Pittsburgh and want to learn about the city, this is the tour, and George is your guy. Less
