George is a walking encyclopedia regarding the steel industry history in the Pittsburgh area. He made that history come alive as we visited sites of former steel mills and learned why Pittsburgh became the center of the industry in the US and the world. Much of his knowledge stems from his father who, as a truck driver, lived during the height of the steel revolution and passed on his stories to George. It’s a must tour for anyone wanting to better understand Pittsburgh and the key role it played in building the United States and how it has transitioned to a tech hub today. Less
