The Gaitway Mentorship Program is perfect for those like myself trying to get into the horse business with little to no knowledge. My kiddos got into horses with this being the culture of the area. One thing led to another and before you knew it, we wanted to lease or purchase a horse possibly. I didn’t even know how to saddle a horse properly and knew I needed help. I reached out to area barns, took lessons, and even mucked stalls. Lessons only covered riding and not the actual care and unknown experiences of being a horse owner. These guys are great. I contacted them about consignment for a 2yr old mare. Within 48 hours they’d been out to talk to me and spend some time with Coco, and within a few days they’d had potential buyers. Unfortunately my mare was injured Saturday morning and I had to make the hard decision to euthanize. I had no idea what to do or who to call. I was emotionally broken and lost. I called Chad. He was in the middle of running around and stopped everything to talk me through what was happening and express his sorrow for my impending loss. He recommended a vet in my area and kept checking in with me throughout the weekend to make sure I was okay. It was a sad ending but Chad made me feel like I wasn’t alone. Like someone cared just for the sake of being a good human. I will always promote him and the WUH family because they give what’s so often lost - care and concern regardless of the situation or circumstance.
