Love dropping in while out here on vacation.
Incredible BJJ gym. I’ve been here two months and have lost over 30 pounds already. All the coaches and instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and very good at what they do. Stopped by an open mat… great group of guys with good energy… highly recommend!
If you are on a path of self-improvement (or wish to be); do yourself a favor and schedule a free consultation! Your best self will thank you.
Truly the best place for beginners to learn jiu jitsu, or for anyone who wants a welcoming, cheerful, and humble group of people to roll with. The culture is relaxed, respectful, attentive, and everyone takes care of one another. Great vibes. Great rolls. Great jiu jitsu. I just won double gold at a recent tournament, so the stuff definitely works. Come for the jiu jitsu, stay for the people
Visiting from Richmond. Dropped in for Friday night open mat. Super welcoming, clean, and large space. Will definitely come back if I’m ever in the area.
This place is amazing. The coaches are great, the people are friendly and welcoming and excited about helping each other out every training session. I came here originally to gain some basic skills, and now I’m looking at trying my hand at competition. It’s a wonderful environment for all ages and all people, regardless of where you are in your fitness journey or BJJ experience!
I was in Phoenix for a week and wanted to drop in at any gym that welcomes visitors. Out of four gyms, Grey Wolf Ares was the only one to respond back to me. Rolling there was not just an awesome workout, but a really good class to learn from as well. I look forward to coming back here whenever I’m in town.
Completing this challenge has been the best thing I’ve done in the last decade. John and all the other trainers are amazing people and surround themselves in this academy with the best, most encouraging people.
I found Grey Wolf bjj on Instagram back in June of this year John was advertising his weight loss challenge. I said what the hell let's do it I'm 305lbs at that time. I figured the constant movement would help me more that what I was currently doing. Fast forward to currently I'm down to 272lbs I feel better, moving better and feel healthier over all. I figured the constant movement would help me more that what I was currently doing. Fast forward to currently I'm down to 272lbs I feel better, moving better and feel healthier over all. Now for the training it's top knotch there is no gimics you get what you put into it. And it feels like my second family. You make friends here almost right away no one wants anyone to fail. Unless we are competing against one another then it's game on. So to summarize this up if you join Grey Wolf you will get excellent training and mentoring from some of the best bjj instructors in AZ but you will have the best time of your life, becoming better than when you walked in the door. Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is changing my life everyday and Greywolf Ares is the reason why. We have the best coaches that instill the right mindset to learn and get better everyday. Not to mention the space is incredible with the natural light, it is the perfect environment to train BJJ.
Great gym to train at. Very high level guys to come learn from. Also very welcoming atmosphere for someone looking to try it out.

Great place to go and get started in jiu jutsu! Coach Cabay and all the other coaches really build an environment that feels welcoming to beginners. Joining this gym has easily been one of the best decisions I have made. Instructors are awesome and we have alot of fun!
This has been an amazing experience. I'm 8 weeks in and every coach is legit and very accepting of your experience level. Especially if you have ZERO training in any kind of grappling or boxing, like me. Truly thankful to coach Cabay for the opportunity to better myself. Stop thinking about it and join this gym.
Warrior Challenge success! Amazing vibe, even better people. Stoked to have a place like this to call home. 🤘🏼
I'm a 50 year old middle aged man doing Jiu Jitsu. I've always wanted to, but life got in the way in the past. World Class Gym and Instructors! John has created a comfortable environment for any level. EVERY SINGLE coach truly cares, and it shows through their instruction. The facility is beautiful and has a "positive vibe" that you just feel when you walk in. Train at Greywolf!!!
Nice instructor in clean new facility.
Greywolf is a 'natural' Professor. His attention to the details of each component is 'on point' and so helpful. So grateful to have this beautiful new place to train.
Coach John is the real deal. Not only is his BJJ fire, but his love for others is genuine. If you are in the area, I highly recommend Greywolf BJJ! You are not only going to get technical jiu-jitsu, but you are going to get a beautiful space to train with kind, caring coaches and teammates.
John is a great BJJ instructor and his location is in a great spot right off the 51 freeway and Thunderbird. If you have a chance pop in and train.
