Food was excellent as was the service. I would recommend to friends.
I have applied to this place 5 times, I am more than qualified this job. Management doesn't know what they are doing. Just read the other reviews, see how they respond to reviews, bad business model , the place is going downhill. Beware stay away. They don't deserve you hard earned money.
My favorite place to go for my birthday each year! This time the food was a little overcooked (some charred bits), but still tasted good overall.
Always amazing
Good food. Price is based on weight, so it's good for everyone no matter how hungry you are!
Service was kind and courteous. The pick your own stir-fry was nightmarish, just a mess of raw food meat and sauces. The food tasted like nothing, just an overall bad experience
Our waiter was super nice, friendly and answered all our questions. (sadly I did not get his name) Food is always good and LOVE that you choose what you want

Maybe instead of arguing with everyone who leaves a negative review, you should try and use it to improve. It doesn’t look good for you. Good luck with your business! We decided to come here to get bao buns, we didn’t feel like driving all the way downtown and we saw them listed on the menu. They were not cheap and ended up being truly awful. They were incredibly dry and actually cold… it’s a bread that’s supposed to be steamed so pretty strange that it would be cold. Clearly they were just microwaved or something… It was stale and just disgusting. The toppings were also mediocre at best. The staff was very nice but the food was just awful. Maybe their stir fry is good and we should have gotten that. Really bad experience…I regret going here! Waste of money. Looking now at the reviews I wished I read them more… the are reviews as old as 1 year ago saying the bao is terrible and they clearly have not improved them at all. I guess they don’t care!! Save your money and go to a real restaurant. Less
We've always gone and done the typical build your own stir fry that you pay by weight which had never been an issue until today. My wife and daughter grabbed a bowl and filled it up with their choices and brought it to the scales as normal. Unexplained to them they had chosen "the wrong type of bowl" and were charged a flat rate of 27$ each. To be clear my daughter had 11.69$ worth of food on the scale and my wife was just short of 15$. Never was it indicated to them that they had chosen this alternate bowl option. Had we known they would have obviously loaded them up to the max to take advantage of the flat rate. Instead my daughter was charged over twice the amount she should have been and my wife was charged almost 10 dollars more than what her bowl weighed... I apparently chose the right type of bowl and paid 19$ for more food than the two of them combined. When I called back after I realized what happened they kept saying they had explained it to us which they certainly hadn't. At what point does common sense kick in and someone realize why am I charging this ten year old 27$ for 12$ worth of food. Management was of very little help when I called and wouldn't even have a conversation about and kept bouncing me around between employees. They wound up offering a ten dollar store credit which hardly makes up for the deceitful practices. Be carefull what bowl you pick up because it may cost you way more than it should... As a reply to your comments, I am fully aware of the fact restaurants are trying to recover from COVID it's well known. I have no problem with the concept of the "One Bowl" or the fact that once someone chooses that route they can't go back. What I have a problem with is the fact that your offered it to members of my family without explaining what it was. When you ask a ten year old "are you having one bowl?" what do you think she is going to say? Backing up deceitful practices by saying you're recovering from covid is just poor business practice. I work in the service industry myself and transparency and making sure what your customers know what they are paying for is key. Clearly they aren't values for you or your staff. I'm also supposed to be receiving a call from corporate but have you to receive one. Less

The atmosphere is fine. The service was only okay - it took a very, very, very long time to get some of our plates even when considering that our very large party was a bit disorganized on ordering so we were more than patient at first. The food is just incredibly bland overall. I tried *several* dishes, and it was just not very good at all. If you don't have an adventurous palate, maybe this is the restaurant for you, though. They do have vegan and gluten-free options, which was nice and inclusive. The hot and sour soup was mostly broth and was missing the sour component as well as not being very hot. It had a few of the right components but missed the mark. The bao were cold, the bread was a bit dry but fine, and the sauce and fresh veg garnish was the only tasty part (chicken). The wheat wraps were bland and dry, so they cracked when trying to use them. The waitress hadn't explained the full process, so I had to confirm what the basket of rolled up things were and one of the guests had to go find the waitress for their 'ticket' as they had chosen to 'build their own bowl' but didn't have the full process explained at all. The szechuan chicken my partner had was burnt and bland and quite a small portion of a noodle based dish. My firecracker shrimp was bland with a pinch of heat, and I'm a wimp for heat. Also, a small portion and a noodle based dish with tiny shrimp. No, we did not complain to the staff. We paid for what we ordered and will not be back. There is no point in complaining as we did not wish to be compensated or to get more food. We ordered off of the menu as we figured a safe option would be the curated offerings that have been created specifically as what the restaurant believes is a winning combination. It was not good. The worst part is that for 2 drinks, 2 meals, and 1 appetizer, it was 100$, with a tip. It's astonishingly not worth it. I recommend that you review your prices and serving sizes. I recommend that you add clear and simple directions on the menus and bring them to all instead of making customers ask for them. I also recommend that you review your 20 homemade sauces. I tried 5 tonight and have zero interest in trying the other 15, especially at such steep costs. Less
Basically make your own and they cook it on a flat grill for you. I can't say it was stir-fried since it just stays there for a bit and the staff moves it around a bit then stacked it on my plate. I felt it was over cooked. I liked my choices, they offer many options.

Love how the food turns out do well in the end
Sizzling brownie That's enough for me to give 5 stars
Excellent food, very friendly staff! Hot and sour soup is so good, and love the wraps that come with the stir fry👌
Enjoyed the all you can eat bowl
Delicious
If I could give a 0 I would. The food was grossly overpriced and was not good at all. The server was rude. The hot and sour soup was neither hot nor sour and barely even soup.
The food was pretty bad. They have a lot of options but when they cooked my food a lot of the meat was burnt. The hot and sour soup was really bad and the wheat wraps they serve or just cold and tasteless.
Was better before but they have lowered their quality a bit
We have been going to the Mongolian Village for years! Still love it. Some things have changed over the years and are not our favourite changes, the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. Anyone going for the first time would not notice. The food is excellent, tasty (if you pick the right sauces) and fresh. They now also have some Tex-Mex options.

First off, I ordered hot and sour soup, not able to finish it, it was way too spicy and felt like I was drinking vinegar and soy sauce directly. Now the main course, I ordered chicken wings, chicken quesadia, mangolian beef and kung pao chicken. Mangolian beef had no flavor, it was like it only had salt and was boiled. Too much soy sauce to ruin the taste if I may add. Kung Pao chicken on the other hand had some taste and it was the only dish we enjoyed a bit. The wings took about a good 20mins to arrive and when they did, they didnt seem fresh were cold. And lastly, chicken quesadia, you could only taste the quesadia and cheese, the chicken had no flavor at all. Let me add that the bill was not worth the shot to even dine in here. Very disappointed and will not be returning back to this restaurant ever. I understand due to lack of halal options in ottawa especially in the west end side there is not much of competition and restaurants charge whatever they feel like. I would rather pay a bit more and get a tasteful experience other than wasting money on restaurants like Mangolian Village. Less
Incredibly underwhelming takeout experience (twice) that had a couple of missed order ingredients, barely any sauce, and overall created a poor experience. Would not recommend for consistency doing take out, and I would only hope that in-person dining is better.
I wish I could give them zero stars..horrible horrible food ..undercooked meat..smelly..old old lettuce and guacamole..and uncooked fish..DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and get something else to eat..and save ur $$$
The service was awesome. Brian our waiter was very friendly. Food was amazing as usual.

We got our drinks in a few minutes but told to wait a little for our food. Around 6:30, the waiter came and told us that we were not forgotten and our food would arrive soon. Since we’ve been waiting for about 40 mins, we thought they would bring our orders in a few minutes. However, 15 minutes past and there was still no food. I proceeded to talk to the manager and she told me I’m normally supposed to get my order in 20-25 mins (she thought we just got there). When I told her we’ve been waiting for 50 minutes, she said it would take 5-10 minutes. This is a LONG time of wait already. Also, everyone that arrived after us got their food and finished it before we even got ours. Anyways, our tacos arrived after 5 minutes and the rest of the orders in the next 10 mins. The manager came and told us she will give us 20% off because of the inconvenience. When we were making the payment, we realized there was only $4 discount, which is not even close to 20%. When we brought that up, the manager came and she told us she is only giving discount for the bowls because they arrived late. Well, what about the tacos? They arrived just 5 after we complained about the service. We asked for everything to be discounted and she wasn’t happy about that. She then agreed to give discount to tacos as well. Whatever. I’m not angry that they didn’t give us enough discount but rather the service we received. They were already faulty at not preparing food on time and blaming the food preparation process taking long (just to remind, this is a restaurant and it’s their job to cook) and they still treated us like nothing happened and tried to full charge us for the most. I felt very uncomfortable. Food was delicious but I won’t be back. Less

Would definitely recommend to eat here if you have no allergies. My one concern/observation(from a person who has family with those food allergies) is that they should have the seafood and the nuts at the very end of the ingredient lineup(or in a separate little table by themselves) since those are the two most common allergies and would be the farthest and/or safest route for those that would like to dine there with family but have those specific allergies. Possibly the nicest staff in all of ottawa! My mother and I sat down outside in the rain, but the hospitality was sunny and kind. We both were first timers and the staff explained the process to us beautifully. We greatly enjoyed our meal, and will be coming back. The hot towels after a meal are divine.
Just OK. The chicken sticks that we ordered for the kids were raw (very pink/red) in the centre. Service was mediocre. I think our server was having a bad day: he didn't seem too enthused to serve us or be in the restaurant.

They were good but very little full chips (just bottom of the bag stuff) in the nachos. It also came with what seemed like movie theatre queso. Quac was good though! For the tex mex, they make it out front where you can see it being made fresh which is nice. But was a bit dampened when the ‘chef’ was making it off a printed recipe. I believe the tex mex is a new thing they’ve been doing since COVID started and it shows. We were a party of 6 and they brought our entrees 1-2 at a time, about 5-10 minutes apart. I was waiting a pretty long time for my meal to come. Thankfully I was eating with family and had a couple bites of all the meals while I waited for mine. After 5 meals arrived at the table, I had yet to get mine. It wasn’t punched in or something so was not started. On the bright side, this allowed me to change my order to something from the Mongolia menu after trying items from tex mex. Quesadillas weren’t really hot, but fine, and the burrito was just okay. I think the fish and chips were over cooked, tasted good but the batter was pretty tough to get into. Had to request knifes which seemed like a weird thing to have to do at a restaurant. The two Mongolian dishes that were ordered on time were quite good! They got my chicken teriyaki out pretty quick. It was rather tasty. Only thing is that is was super light in chicken. Enough to wonder if there was any. After a bit of digging there were little bits in the bottom. Unfortunately, service was slow too. Had to flag down the waitress (not ours) to get refills on drinks. Food was not good at and very expensive. For a 65$ tab, very disappointing. Our server was nice that's why I gave it 3 stars. Ordered a Keto bowl and got something like store bought salad swimming in water 🤢🤮. Only ate 2 bites and asked for a box. Will give it to the cats
Nothing special. Average food.
3 stars for staff and the brownie. The food was okay. One of the dishes we went for was the lamb satellite sizzler and it wasn't upto our expectations at all. Lamb is a tricky meat and this place is not great with that. The meat wasn't seasoned well and the noodles were bland. Also, we were told that the dish has its own cheese sauce. Amazing Place to Hangout for Patio 🔥❤️😎

A friend and I visited for dinner and ordered: breaded fish burrito, spicy chicken burrito bowl, chips, two coronas, and a chocolate brownie. The food did not disappoint; everything tasted fresh from the homemade burrito sauce, salsa, and guacamole. The chocolate brownie was decadent, moist, and chocolatey- sweet tooth required! The waitresses were attentive, friendly, and courteous! I was not rushed through my dinner rather given enough time to enjoy my meal and never had to wait for a refill of water. The ambiance is inviting and cleanly! Staff were prompt to ensure tables were cleaned and disinfected after each. The only reason that I didn’t give 5stars is because my burrito bowl was a tad too greasy! There is something on the menu here for everyone; Asian, Mexican, Keto, Halal, Gluten-free, and Dairy free! This hidden gem in Bells Corner is worth the visit! Less

Service is great, food is nice and seating was very nice
So happy to have discovered this local place. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Delicious Burrito and salad bowls but ecstatic to have found my new favorite beer - Order of Okanagan. . We'll be back on a regular basis 😁
Tried their New Mexican inspired menu for takeout. It was great :)
We picked up an order of Mongolian beef, kung pao chicken and calamari. The beef and chicken orders were bland and dry. The calamari was exactly 12 little pieces of squid with a small commercially produced packet of tartar sauce. We also tried the hot and sour soup and the vegetable soup but they were mostly salt, water and very little else.
By far, the worst food I've ever had, absolutely tasteless. I'm not too picky but get this. they had a side of fries & rice, they put the rice in a separate container and the stir-fry on top of the fries. it takes some real lazy cooking to get me to write a paragraph long review, but I had to make sure nobody else has to go through this. Dont eat here if you enjoy food.
Best tacos I have had in long time. Always fresh and made with care.
The most horrible experience ever!! I ordered Mongo Mixed Grill. Very small portion , 99% spaghetti with vegetables and only 1% meat chicken , no shrimps no corn no eggs on the top. The rice that came with the order was almost uneatable (tasteless, no salt at all) It doesn't worth $10 rather than $34 at all ....... First and last time ordering from them..
The food has no taste, quality was acceptable . (2) two stars because the staff is really friendly. Value price ratio is too high. Yes, a lot of food but experience wise... is too too expensive for the taste and quality.

The food has no taste and quality is very poor. I gave them two stars because the staff is friendly.
The food was really tasty and the staff was super friendly. Highly recommended
Delicious food specially the chicken teriyaki sizzler and the brownie sizzlers. Would definitely try the sizzlers again.
On the website it says One price, pick a small or large bowl. We went and filled our bowl and it was weighed. Without being able to return any of the food because it's all mixed together. Such an expensive meal for not very much food. I would never go here again.
Tried the sizzler that is on BOGO promo this afternoon. Took out. Liked the soup and sizzler plate as the plate comes itself. But however the criticism is what’s the rice for? Seems redundant and has no place on the plate since there is already chowmein/fries as default side. Hope they fix the menu. Would give a 4 and 1/2 star if could.
Worst! Ordered sizzler - and it looked like a pho. Who serves sizzlers with gravy. The packaging was so worst, they squeezed everything and all of it coming out of box. And food was soooo tasteless.
Service is really great, great packaging , however the food was very bland had no taste and didn’t put enough meat .
Been eating here for over 20 years, still love it.
Drove especially to Bells Corners on numerous occasions to enjoy an awesome meal with the best service. Hope the girl from Ethiopia is still working.
Poor menu, no fish, very strict and limited choices.....
Absolutely delicious as usual. Taking many precautions during these trying times and doing it well.
Not worth the hype atall. The service was so nagging and irritating. We had three servers coming back and fourth asking us if we are ready even when we said we need time. Coming to food it was horrible. I think they are confused what to offer us, the menu was all over , they have a mix cuisine of Mexican (tacos)Asian and i dont what others are called. We ordered egg rolls - and i all i could smell is re used oil. Then we ordered soup which was more like tamarind Juice. The noodles were disaster. They give rice as complementary which was very confusing. What do we eat the rice with? and why is it complementary when we cannot munch on! Doing a paid ad sponsor by different bloggers will not change the business. I Hope you guys will work on your service and food especially. Less
The food was good our server was excellent.
Good food, but WAY overpriced.
We (my family) had a custom order (each) made by one of the many chefs inside the restaurant. There's a big counter that reassembles a buffet where every option is labeled and after you choose all elements of your dish, the chef cooks'em on a huge grill. Delicious food and confortante outside area in front of the main entrance.

Very kind service. Thanks Joe. Great to able to see the chef cook!!! Great variety on menu including vegan and gluten free and accommodate any food alergies
Adequate
While the wood was delicious and looked fresh... the cleanliness of the facility and proper cooking methods need addressing. There was human hair stuck to the table, table it self was sticky... and to top that off, there was a bunch of hair in my plate....
MONGOLIAN VILLAGE We met another couple here for dinner on Monday evening (Mar 2/20). The four of us always loved Mongolian Village, that was until last night. We had what was without a doubt, the absolute worst waiter any of us had ever encountered. It’s started with the drink order. I asked for a Bacardi and coke, and his response was we only have Capt Morgan, but it’s the same thing. No. It. is. not! We settled on the drinks and went for our food. Upon returning to the table he approached with the drinks and lean across me, his side brushing my face in order to serve my date her drink. Very bad form! As we finished eating, I asked for the rest of my dinner “to go” He then brought a styrofoam container and dropped it in front of me and walked away. A little taken aback, I asked him how I was supposed to fill it with just a fork. Having been there many time, I knew they take your plate away and package it go. Instead, his response was to pick up my plate and scrape the food from my plate into the container with some of my food spilling onto the table. He wiped that with his hand back into the empty plate and set it back in front of me. The four us just looked at one another, incredulous. He topped it off by lean across the gentleman with us in order to retrieve his date’s plate. That’s was it, we’d had enough. We asked for the machine to pay, which he brought, and then stood over us while we used the machine. No one in our group left a tip, and none of us will be returning to the Robertson Rd location again. From now on we’ll drive across the city to the Mongolian Village at Gloucester Centre where we know we’ll get good service. Less
Always delicious. Take only what you like to eat and make it different every time.
Always enjoy eating here!
Love going here. They are so accommodating with dietary requirements. Being vegan, I know that I can go there with family and friends and everybody will be satisfied because you pick whatever you want.

We booked via the online tool early as it was for Valentines and I was pleased to receive an email confirming the booking from Ryan, so great comms from the get-go. We were met with a big smile at the door and then looked after royally by Josee our server. As this was our first time eating there, Josee took us through the options and we chose to select our own veg, meats and sauces for cooking on the hot plate by the grill chefs. Each bowl is weighed and you are charged accordingly. As soups and rice come included as a side (as much you want) we started with a hot and sour bowl of soup each and then picked our own choices from the massive selection on offer. With lots of meat options and seafood there’s something for everyone, including soy based options, along with fresh crunchy veggies. My bowl was $17 and my wife’s about $15. It was plenty of food with the rice, rice pancakes and soup. Next time we go I’ll pick more meat as it shrinks on cooking but it’s down to personal preference of course. All in, with a dessert (we shared it as we were stuffed), beer and a cocktail for about $55 plus tip was a great price. Great job guys, we’ll be back for sure! Less
Food has gone down hill.. Service not the best.
The worst service in earth
Very clean. And food is always fresh. Friendly staff. This place got me thru a pregnancy where I couldn't stand the smell of food. I go there make my food exactly how I want it with exact ingredients and its served. Was awesome! Been going there for over 10 years now as a go to for date night.
Clean☺️
The food we ordered was not good...everything was overcooked...will not go back again...fake chef who does not know anything wat he is cooking
Today it was the worst experience of Mongolian foods. We order four different dishes and all of them was awful. Tasteless 'foods quality not good at all
Was there for supper, my thoughts: it MIGHT be better suited to lunch. Staff was nice enough, service was very good. Decor, as I say, better suited to lunch (nothing fancy). Great choices for everyone. Would go again, for sure! Soup, rice and a bowl of my choice! Love it.
Our waiter, Mario, was fantastic. He was always on top of filling drinks and bringing more rice, etc. right when we needed it. The food was excellent, it’s hard to go wrong when you get to pick everything yourself. The food comes fast and the atmosphere is calm and pleasant. We will be recommending this location to all of our friends.
Great staff and ambiance. Food quality and service is well worth the visit. Both a pre prepared menu and self serve, create your bowl station available. Fresh ingredients, spices, veggies, meats, noodles e.t.c. Be prepared to pay by weight if you choose the self serve option. Soup and rice served with all meals. Enjoy!
Yummy. All you can eat is worth it.
Build your own stir fry. What more could you want?
Variety is fantastic but you pay for what you get so it's not cheap for lunch however
