I am just about to finish my second adult acting class and I just wanted to take a second to express my gratitude for finding NHAOPA. I was really anxious before starting the adult acting class as I had little to no experience, and really did it as a way to try something new and get out of my comfort zone while navigating some challenging life transitions. Lara's class has been such a treasured experience, it such as warm, welcoming, and fun environment that is truly playful, educational, and judgement free. You are encouraged to be silly and have fun and as an adult that is hard to find! I have learned so much about myself as a person and experienced such growth both inside and outside of the classroom thanks to Lara and the lovely group of people met in these classes. It has given me more confidence, and truly helping me find my way back to discovering my authentic self. Cannot recommend NHAOPA more! truly a highlight of my week for past 24 weeks!

I usually submit my review once I've completed a class in full, but I simply could not wait this place is so fantastic, its one of the best investments I've ever made! Billy and Lara are incredible people and this place is more than just a spot to get lessons. The adult acting class is a highlight of my week- I have made friends and each session I am blown away by how quickly my peers are advancing in skill (I seriously can't stop smiling when watching everyone perform.) I am kicking myself I didn't do this years ago, it's shocking how amazing I feel since starting this class; I have more confidence, my speech is more clear, it has helped my anxiety, I have a deeper appreciation for actors & performers, and I feel like I have a truer connection between my body/voice and my mind- also most importantly I have SO MUCH FUN (I haven't felt like this since I was a kid!) Lara Morton is such an exceptional instructor- she is kind, funny, genuine, not afraid to give real feedback but in a way that is so beautifully constructive- she is a TRUE PROFESSIONAL- I'm not kidding she knows her stuff, her notes, tips and lessons are all nuggets of gold, every class my mind is blown (which is hard to do for me because I can be quite skeptical!) Everything I have learned applies to my daily life and I will continue to remember forever, all thanks to Lara, Billy & everyone at New Haven Academy of Performing Arts.

We have been with NHAOPA for over three years and it has been one of the best experiences for our daughter. She started voice lessons as a way to build her confidence and that has translated into other parts of her life. Billy and Neil and their team foster a truly supportive environment that meets kids/teens where they are. Singing brings our daughter joy, but NHAOPA has brought her friendship, confidence, and a true sense of self.

My child has been taking voice lessons from Mr Edwin here for almost 2 years now. Their range, vocal skills, confidence in singing, all have improved tremendously. Mr. Billy who runs the place checks in periodically. Last year- they had the opportunity to participate in the musical theater summer camp and perform on stage - it was the most wonderful experience. The teachers were warm , caring and took a personal interest in the development of my child. I am so glad that our child is part of this NHAOPA family.

Sincerely speaking, the New Haven Academy of Performing Arts is by far the best Performing Arts school in Connecticut in my opinion. I was in search of a school for my daughter and after seeing a Facebook ad, I decided to give them a call. From Day 1 Mr. Billy was truly welcoming. He and the Coaches do an amazing job with taking each kid to their own level of performing arts and it has been amazing to witness. My daughter is extremely excited when she has lessons approaching. If you are looking for a place where your kids can learn, have fun and be structured this is the place to be.
