Hi There , I was 248 ibs on Dec 30 th / 2021 and felt bloated and had a big belly with no energy . SO -- I decided that if I don't do something about my poor body health before it was too late, I would have medical problems that would be not repairable . I turned 69 on June 30 th and I now weigh 220 ibs , can do 45 min. on the elliptical on level 3 , lost my belly ( mostly ) my clothes actually fit again , took a notch on my belt , feel better , eat better foods now , and have way , way more energy . This proves that it's never , ever , to late to take control of your body and health . This was the single most important thing I've done for my body in my life and in 2022 for sure . Karen worked with her every week for a month, and then every second week, holding her accountable for home work and taking her through steps to understand how her mind and emotions work. I was struggling with finding any joy and meaning in my life, despite things appearing fine from the outside. I went into this experience thinking I had to work on the external factors in my life (new career goals, family goals, exercise goals, eating goals etc) but in the first session we tackled my thoughts, feelings and beliefs. Much to my surprise, my life coaching experience with Karen helped me learn more deeply about myself, and how some pivotal moments in my past shaped how I lived and acted today. Surprisingly, it wasn't "talk therapy" that revealed any of this, but focused weekly action and work that we did, some of it on my own, some of it together. Things that once gave me joy and excitement seemed non existent. It was a struggle to just get through my day. I longed for bed time so I could shut out the world and sleep away the pain. I came across Karen in a Mom’s group I follow and decided to give her a shot. At this point I had nothing to lose! Before I started working with her I was very skeptical. I’ve tried so many things over the years to help with my mental health and they all seem to work for a little a while but within months I would end up right back where I was. After just three sessions with Karen I started to notice a shift in the way I was thinking. I was approaching life from a logical mind and not an emotional mind. I’m able to take charge of my negative thoughts and now have come to understand that my thoughts create my emotions. Before we were sent to self isolation I was getting ready to leave for Costa Rica for 2 months for a self healing retreat. This did not happen because the borders to Costa Rica closed two weeks before I was supposed to leave. As you can imagine I was devastated. It was that moment I realized I had two choices. I could let the negative thoughts overcome me and head to a deep dark depression or I could choose to make the best of the situation with my logical positive mind that control my emotions. I chose the positive logical route and I can honestly say this is the happiest I’ve felt in a long time. Even in this crazy time of uncertainty and self isolation, I feel calm, positive and excited for the future, because I now know that my thoughts create my emotions which in turn create my reality! If you’re at the end of your rope and feel you just can’t go on anymore, make an appointment with Karen! She will give you the tools you need to get out of that dark hole and into a brighter place.
