This is our first visit to Sunrise and we couldn’t be more pleased. The lodge is located on LacVieuxDesert in the heart of the natural beauty of northern WI and Michigan,s upper peninsula. What makes the place so special is the staff who are so friendly and accommodating. Phil and Erica, who seem to run the day to day operationns, are great. The cabins are clean and comfortable with outdoor fire pits and all the comforts of home. We had one person in a wheelchair and the accessible cabin worked fine. The food in the dinning room was hearty and very good. We would recommend the Sunrise to anyone without reservation. (But you should make a reservation)This is a true gem in the Northwoods. Only got to spend a couple of days here, but that was enough to know we want to go back. If you need a family, I think they'll adopt you. At least that's how they made us feel. The lake is incredible, plenty of fish, just ask the eagles! Now I'm craving pancakes!!!

Absolutely stunning winter wonderland in the winter. We went the past 2 years for Ice Fishing and it is incredible.
