I consider myself very fortunate to have discovered Strength and Spine, LLC, while searching the web for just the type of service Beth Terranova and her team offer. I'm in my late 60s and wore a Milwaukee brace back in the day for a thoracic curvature. In my late 20s, I took a weight training course at a local YMCA, thinking that it might be beneficial for my scoliosis. Nearly 40 years later (including a few years as an amateur competitive bodybuilder and instructor), I'm still lifting. I've had many physical therapists over the years, but no one could give me solid advice regarding weight training and scoliosis other than it was likely very good for me to continue lifting. So I decided to do a web search this summer for a remote scoliosis exercise option -- and found Beth. She and my additional coach, Dawn, guided me through strength training exercises specific for the type of curve I have. At the conclusion of my 1:1 program, I can confidently continue doing many of the traditional exercises I have been doing supplemented by a toolbox of new scoliosis-specific exercises. I also purchased props and bands that Beth recommended. I can say that I now stand more erect and am free of some nagging scoliosis-related aches since I've been incorporating scoliosis-specific warmup moves, and core, anti-flexion, and anti-rotation exercises to my exercise regimen. The experience was made more significant because Beth herself has scoliosis, so she can relate personally and professionally. I give Beth and her team five GOLD stars for the help and direction they've given me!
