I have extremely short hair, and every other salon I visited told me I needed to wait another month before getting braids. Ms. Sylvia, however, confidently said she could do them—but they would need to be micro braids. I honestly had no idea what that meant in the braiding world, but I trusted her expertise. She told me to arrive early since it was a holiday weekend and they were only accepting walk-ins. I got there when they opened at 5:30 a.m. After helping me choose the perfect hair color and prepping the hair, she started the very first braid at 6:00 a.m. and didn't finish the last one until 7:00 p.m. The only break she took all day was about 15 minutes halfway through.By noon, the salon was absolutely hopping! There were at least 25 people there getting their hair braided, and it was amazing to watch every stylist showcase her craft. Throughout the day, I saw so many different braiding techniques and styles, and it became clear that this salon is full of incredibly talented braiders. I honestly don't know how they stay on their feet all day while producing such beautiful, detailed work for so many clients.Watching the amount of precision, patience, and skill it took for Ms. Sylvia to braid my very short hair was incredible. Her work ethic and attention to detail were truly impressive. The finished result exceeded my expectations, and I couldn't be happier. If you're looking for a salon with gifted, hardworking stylists who take pride in their craft, I highly recommend this place. And if you have short hair like mine and have been told you have to wait, go see Ms. Sylvia. She made what I thought was impossible possible, and I absolutely love my braids.
