Beautiful photos, but the giveaway felt misleading and the follow-through was disappointing. My husband and I recently did a couples boudoir shoot here after I won what was presented as a free photo shoot through a Facebook giveaway. I was told I had won out of around 600 people, so I was genuinely excited and thought this was an actual prize.I want to give credit where it is due. Everyone we interacted with was kind and welcoming, the shoot itself was a cool experience, and the photos we saw afterward were beautiful. They are clearly talented photographers, and they did a great job making us feel comfortable during the session. That said, the experience ultimately left us feeling very misled. The “free photo shoot” did not include any actual photos. Not even one unfinished/raw image. When someone is told they won a free photo shoot out of hundreds of people, I think it is reasonable to assume that the prize includes at least a couple of images. I expected that if we wanted a larger package or additional photos, we would need to pay for them. What we were not prepared for was finding out after the shoot that the smallest digital file package was only 5 images and still cost over $2,000. They did do hair and makeup for free, but that hardly matters if none of the photos it was used for are included. I would have honestly rather have done my own hair and makeup and at least gotten one or two free images.I reached out afterward because I wanted to give them a chance to address how misleading the giveaway felt. They told me they would provide a complimentary photo, which I appreciated and thought was a fair gesture. Unfortunately, that still has not happened. That made the experience feel even more disappointing because it seemed like they understood the concern, but then did not follow through.Had the giveaway included even a couple of finished images, I honestly would have walked away feeling completely differently and likely would have recommended the experience to others. Instead, it felt less like winning a prize and more like being brought in for a free session so we could then be presented with extremely expensive photo packages afterward.Again, the staff were kind, the shoot was fun, and the photos were beautiful. But I think people should know before booking, especially through a giveaway or “free shoot” promotion, that no actual images are included and that purchasing even a small number of digital files will cost thousands of dollars. If we had known that upfront, we would not have scheduled. The lack of pricing transparency, combined with the lack of follow-through after they offered a complimentary photo, made the whole experience feel misleading and disappointing.I understand that businesses need to make money and charge for their work. But a giveaway should feel like a genuine prize, not just a way to get people in the door for a high-pressure sales process. I think they would create far better word of mouth, and more trust, if their giveaways included at least a small number of images or if the pricing expectations were made extremely clear before anyone scheduled. As it stands, the “giveaway” felt more like a marketing tactic than an actual prize. That is unfortunate, because the photography itself was beautiful. But because of the lack of transparency, integrity, and the unfulfilled promise of a complimentary photo, I would not feel comfortable recommending this business to others.
