Brought our Irish Terrier in for his first pro hand strip, and Christie did an incredible job. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for hand stripping in South Austin.

Complained our dog was being bad, we had our dog there plenty of times before but it has been a a couple of months. New handler couldn’t get the whole work done right and not finished, still charged us for the whole thing. Time to find a new place for our little one.

Not a huge problem for me since I expected it going into the appointment. We spent most of the pre-appointment time talking about the matting and didn't get to talk about some small details that ended up being a lot more important than I realized. Mochi got a nail trim but not a grind so his nails are now short, yes. But they're also incredibly sharp. I'm mostly likely going to have to find a place that does free trim and grind to have that cleaned up. His butt could have been cleaned up more since there's still a good amount of hair crowding the back. And lastly, the hair on his snout could have been cut shorter. Jaclyn always does such a great job on my 11yr old cat, Boo! Boo is very fluffy and now that she's older, it's harder for her to groom herself well. Boo gets a bath, a comb cut, and a teeth brushing every 5-6 weeks or so. She's never come home stressed and I know she's comfortable with Jaclyn and As the Fur Flies. And Boo looks so cute with the bandanas!!

They're great! Pricey but worth the cost. It's obvious they really care for your pet's comfort and are true pros.

I would be very weary of taking your dog here. Our mini Bernedoodle (currently 40 pounds) has been groomed several times here since we got him 15 months ago, but today was an awful experience. I headed to drop our dog off at 1:30 for his 2:30 appointment on our way to my daughter's birthday lunch. They informed me I couldn't drop him off that early and I was caught off guard bc I have always brought our dog 30-45 minutes early. I asked for their help this time so that I could make it to lunch but was told no so I waited in the car for 45 minutes until our exact drop off time and missed my daughters birthday lunch. Then when I went back in to drop him off they looked at him and said they would need to bump him up to a large dog. I questioned this because just 8 weeks prior they increased the price by $40. But I agreed to pay the $180 grooming free this time but did question how this is decided bc there are no policies on the website and that I would have to find a new groomer bc I could not afford that. I then headed home only to get a text followed by a phone call letting me know the groomer Hannah who has been our dog's primary groomer was no longer comfortable grooming Rocky and I needed to come pick him up immediately. This entire experience wasted 4 hours of my day and my dog is still not groomed. If you have a doodle of any kind stay away bc they just keep raising the price with no policies for how they determine their price. The owner said she will always have her employees back which is fine but just know if you ever have an issue you are not permitted to express your opinion or the will refuse your business. Adrian’s customer service and ability to deal with reasonable questions is non existent. He blew up my questioning the price and drop off policy into we are uncomfortable grooming your dog. Less

As the Fur Flies is awesome! Belle always gets the cutest haircuts there and the groomers are super nice to her. She loves it every time. Definitely the go-to spot for a happy, well-groomed pup!

Be aware of their price changes. In the span of a few months, our dog’s grooming service went from $90 to $160 and we weren’t notified of pricing changes. They always seemed kind and welcoming but the pricing was enough of a flag for us to switch groomers.

Been taking my dog here for a year or so. All the groomers are excellent and will be very sweet to your dog. Ive been asking how my dog behaves at the end & he seems to do better each time. It is a little pricey but worth it as he no longer gets hot spots or as itchy as he did with some grooming spots.

We have brought our pups here twice and the staff have been nothing but kind! We have a very anxious and strong pittbull-lab mix and a squirrely blue heeler. They have been so wonderful with our dogs nail traims- they make it seem so easy. We feel so at ease knowing we have a groomer in the neighborhood that can handle them (and doesn't make us feel like bad dog parents for them being anxious!)

If this is how this business treats its customers over a miscommunication and disrespects someone that clearly deals with a language barrier, then I hope this review proves helpful to those looking for a respectful grooming business to take their furry family member to. Such a great business! I’ve been taking my Mini Aussie Avett here for about a year. He can be anxious around new people and situations, and I was worried that he wouldn’t be able to handle getting groomed at all post-pandemic. But he’s been here regularly without any issues! Definitely worth a visit if you’ve got an anxious pup.

We took our 1 year old mini schnauzer in for a full groom and she not only looked incredible when we picked her up, but she wasn't shaking or stressed out like she was at the previous groomer we went to. Best cat groom ever!

The groomers at As The Fur Flies are so great! They take the best care of my boy, Klaus, even though he’s so afraid of getting bathed. He always looks so happy when he leaves and of course, looks gorgeous.

They always do a good job to my two dogs. So glad I found here to be our a long term grooming place, and it’s super close to my place. They always get excited to go there. Highly recommend!!!

Now that she is almost 2 years old, she's still a bit of a wiggle worm, but everyone here is gentle and caring of her. They will never force your dog to anything if they see your dog is excessively stressed. They care deeply about making it a safe and comfortable enviroment! My dog is always excited to see everyone when I take her in. Laura has been our primary groomer for the past few months and she never disappoints! She is gentle and always does what I ask of her. Wow where do we even begin! This place is amazing! Our dog (Louie) is blacklisted at many chain grooming places so we tried our luck here. When we began he would not even walk into the door but the groomers here took him in and really earned his trust with the happy visits!! The groomer, Bridget, made great eye contact as she listened to all my needs and concerns regarding my Shih Tzu. Bridget was super patient with me, and she clearly knows what she’s doing! The attention to detail is greatly appreciated. DaBaby has never looked better and the results are exactly what I wanted! This is absolutely disturbing, horrifying and downright terrible business - along with a slew of other things. Your team should not be allowed to work with dogs and I want to ensure that the individual that hurt River is never allowed to touch another dog again. UPDATE: As suggested, we reached out to the company directly. In their response email, the company stated this regarding the second (deeply unsatisfactory) appointment: "In the tub, he jumped to a 4/5 FAS (fear, anxiety, and stress) score, so we quickly finished the bath, got him as cleaned up as safely as possible and again sent him home. We discussed the possibility of talking to your vet about calming or anxiety meds for future grooming appointments." I can confirm that this cat does not act differently than most other cats would for a bath since again, my partner and I washed him ourselves in the past. The company essentially admits in this quote to giving a sub-par bath. Additionally, any conversation about talking to the vet about calming meds or, later referenced in the response email, having him groomed at the vet simply did not occur. My partner was only told, "This cat super hates this still, but we sometimes see this." That's it. Nothing else was ever explained to us, especially about this FAS rating, before or after, and would not have been had it not involved the company's concern with a bad review. I was corrected in the response email - the total was "only" $118.26, which apparently does not qualify as "around" $150 as I stated below. Oftentimes, I see people update reviews for companies after increased quality of communication or customer service. I have never taken the time to negatively review a company because I understand that my experience may be but one of many. However, this response from the groomer has only reaffirmed my rating. We will not be using this groomer in the future and will warn pet owners against them moving forward. This groomer may be fine with dogs, but considering the service that we received, we would not risk it with our own dog. ORIGIONAL REVIEW: My partner and I recently adopted a cat who was previously a stray. His coat, especially the tail, needed some TLC after a life outside-he looks pretty greasy and since the base of the tail is hard to reach, we decided to get some extra help for him. We tried giving him a bath ourselves twice, and after that didn't go well because (unsurprisingly) he did not enjoy the bath, we tried for professional help. We had to bring our cat in twice-after the first time, we were told that they only brushed him since he spazzed out after seeing a nearby dog within the facility. I would think that a facility that claims to specialize in grooming cats would be able to 1. keep cats and dogs completely separate and 2. be used to cats not enjoying baths and able to handle this. If my partner and I could at least get him a little cleaner, I would have thought professionals would have been better. We made our peace with this and brought him back a second time. This time, they were able to actually bathe him, but he still looks gross. I honestly doubt that he was bathed at all. He didn't even smell nice like he was clean, let alone did he look it visually: there was no noticeable difference in his coat and the texture of it. I know that cats are meant to grooms themselves, but again, he had previously lived outside and needed some shampoo to get gunk out. The cost between both appointments ended up being about $150, and he was no better than when we initially brought him in. Totally not worth it, and honestly a little worrisome in terms of professionalism. We were considering bringing our dog here, but we will certainly be looking elsewhere in the future. Please choose another groomer if you are in a similar situation. Less

Good groomers are hard to come by. What’s even harder to find is a groomer that cares as much about your animal as you do. Even after the move I will happily go out of my way because As the Fur Flies is a groomer you can trust. We took both of our dogs there and they did a phenomenal job. I had an appointment booked here a few days after a mandatory meet and greet and when I showed up, they said the appt was not there. I felt talked down to when the lady explained how their appt system worked and since I was a first time customer and I had already been there and was told to be there at a certain time, I no longer trust them to care for my dog. As The Fur Flies always has our little man looking dapper! It's not easy to work with doodle fur, but I always trust them to do what's best for him and to do a great job. And if you forget a leash, the slip leashes they have provided come in handy so you don't have to go all the way home!!

WOW!!! What an amazing experience. I have a labradoodle that is happy to get her groom and hair that puts up no problem. I also have an old man Yorkipoo that has all of the doodle hair problems and HATES being groomed - until now. Both pups came back happily groomed and coiffed. We found that at As the Fur Flies. They work hard to schedule his appointments when no other dog are around and always communicate with me about if there will be any dogs there and what to expect. Also, they work on table training with Comet where they do specific training activities while he is being groomed to help improve his comfort levels with certain handling. He is so comfortable with the staff there and always acts so excited when we arrive. I should note, that they do a great job with his cut, but we do not go for the traditional "airedale cut". We are happy to have him washed, nails trimmed, and hair cut. Lastly, when we were looking for other groomers, some told us we would have to give him prescribed drugs prior or that he would have to wear his muzzle the whole appointment- both of which we were willing to do for safety purposes- but we are so happy that As the Fur Flies allows him to come as himself and give him opportunities to learn and change. We always bring his muzzle and extra treats for them to use at their comfort level, but he has become so much more tolerant of handling since we started getting groomed here. They told me that they couldn't finish the job and that they managed to get 3 paws out of 4. When we got home, the 3 paws that were supposedly done, had some nails that weren't trimmed. The one paw that was not trimmed happened to be a front paw. We were still charged for it, at regular price. Standard goldendoodle 65-70lbs >>July $135 base > Sept $150 base … if I were to go back in Oct it will be $180 base price. With tax and tip I’d be paying over $200. Gavyn was absolutely great with both of our pups - Dalmatian & miniature long-haired dachshund! It’s great when you leave your dogs with someone that truly loves what they do! I was able to easily see his love for dogs. He was so sweet to both of them - our Dalmatian is a bit crazy & Gavyn took his time with the diva that our dachshund thinks she is!

GroominGavyn took excellent care of our Aussiedoodle puppy for her first grooming experience! He did a puppy cut for her first time so she could ease into it. He is so sweet with the doggies! Our pup looked amazing and smelled great! Can’t wait for her to go back in!! Thanks GroominGavyn!
