Reached out and got a quick reply the same day. Pricing was fair and the guy was solid to deal with. Ended up fixing the issue myself so I didn’t need the work done, but he still followed up afterward which I really appreciated. Next time anything comes up with a Mini or BMW, he’s the one I’m calling. Definitely recommend supporting this shop.

I can't recommend Richard and Bavarian Rebel highly enough. I hired Richard to perform a pre-purchase inspection on a BMW X5 M50i I was seriously considering, and his expertise potentially saved me from making a very expensive mistake.This wasn't a high-mileage BMW from a small independent seller. It was a roughly 10,000-mile BMW being offered by an established Porsche dealership in Miami. Given the vehicle's mileage and the reputation of the dealership, I initially questioned whether an independent inspection was even necessary. I'm very glad I didn't skip it.Richard is a certified BMW technician and performed a thorough inspection using BMW's ISTA+ manufacturer diagnostic software—not simply a generic OBD scanner. He also road-tested the vehicle and identified a repeatable transfer-case/driveline shudder under specific conditions that I would not have been able to properly diagnose myself.The dealership initially told me that its service team had evaluated the vehicle and that multiple people had driven it without finding a problem. Based on Richard's findings, I pushed them very hard to have the vehicle evaluated further by BMW service. They ultimately told me that the repair was significant enough that they decided to remove the vehicle from their retail inventory rather than sell it.Whatever the reason, the fact remains that the dealership reportedly had multiple people evaluate and drive the vehicle without identifying the problem that Richard found during his independent inspection.That experience demonstrated the value of having someone with Richard's BMW-specific knowledge inspect the vehicle. He knew what to look for, how to test for it, and had the manufacturer-specific diagnostic equipment and experience to identify an issue that others had apparently missed.Richard was professional, thorough, and extremely knowledgeable. Most importantly, his inspection gave me the information I needed to make an informed decision before committing tens of thousands of dollars to the vehicle.Whether you're buying a BMW from a private seller, an independent dealer, or a major Porsche dealership, I strongly recommend having Richard and Bavarian Rebel inspect it. This experience convinced me that an independent BMW inspection isn't just for questionable sellers or high-mileage cars. Richard was excellent! I’ve been having problems with my A/C for months and when Richard fixed it I haven’t had any problems since then. This has been the 2nd time Richard has helped me out and I won’t be going to any other mechanic. He knows what he is doing, super friendly, and is always willing to help!
