This is my second baby delivered with the GBC team and again it was such a lovely experience. I felt well educated, well prepared and very very loved. Deliver was smooth and I was supported and pampered through the process. Never once felt like I was alone and as a momma who did this delivery as just momma that was very special. Yesterday I gave birth at Grapevine Birthing Center, and I am so so happy that I chose these midwives to take care of me and my baby girl. Throughout the pregnancy, these midwives have been helpful in guidance, knowledge, making sure Baby and I were healthy, etc. They helped ease fears and addressed concerns at every visit with kindness, attentiveness, and compassion. Each visit was such a treat for my 2-year-old. At the birth, Joy in particular saved our baby girl’s life, and likely saved me as well. My labor was only 5 hours long (to everyone’s surprise), so by the time Joy, my husband, and I got to the birthing center, I was already in transition. Joy helped me cope with pain and fear for the short 20 minutes I was at the birthing center before having my baby. My baby’s body got stuck on her way out after her head had already been birthed. Joy, even while I was grunting and screaming and trying to breathe through the fetal ejection reflex, was calm and professional, and she confidently helped me into different positions to get my baby out quickly and safely. Unfortunately, her umbilical cord had also been wrapped around her neck, so she was born paper white with no sounds and no breathing. Joy quickly jumped into action and revived her. My daughter started breathing a few seconds after birth because of Joy’s confidence, knowledge, and quick thinking. My husband and I thank God for Joy! After the birth was calm, peaceful, and lovely with a soothing herbal bath. Joy and Cait took good care of me and the baby and helped make us both feel as comfortable as possible after such a crazy birth experience that no one could have predicted happening. My husband and I were safe home with our sweet baby less than 3 hours later with no complications and no concerns. Needless to say, I highly recommend the midwives at GBC. They are all competent, knowledgeable, and caring. And I of course have to mention the sweet receptionist, Kaylee (I’m sorry if I didn’t spell that right!), whom my 2-year-old daughter absolutely adores!! Kim and Joy were comforting and encouraging during that part of my journey. At the beginning of my third trimester, we discovered that I was severely anemic and they worked with me to find a way to improve my levels to facilitate a safe birth. My midwife during my birth was Joy who was the most calming presence. We got to the birth center at 3:45am and had our baby in our arms at 6:36am, and I don’t think I could have done it without her. She continually reminded me during the hardest parts of my birth that I was safe and my baby was safe, and that my body was made for the job it was doing. I walked out of my birth with GBC feeling respected and cared for. I can’t recommend them enough. I’m so happy that we chose GBC🤍 Less

I had my second child at GBC- this was my second birth center delivery. The experience overall, was great. The midwife who was on call when I went into labor- Joy- was confident and calm during my labor, with lots of positive energy, and little stress, which I appreciated. Being as this was my second birth center experience, I did not need high support and felt fairly confident in my own ability to birth baby naturally. I would recommend getting yourself an excellent doula if you feel you need high support during labor, to guarantee that you would have it. In order to give an honest review- there were a few things I want to mention, if you’re looking to birth your baby here. 1. Out of all the birth centers in the DFW area, this is probably the most affordable, though your min cost will most definitely be in the $2500-$3000 range, with an upwards out of pocket max of $4000. It ALL depends on your insurance and what your deductible is. Lower deductible- lower overall cost, higher deductible- higher overall cost. Kailee works the front desk at GBC and can answer all your insurance questions! She was so helpful when I was figuring this out. We decided to switch to a low deductible plan halfway through my pregnancy, which cut our BC fees by $1000 and minimized a lot of our blood work/lab fees as well. 2. There are surprise fees- for example, the sonogram technician who does Ultrasounds as a partner with GBC, charges $170 for the sonogram read but THEN you pay for an outsourced provider to read the sonogram, which for us was an additional $100 because the MD was not in network(a difficult thing to verify before a sonogram. We also didn’t know about this additional MD fee until we went in for the sonogram..a surprise cost.) 3. More surprise fees- we got bills on bills (a $50 bill here, $80 bill there, etc) for all the lab work done at the birth center, via Quest Diagnostics. I changed my insurance plan to a low deductible halfway through pregnancy, so the lab work done after that insurance change was not expensive, but the lab work done before, was. 4. Remember to ask about your lab results because I noticed this follow up was often forgotten. The results might be online on your midwife account app that you set up with GBC when you become a patient, but I honestly didn’t really check that so I’m not sure if it was. I did my Group B strep swab, and was never told that those results came back positive. When in labor at GBC, my husband later told me that the midwives had asked if I wanted antibiotics but I couldn’t hear them bc my AirPods were in, so he said no for me, because things were moving so fast. So I was GBS positive but didn’t know…and didn’t get ABX in labor before baby was born either. It was only before discharge when I was asked to sign a release of liability for not receiving ABX, that I learned I had been GBS positive. I was overall okay with not receiving ABX, just a little frustrated that I had no idea that I was GBS positive..I would have tried natural remedies to work on that before baby was born, had I known. But was just trusting that baby wouldn’t be in the minority statistic of newborns who get GBS disease. All that said, I have zero regrets going with GBC! Discharge did feel hurried, the environment somewhat loud with conversations; the whole experience did not feel as romantic or sacred as with our first (this baby was also born 15 mins after we got to the BC😬) but again I was a 2nd time mom and we were okay with that because we just wanted to get home too-I’m sure if you’re specific about how you want your experience to be in your birth plan, it will be respected! Also, if you’ve birthed at a hospital, I’m sure you would be singing praises about this facility! My review is probably a little nitpicky but comes from the perspective of a momma who is used to having high quality care concerning birth, having had both my kids at birth centers. GBC is a far better alternative to hospital birthing, with better and more extensive, holistic quality of care. Everyone here was kind and wonderful to us. Less

This was the best birth experience I could have hoped for. I gave birth to my second child here in December 2022. My first pregnancy & birth had been at a very expensive hospital, and despite my ObGyn's emphasis on patient choice, the hospital ended up putting me on the Cascade of Interventions. This second time I was determined to try something different, and the midwives at Grapevine Birthing Center were absolutely wonderful. I had no idea that medical care could be so personal, patient informed, respectful and open to evidence-based treatment. My actual birth was almost a dream. Joy Jones and Christina Evans assisted my birth, and they are incredibly competent and really know birth. My front abdominal core was having issues since my last birth, so my contractions were non-ideal (super painful & not doing much) with searing pain under my bellybutton (my inner ab muscles were having issues during each contraction), and when we arrived at the birth center at 2:00 in the morning, these midwives figured out exactly what was going on immediately. Joy wrapped a cloth around my front core which reduced the searing pain, and Christina quickly showed my husband how to use counter-pressure on my abdomen during each contraction. So during every contraction my husband would apply counter-pressure to my abdomen as I braced against the wall. This reduced the pain by a factor of 3 (!) and made the contractions much more efficient. Less than 4 hours later I climbed into the warm bath (which reduced the pain by 90%!) to push out my beautiful 8.5 lb daughter in 16 minutes, with minimal tearing. This is an absolute contrast to the horrifying delivery I had at the hospital with my previous child, and if I had this baby at the hospital they would probably have had no idea about the counter-pressure technique and given me a C-section. Instead, I had a magical birth with my husband doing half of my labor ♥️. When I pushed our large daughter out in the warm tub (and felt my sitz bones spreading apart and the ring of fire), I remember thinking this can't be real because how come it doesn't hurt that much... I had no idea birth could be so relatively painless and simple. These midwives are extremely competent, they know things doctors and hospital nurses don't. They are everything that I didn't know was possible. And they are kind and absolutely brilliant. Less

I love this place so much. My first pregnancy and this one were so different all because of this birth center and the midwives. I felt listened to every step of the way, and they answered any questions I had. I was able to have a successful, unmediated vbac. I had an absolutely fantastic experience with GBC. It's important to recognize they're only able to take low risk pregnancies and you just never know what you'll come across on your journey. I initially was planning a hospital birth until the covid regulations were so ridiculous that my own husband (not to mention father of my child) wasn't allowed at the appointments. I had to talk to a doctor alone about the genetic risk factors for our child. I walked out after that appointment and said, I'm not doing this and considered alternatives. I really appreciated seeing the same ladies that would be delivering my baby when the time came. They were reassuring, professional and just so happy to be a part of bringing a new life into the world! It was clearly more than just a job and recognized the value of what they're doing. The experience was truly night and day compared to the OB. Constantly available for questions, could get appointments on short notice and I never felt like just a number with a pregnancy condition. Grapevine Birthing Center is absolutely amazing. The midwives accepted me into their care at 29wks pregnant and all of them were so kind and wanted my birth to go exactly as I wanted it. They made my husband feel like a part of the team and helped us to deliver our first baby 2 weeks early, sunnyside up, with very minimal tearing. I love these ladies (Katie, Stephanie, Joy, and Tiffany at the front) and loved my experience with them through pre-natal, delivery, and the aftercare of mom and baby. I went here for a blood gender test and had a very pleasant experience! They ladies were very nice!! The appointment was so quick no more than about 10-15mins and I got my results back from Sneak Peek the very next day around 6pm.

I gave birth in December 2019. My prenatal care was phenomenal. I learned alot and felt comfortable the entire time. They give you great counsel and are obviously very educated and experienced. My labor was a breeze. I came in and had my baby 4 hours later. The stairs helped baby descend. They have every tool you can imagine to help with a natural birth. It was wonderful. However, the labor part COULD have been terrible if it weren't for my husband. *Their water heater was not working the night I went into labor. My husband and midwife had to leave me alone for a while to figure it out. (Handy husband to the rescue!) The issue was fixed in time and I had the water birth I wanted. *BUT I found out about the water heater issue by jumping into a cold shower when I was deep in labor. My husband helped dry me off and went to fix the issue. It was stressful and the last thing I wanted was to be cold. *I'll also add- this was not a huge deal but bothersome- when we arrived to GBC, the door was locked. We had to wait a little while in the cold outside. *Lastly and most irritating -my pp pap smear results had an irregular result. It took them a complete month to notify me! How did they notify me? Well I actually requested the results so who knows when they planned on contacting me! The results required an immediate visit with an OBGYN. I was upset that I wasn't notified on the date they recieved the diagnosis. A few days would have been fine but a month is extreme. *My actual last point- GBC never contacted me about any other results. I was the one asking what my results were. They say no news is good news which is why I waited so long to follow up on the pap smear. You just have to make sure you call them to see what your results were! All in all, I am grateful for their care. I truly did have an overall good experience. Less

I’m not at all new to midwifery and I will say these ladies at Grapevine Birthing Center have given me the best experience I’ve ever had. From health care to personal care they have catered to every area and my family and I will be forever grateful. I would definitely recommend them to anyone because they are worth it and the experience they give is worth it.

Aaahhh, where to start?! I've used the services of Kim and the team of midwives at the center for 2 pregnancies. The midwives (and secretary 😘) become your friends, and you truly feel cared for, even loved by them...so much better than a typical doctor/patient relationship. I loved that appointments were ALWAYS on time, always long enough to ask any questions and furthermore that my opinion and voice was always heard during the entire pregnancy and delivery. The ladies are a wealth of knowledge about childbirth and women's health, in general. The process is very safe and you're well-supported at all times. If there is ever a concern or need for further medical intervention, they discuss the situation with you and give you the all options you have (if any) so that you can make an informed decision. Unlike with most doctors and hospitals, your voice is heard and respected. They provide ultrasounds at the center through a 3rd party provider; the ultrasounds are reviewed by a trained radiologist so you will not get an unqualified opinion on your baby's development. As your delivery date approaches (& even passes 😬) they call/ text regularly to check in with you. They do not leave your side and constantly monitor you and baby during labor and delivery. The gentle coaching and calm environment make delivery as pleasant as possible. You'll feel totally empowered and supported. ***MOTHERS PLEASE READ REVIEW**** I wish we could say we had a great experience like most, but for us it was far different and I wouldn’t recommend a single person to this place. I’ll start by saying I think the midwives are knowledgeable and they mean well, but on the business side of things grapevine birthing center has no idea how to run a professional business and are money grabbers. We signed up in the third trimester, still Paid the full term for it and unfortunately weren’t able to give birth there due to a c-section baby. Some of the problems we had with them were they went against what our obgyn said our due date was, which was dated off of the first ultra sound that is the most accurate during pregnancy, also which is what every professional goes off of. Due to that we had to pay several extra hundred dollars for sonograms on their behalf because we thought our child was past due. Not only did we have to do that then it caused complete chaos and stress on our family because we thought the baby was post term. One of their sonogram dr told us they thought she was going to give birth 8/23 which she gave birth 10/4. Our obgyn told us 9/22 and grapevine birthing center told us 9/6. It was utterly complete chaos and stress on us. Later, once we got transferred to a hospital which they help setup for us and met us down there, they then said they had only one midwife on duty with another mother that was 41 weeks pregnant so they left us at the hospital and told us to keep them updated through text, which we did...thinking they were coming back to help with the delivery. After being in the hospital for hours our dr asked where our midwife was? “She should be here, you paid them money for this.” We didn’t really know what to say and were lost for words. Long story short they just wanted updates through text and never showed for the birth or after. There were a couple other issues we had during our couple months in their care... 1. My wife was getting her cervix checked around 38 weeks and while lying on her back the midwife did not offer to help her up, which was very difficult for her to get up on her own during this time and a little help would have been nice. 2. They like to use a text service that is completely out of order and near impossible to figure what they’re trying to communicate, we’ve spent some time dissecting them and laughing in disbelief. Finally after looking for a little grace because their service is so expensive and double what most midwives cost, they agreed to pay for two of our late sonograms which didn’t even cover the cost, and deduct our late fee with a very minimal return. Kim has a lot to learn about business, making her customers happy, and doing the right thing which is being fair on someone that has to transfer out of their care. Their service is like a casino, they only care about money, the house always wins and they don’t have much grace for you. There are a lot of other midwives that’ll be with you day and night by your side during your delivery for half the cost and I would recommend looking elsewhere than using grapevine birthing center. We paid for a Cadillac with your service and received a lemon. I hope all mothers read this review before moving forward because this should be a very special time for families and unfortunately we were stressed out towards the end because of their service. Kim will justify this and say we didn’t tell them to come up to the hospital, why should we have to tell someone to come do their job after we’ve paid thousands of dollars? As far as the incorrect due date, well I’m not sure how you justify going against the first ultra sound? Just for the record, GBC own midwife was in disbelief about all the mix due dates as well, we had a long conversation about it with her, and she felt our pain and stress we were going through. Sorry you couldn’t witness it when you were in Germany, Kim. It might not seem like much to you but we were extremely stressed out about the situation. Less

In August my husband and I welcomed our first baby into the world. It's taken me a while to write a review because it's so hard to put into words how amazing our time was at the Grapevine Birthing Center. From the minute we walked in only a couple of weeks after finding out I was pregnant, I knew that was where I wanted to have our baby. The staff was sweet, kind and professional. The birthing center is always clean and welcoming, and you can always count on a smile from Tiffany when you walk through the door. Now anytime we visit or stop by for a chiropractic appointment, it feels like we're coming home to family. The midwives take time to listen and build relationships with you. I can't tell you how many appointments ran long because we were laughing, crying or pouring into each others lives. You're not just a name on a form, and your baby isn't "just another baby". They make you feel loved, cared for and heard. Even though I was nervous about the entire birthing experience, I never once doubted the care I would receive, nor that they had my best interests in mind. And my favorite part about the entire experience? When Danielle prayed with me while I held my two hour old baby boy in my arms. The birthing center is always clean and welcoming, and you can always count on a smile from Tiffany when you walk through the door. Now anytime we visit or stop by for a chiropractic appointment, it feels like we're coming home to family. The midwives take time to listen and build relationships with you. I can't tell you how many appointments ran long because we were laughing, crying or pouring into each others lives. You're not just a name on a form, and your baby isn't "just another baby". They make you feel loved, cared for and heard. Even though I was nervous about the entire birthing experience, I never once doubted the care I would receive, nor that they had my best interests in mind. And my favorite part about the entire experience? When Danielle prayed with me while I held my two hour old baby boy in my arms. I really valued how proactive their advice was along the way to prepare us for a great birth experience, including addressing the added challenges of getting a breech baby flipped and non-medically inducing labor when I was overdue. During labor they gave us great guidance on changing positions to help the labor progress, and within three hours of arriving at the birthing center, we had a baby! The VBAC was successful though medicated at the end after almost 20 hours of labor and that had stalled almost completely. When I was pregnant the third time, there was no doubt that I wanted to deliver at a birthing center. Grapevine Birthing Center was an answer to prayer that I didn’t even know I needed. It always spotlessly clean, had an inviting and comfortable family atmosphere, and I felt at ease the moment I arrived the very first time. I had the most amazing birth experience at Grapevine Birthing Center. Kim was so amazing from start to finish. I came to the center late in my pregnancy but it was the best decision I ever made. She was so calm and supportive the whole way. Everything was slow and gentle. Delayed cord clamping, lots skin to skin, and the most wonderful herbal bath for the baby and I about an hour after birth. It was like giving birth in a spa! My family was able to come and spend time with us right after birth and a few hours later I got to go home. Kim came over to our house about two days later to check up on me and the baby. She was so accessible, supportive and responded right away with any questions I had the weeks after birth. All the appointments before and after, the birth itself, Kim and her staff, and the beautiful center made for an amazing experience. This is the way birth should be! She told me it would be the most difficult thing I would ever do-and the most rewarding. She could not have been more right! My pre-natal care was handled expertly by both Lynette and Danielle. I was able to vocalize my worries and fears and left each appointment feeling confident that my baby and I were healthy. This past week we had our first born at GBC. After 24 hours of labor we had our son safely at 5:55pm the day before Valentine's Day. Our story: 30 weeks into my pregnancy, we switched our birth plan from a traditional OB/GYN to a natural birth at Grapevine Birthing Center. Having only 9 weeks to prepare with education, diet and lifestyle changes, we were guided with patience and confidence from Kim. She took us on without hesitation and eased us into the change. I was used to 2 minute meetings from my OB and never truly connected with him. I knew that I wanted something more. Something more for not only myself but for my son. Medicine and emotion unfortunately do not mix, but I knew that I wanted someone with loving and patient hands to handle my son and I. I wanted a relationship with my care provider outside of modern medicine. Kim provided that and more. Our appointments lasted well over half and hour and all of my concerns and worries were put to rest from her calm demeanor. She never coddled my fears or aided my worries. She exemplified strength and education with her prenatal care. She would even text me when she was on vacation to check up on me. Our labor: Kim (midwife), Margie (the assistant midwife), Tara (Sozo chiropractor), & Bethany (Doula) helped me make our birth plan a reality. I ended up having a surprise asynclitic labor and birth. This type of labor is rare. I was in so much pain I could not see straight. When I would have a contraction, Tara and Bethany would rotate holding my hip in place. It was the only way I could handle the contractions. They did this for hours without complaints or protest. I labored in the water, on the bed, squatting, while doing exercises, walking the stairs, standing in the shower...you name it, we did it. Despite the complications and exhausting journey for everyone, they never once let me or my child slip into harms way. They constantly monitored our baby and made sure that the line of communication was open. They were patient as I rode out the endless ebbs and flows that came with the situation I was in. Not once did I feel like I wasn't supported or respected during our experience. Without their support, I am sure that I would have had to go to a hospital and ultimately end up with a pressured surgery. Hospitals don't make money being patient and letting nature handle its course. There were many times that I would say "I can't do this. I can't do this!" and they would tell me, "Yes you can! You ARE doing this!" They were encouraging and made me feel like I was capable. The emotional support was the best part of my labor. When our son finally arrived, he was healthy and beautiful. They had the best care for him and showered him with love. My body, emotions and son were honored at GBC. As a woman, that is priceless. If we ever have another child, we will make the right choice at the beginning of our pregnancy and go with this establishment. My only regret with GBC and Kim is that I did not find them sooner. When I was pregnant with my son in 2014, I knew I wanted more out of my pregnancy, labor, and birth than a traditional OB and hospital could have given me. After a lot of searching for alternative options, I found the Grapevine Birthing Center and I will be forever grateful I did. The prenatal care is above and beyond. Kim Daly is such an amazing midwife - she is compassionate, knowledgable, and genuine. She answered every single question I had, our prenatal appointments were never rushed, and she calmly instilled confidence in me that I could have the natural birth I had dreamed of. In addition to Kim, I also saw Dr. Tara Connolly who is the in house chiropractor and who through the course of my pregnancy kept me comfortable with weekly adjustments. The post natal care and support was phenomal (there's a mom's group that meets at GBC!). Overall, I'm convinced that the Grapevine Birthing Center and the wonderful women I have met through it are the reason I had such an empowering and amazing birth experience, which in turn gave me so much confidence as I transitioned into motherhood. I loved everything about my experience here!

Our daughter was born here in August and we had a wonderful birth experience. All of the midwives are so loving and knowledgable. Kim provided excellent, thorough care throughout our pregnancy and delivery. Plus, a chiropractor and prenatal massages are all in one place! Great care. I love this place.

Awesome birth center! I really love that it has three birth rooms, each with their own private bathrooms. I want to have another baby just so I can birth here!

This is a great birth center! Very family oriented! Would recommend to everyone!
