Even though I am a 70 year old skeptic with atherosclerosis, I was open to alternative methods of physical therapy because as helpful as standard modality therapy helps, they really seemed to require too much physical motion and repetitive tweaking of the methodology. Being as old as I am, and actually having worked in the health industry for part of my IT career, I was able to make observations about many physicians and therapists, and their approaches to help solve a patient's problem. The one thing that I found common in their fields as well as in many other trades and professions, is that experience counts. Good and bad experiences (yes, bad ones too), when recorded, remembered and analyzed, usually improves one's skills. Repetitive trial and error and successes is key. Although I have enjoyed the youthful vigor, pride and enthusiasm of young medical professionals, long term experience can make the difference between good diagnoses, good modalities and great ones. Things that may be overlooked during an eager to serve diagnosis, can usually be picked up by the experienced eye. With that in mind, I selected Caren's Studio to help me cope with some lower back, shoulder, neck and sacrum issues. I knew her practice was not covered by Medicare and my Anthem Supplemental, but I had a good feeling that Caren had more patience and experience than the popular youthful clinics I was reviewing. Sure, those others may be great for another set of patients, but in my case, I had to err on the side of historically based experience and knowledge. It was a great choice and it went well with each visit. Caren takes a holistic approach, and yes, I was at first hesitant. However, one conversation over the phone with her, and I had to give her the opportunity to treat my aging musculo-skeletal components. She is truly a one on one practitioner. This studio is not an assembly line of therapists and trainers. The treatments utilized a combination of simple conventional exercises, pilates exercises, and ANF modality. She also emphasizes a good diet and a good deal of fluids. Regarding this ANF modality, you may wonder how a series of small circular band aid type patches can work on your body without any external or chemical stimulation. I said to myself, okay, I'll see if this helps in the next few days after my first therapy visit. I wasn't even thinking about the patches she applied to my neck and shoulder areas because I was focused on the exercises she was having me practice and remember. There was no sensation whatsoever and they just felt like your standard band-aids. However, I realized after 20 minutes that I could turn my head side to side beyond the original limited range of rotation. My neck was super stiff when I walked in for this first visit. Caren measured this initial range and we tried again at the end of the session. The improvement was impressive. Was I a believer? Maybe. After 3 more visits, yes. This ANF therapy, combined with Caren's exercise recommendations, has greatly improved my ability to drive safely (I could not turn my head to check my blind spots) and again exercise with confidence on my rowing machine. My neck has been improving since and by 4 weeks, it was just shy of normal. The other issues with my back improved and went away. Your mileage may differ, but in my case, I got a heck of a lot of therapeutic distance out of each visit. Please contact Caren if you would like to try this novel and innovative modality. Her personality will also put you at ease so your heart rate should drop to a meditative level during your session. Yes. Caren's Physical Therapy Studio is Highly Recommended. Less

My injury was not very serious, but I knew that I needed to put in the time and effort in to correct the injury. I had heard great things about Caren and she was the first person I wanted to see. Caren’s professionalism and expertise helped me resolve my issue in a timely manner. She is someone who I enjoyed seeing multiple times a week. She thoroughly explained my knee issue, with pictures, and was more than willing to answer any questions that I had. She is up to date and knowledgable about all the current physical therapy exercises and techniques. Every time I went in she had me continue what I was doing as well as pushed me to try new and different exercises, which allowed my body to heal quicker. Sometimes, I didn’t trust myself or my knee to do the exercises she wanted me to do, but I trusted Caren and what she told me. She is very personable and kind and I would highly recommend her to others. Less

I've been working with Caren on my knee for four weeks and have nothing but good things to say. I have had mild knee and back pain for the last five years but after my first week at her studio and working on the exercises she gave me for home I noticed a significant change in my pain level, standing posture, and comfort in movement. Caren has a wealth of knowledge, has lent me books and equipment, told me where to buy equipment and materials at the cheapest price, and has given my wife direction to assist in exercises that require an extra set of hands at home. Caren is honest, caring, and now the first person I would go to with any questions or concerns about my physical wellbeing. I'm so glad I reached out to her when I did. I'm much more comfortable and pain-free on my feet, sitting, and sleeping. Less
First visit with Caren today. Great experience. Utmost care and attention was given and she clearly has a passion for her profession. The studio is on her residential property and is spacious and very comfortable in a way not possible in a commercial or medical office space. I look forward to my continuing treatments.
