I started our home-building journey back in early 2022 (about a year before we would even break ground) and reached out to LaFollette as I began researching custom home builders. From the moment I connected with Tim way back then to today with our beautiful home about halfway complete - I truly believe that I am working with the very best custom home builder! Jason and his team are amazing - and have created a positive and collaborative experience providing the information and guidance needed for me to feel comfortable and confident in this home-building process. After working with Tim for a number of months refining and modifying my original idea, the plan design team then made all my house dreams come true. I appreciate all of the insights and suggestions as we worked to include all of my ideas and requirements (especially the all-important dog bath in the laundry room!). The next step involved a fantastic virtual reality walk-though where we were able to see the house (with replicas of our own furniture) to make sure that the plan met all of our wants and needs. During our VR tour, thank goodness I was able to see that the kitchen bar chairs and the dining room chairs would be way too close together - and thanks to Tim for noting that the fireplace, dining room lighting, and oven hood were NOT all centered in the same way! The VR experience truly made a huge difference and allowed for the plans to be changed before construction began, saving us a lot of money. Southwest's 'go-to' vendors/contractors are amazing and have WONDERFUL prices. From the dirt work and clearing to the light fixtures and hardware to the final touches and concrete in the driveway, there is nothing done/purchased/installed that is second rate. Most importantly, the entire team will never know the amount of gratitude we have for their patience, Christian attitudes, and willingness to do anything it took to get us in our dream home when it came to dealing our new neighborhood's HOA board. Southwest Homes literally kept me from having a nervous breakdown. We'll be a *little* sad when we close (very soon!) because we feel like these people are part of our circle now. So, I emailed Jason and Jimmy because it was about 9:30 in the evening and I didn't want to call, but about 10-15 min after I sent the email Jason was calling to see what we might could figure out that night. When we first went into the office to meet with Ernie, we saw nothing that he was showing us that we liked. We went home and literally drew something out on paper and discussed what we wanted with him and Southwest Homes delivered us the home that we wanted. Now, after being in our home for over 6 months now, the Southwest Homes team has stayed in touch with us to make sure that we are happy and always answer the call when we have a question.
