She is a great instructor, giving individualized attention, relating personal experiences and knowing which areas needed to be emphasized and remembered. Nurse Jenny was an amazing instructor. I’m an occupational therapist and this is the first BLS class I’ve taken where I’ve actually walked out feeling confident enough to provide CPR. The simulations/practice during class are extremely hands on, felt real, and really prepare you for an emergency situation. Very determined to make sure everyone knew what they were doing. EMT's were not treated they same as they stated they perform care differently because paramedics would be doing things so they wouldn't perform the same as nurses. This isn't correct because a paramedic is not on every ambulance so I believe they should have to learn the same as all medical staff/nurses. I know this from personal experience. I just recently finished taking this BLS course with instructor Jenny Ashley. She was truly an amazing instructor. She carefully taught us every single details that will help contribute to a success in saving a person’s life. She is very detail oriented and truly want us to have a life long lesson that we can carry in our everyday life whenever there’s an incident that require CPR. I really like the way how she is very passionate and patient with us no matter how many times we have failed to fully achieve the steps by steps requirement in completing the CPR, AED and how important each specific roles are when working in a team environment. I would highly recommend that if you ever plan to start having initial training for BLS or if you have to do CPR renewal, you definitely would want to register in her course. I took this class with my roommate, and we both agreed that it was the most thorough and thoughtfully planned out CPR class that we had ever been in. As a healthcare professional for over 15 years, this is by far the best BLS class I have ever taken. Upfront the class was $75. Classes I’ve taken in the past ranged from $55 - $60, but the the few extra dollars were completely worth it. Jenny is thorough and gives each attendee personalized attention. Other classes I’ve taken in the past have brushed over information and technique. Get you in and get you out. Jenny cares and takes her time to explain the information in an easy way to understand. I took notes, but didn’t need them when I took the test. I have bad knees and she was extremely accommodating by giving me additional padding. Jenny told me what I was doing right and what I was doing wrong and she did it in a way that I didn’t feel embarrassed or criticized. She knew how to pivot her instruction from when you were really good at something and when you needed more practice. You can tell she’s been doing this a while and probably has experienced a lot of real life situations. I got my BLS card and certificate the same day. Look, if you want to shortcut your knowledge and skill of saving someone’s life, don’t take this class. If you want the confidence to perform the best effort to save a patient, a random stranger, or a loved one from an infant to an adult right when leaving the classroom, TAKE THIS CLASS! I was in a serious rush to get my CPR certification due to some upcoming deadlines that I had forgotten about.... :/ I found her website and quickly filled in my information, even though I was certain no one would contact me AND I would be completely missing my deadlines.
